Marko Arnautovic - 'I Underestimated Chinese Super League, I Was Drinking Sprite, Coke, Fanta'

- Austria international Marko Arnautovic admitted he underestimated the challenges when he joined the Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG in July 2019.
The former West Ham striker scored in his CSL debut against Chongqing, but then struggled to find his fitness and had a five-match goal drought last season.
The 2018 champions SIPG ended the season in third, following Guangzhou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan.
In the delayed and shortened 2020 CSL, the 31-year-old Arnautovic had four goals and one assist after seven matches, as Shanghai SIPG led the Group B in CSL bubble in Suzhou.
Arnautovic and teammates Oscar and Hulk will welcome the Australia international and former Brighton midfielder Aaron Mooy, who joined the SIPG last week and is currently under quarantine.

One of many footballers who made some poor decisions and paid the price. Never realised his full potential and we all rue what may have been. Unfortunate that his brother only got paid when he moved clubs. Mixing family and business can be the kiss of death. There is still time for him to turn around his career. I wish him all the best.
