How can you not like T. Dwan? He's always gracious and never rude takes a beating and never gripes...quick to smile and just wants to get a game on....God Bless him.
@dismalrealm depends who you believe, but it centralizes on Paul Phua. Paul brough the high stakes action from Las Vegas to Macau, where he sets up games. Word is that Tom Dwan is a favorite in the macau high stakes scene for juicing up games and creating action. So much, that even if tom busts, they are willing to stake him just to keep him in the games. Not everyone can play in macau. Nits dont get invited. The poker etiquette is also different. If a businessman asks a poker pro to show his hand, he is required to do so.
Tom Dwan Haters - " Dwan cant afford to play high stakes, hes broke " Tom Dwan- " Want to play the J6 game for $17k usd bounties in a $250k short deck ante game with 3k blinds and 6k buttons with straddles "
Have been throwing around the idea of trying a version of Short Deck where you remove one of the suits. You would be left with a 3 suit deck. Much easier to make a flush, and much harder to make pairs. Not sure how the hand rankings would work, but it could be interesting.
The most common hand I get at my local casino is J 6o I swear to god last time I played a 3 hour session and got it dealt like 20-25 times. I feel like in a game like this I would either win a shit-ton of money or go broke trying to bluff everybody because I always have J 6 lolll
everyone points this out as being the best part of the video but this is the part that confuses me...... the announcer saying AQ only loses to QJ ....... what about qqq or 666 or 777 or q7 or q6....!?!?!?
2nd handin the video "only QJ can beat him". I'm like pocket kings, pocket aces, Q6, Q7, Q9, pocket 6s, pocket 7s would do it too. Then there's a couple of straight draws and a potential spade flush. Great commentary.
Obviously he means only QJ is ahead as played. Overpairs are pretty much nonexistant based on preflop decisions and how often Rui and Dwan like to 3bet. Yes there are flush and straight draws but they are behind in equity. Q6 and Q7 both fold pre. Q9 does not beat AQ. As for 6’s and 7’s I think they are definitely a consideration, however I’m assuming they get raised quite often on the flop. Though a call isn’t entirely inconceivable given how dry the flop was, but multi way a raise is probably more often the play.
@@Nick-xu7ns Thanks for your interesting and accurate comments. @5:29 From the pre-flop and flop decisions it would seem that Rui Cao is repping a weakish hand like suited connectors 89 or unsuited mid-range cards like QJ as he has or even low pairs like 6s and 7s. Badziakouski is repping strength and Dwan could have really anything at all, given his style of playing Q7 suited J7 suited, suited connectors, KQ off suit or even be trapping with over cards, though I suggest in a 3 way pot, he'd re-raise with overpairs to get one player out of the pot. He could also have a small pair and be trapping or be sitting on JJ. So while I'll agree with the commentator that QJ is the primary hand that Dadiakouski has to be worried about it is certainly not the sole hand. I think JJ is a definite worry. And other hands where players are behind on equity such as flush draw, a straight draw or KQ off. I think I'm probably being too pendantic when he said "Only QJ can beat him". It just seemed like a comment made for people watching the game knowing what is in the hands of the other players.
I think J6 becomes the most valuable starting hand by far in this set-up. Equities run really close together anyway, so AA is less valuable than in full deck (or long deck) and this bounty is particularly huge. It's around a 20bb bounty.
You have to have the best combination out of 5 cards. The second time Tom had JJ77A. The other guy had 9988J. The 7 on the river counterfeited the other guy's pair.

26:14 Can someone explain to me how did Tom win the first run? I mean, the opponent has 2 pairs and all tom got was ace high?
It's short deck poker so the 2-5s are missing. The ace still plays for the low straight though so you can make a straight as A-6-7-8-9, which he did.
@OILΔR The guy above you literally explained it
Short deck poker reminds me of a mix of Omaha and Texas Hold’em
