Just a small correction from someone who is local, canon pyon/bush bank aren’t small towns in any way whatsoever, canon pyon is a small village with one small convenience store, and bush bank is barely a hamlet with around 7 houses dotted around, and that’s present day, I can’t imagine how it was back then. Both locations are pretty rural and around 15-20 minutes from the main city by car, and are both places you wouldn’t come to unless you had to. Whoever did anything to derek would’ve been a local, or someone within the surrounding vicinity. And with the amount of fields and woodland surrounding them, I can’t imagine it’d have been difficult to hide any evidence of a murder.

As one of the people mentioned on this video in the comment section he might have gotten a woman pregnant and he probably didn’t want to marry her in order to tie himself down and thus legitimize the unborn child or else want to provide monetary support to the unborn child. This led me to consider the man with the bloody shirt might have been a family member of one of Derek Saville’s other girlfriends, say a father or uncle. I would have to check when it became mandatory for men to provide child support across the globe because if got a girlfriend pregnant and he refused to marry her/provide child support then he may have fallen to the wrath of a protective parent.

I think the family, the father especially, became so furious at his callousness that they decided to punish him by either forcing him to wed or else taking his life. Unfortunately we don’t know if that is the case. I would personally check birth records and do DNA analysis of children born around that time to see if he in fact fathered a child. I know the UK has strict laws against genetic genealogy (which is seriously wrong because it would help solve a lot of cold cases) but I feel like this could be the key to figuring out what happened to Derek Saville.

He didn’t want to be tied down and probably thought his carefree days would continue until he got one of his paramours pregnant and her family decided that he needed to “do the right thing”. I think the man with the bloody shirt was a family member of the, hypothetical, pregnant girlfriend, possibly a brother, uncle or cousin if not the father or stepfather. They might have beaten him until he complied and agreed to stop fooling around and make the girlfriend in question an “honorable” member of society. Unfortunately I think the beatings might have ultimately caused his demise. How the family has managed to keep their involvement a secret for so long I don’t know but if they were a family respected by a community and they didn’t want a scandal erupting due to having an unwed mother in the family then they might have paid off people. Hence why I suggested looking at birth certificates and birth announcements as well as genetic testing.
There are more potential scenarios as to who could responsible, than there are in a game of ‘Clue’, with this case. I don’t know if he will ever be located, but I hope so. ❤🕊️ Rest in peace
