Keep in mind this kind was essentially a MG from 2007 without an inner frame, and the articulation is exactly the same as the original MG Strike. It's striker packs are also usable by all the MG Strike kits, and those kits' striker packs will fit on this kit. It's an amazingly worthwhile kit.
@@Dahaka461989it's 1/100 scale, so it's just bigger and has like a dozen played runners (coating a runner adds cost) it becomes less costly than the RG (in yen value) because old + no inner frame
Yooo i just got this kit in a mystery box and i'm SOO EXCITED to build, thank you for a great review! So detailed and beautiful. I was already subscribed so you just get brownie points, thank Zeta Kai
I remember those old days where gundam can be buy fully plated kits, even the joints wrapped with plated colors but these days you can only see the plated color gold in the kit and the rest parts are none.
oh god, i brought this kit in 2007 without prior knowledge. all i know is its Cagali Gundam, and that is enough to make me buy it even tho its price is fking high for me at that age
I ordered this kit a few days ago as my very first model kit, what does it mean if the piece is undergated, and would I need to use sandpaper for this kit?
we actually did a 5 minutes tutorial regarding the undergated parts, that might help you a lot for this kit ruclips.net/video/EW7MR_MRL8A/видео.html&t= otherwise have fun with ti its a great kit
I would strongly advise against it. I've seen it attempted a handful of times over the years and it never ends well. I just wear gloves when handling plated kits like this. Or keep a cloth wipe handy, like the ones used to clean glasses, and just wipe off any smudges.

Damn. So this NG is like very ahead of its time
Wait… how it doesn’t have inner frame?
@@Dahaka461989 nope. A number of the SEED kits from that time were in between an HG and a MG.
@@jak-crow how this kit is worth More than any Seed kit nowadays, including freedom 2.0? Is it because gold plating?

The wings did that on the episode after the first appearance of the Akatsuki where she lands it in front of the main base to go inside and find Gibril
it also did that when it was revealed in the episode
For an over decade no grade kit it's so impressive, and really good review Zeta kai!

it is a great kit, in which mystery box you got that beauty that is a hell of a lucky draw
I got it in a Fukoburro from Newtype fore the new year ! I got this, 2 keroro robo kits, & and an SD Kit, for $100 This alone made it worth !
I remember those old days where gundam can be buy fully plated kits, even the joints wrapped with plated colors but these days you can only see the plated color gold in the kit and the rest parts are none.
fairly impressive looking for a no grade
I have a couple 1/100 ibo kits but this really opens my eyes to how decent a ng can be
oh god, i brought this kit in 2007 without prior knowledge. all i know is its Cagali Gundam, and that is enough to make me buy it even tho its price is fking high for me at that age
Got this kit today, can't wait to start working on it.
Akatsuki could use both MG and HGCE treatment and I need Akatsuki model kit with modern engineering.
Agreed, was gonna buy this until he said no torso bend deal breaker for me (silly I know)
Damn
This is beautiful for an NG kit
I just received this kit in a blind box from Newtype HQ. I'm looking forward to the build.
When you mechamorphize Japanese Imperial regalia, you got this gundam
I hope for a mg version of this but it probably won't be able to be better than this
This kit is extremely rare, though. Same with the 1/100 Legend
vidfreak727 yeah isn’t it going for around 90 to 10 bucks if not more nowadays
It's rare? My local hobby store always has it. Check out Gundam.my they deliver internationally. Don't know how much it costs tho.
Dexter Pun in California, it is extremely rare.
I have this one😲
Omg you deserve more subs
This is an amazing video btw
Also, the hg akatsuki is not complete undergated?
I just looked out over and it seems that it IS undergated. There's nasty seamlines on the tops of the shoulders, but no really bad nubs.
An NG I would consider, for sure
the best golden plated kit is the MG Hyakushiki 2.0. it's not as shiny, but the gold coating isn't as distracting.
Can you believe I've never built one? I think I'm buying one this week!
Why is it that in some reviews the akatsuki gold is more orange but, in others like this one, it is more yellowish like.
I have it sitting in the backlog, since It doesnt need any painting really I might just build it.
I built it yesterday lmao
Need Akatsuki Corleone palette.
10:35 i'm pretty sure the phenex wasn't a thing back in 2007
I hope akatsuki have rg scale
can't wait 4 Master Grade ver.
Such an old kit.. But still so awesome.. I want one.. Its rare though 😭
damn so cool. im also a newbie gunpla maker, i hope i can also grow my channel and make some unboxing like your's.
wow thanks for noticing me..
Wait undergated !?!?
Now im really interested

I want Oowashi in HG
Cheers from Brazil!
I have it, its great most of the parts were undergated and it has dry transfer decal
@@crist3809 someday... :v
curious, would gloss coating the golden parts help protect it from getting dirty by finger prints?
personally i would avoid top coating it. I would not want to damage the finish
@@GunplaNetwork but what if I use a model master super glossy coat?
I would strongly advise against it. I've seen it attempted a handful of times over the years and it never ends well.

@@zetakai6731 alright
Well, this Akatsuki was awesome and shiny gold
The oowashi pack is like build booster from build strike gundam
I think that back pack is the base of the back pack for build strike
I really want akatsuki right now
Did anybody put a clear coat or it doesn't need one i might not put the dry transfers on it
I did not coat it
@@GunplaNetwork thanks I won't do it either
Basing on this review it's seems like it's almost MG-ish in quality.
in terms of build it is really solid kit
They're called DRAGOON Pods
Does it have the camera stickers as well or do you have to paint those?
Doesn't need all the MG gimmicks cause fiddling with them or showing them off will just get fingerprints all over
I used Canadiangundam. (US guy lol )
needs a master grade
I‘m suprised Bandai didn‘t make one yet based on the Strike ver.RM hell not even a p-bandai one
I don’t really like the metallic cheese look of this kit, more like the metallic butter look of the mg Hyaku Shiki
That is a very large HG
Can I have one of those things
But I still prefer the Dragon Momoko akatsuki
Ahhh.... Is rare item
Looks like the strike gundam
Golden modified strike
“Akast-u-ki” , I cringe everytime you pronounce it that way.
oof, surprisingly at this con I went to where they help the gbwc, the bandai panel sold out of phenexes
