Alright, brother. I listened to the same CD for ten years, but not anymore. Your method worked like a dream, except I used the access card to a parking garage with the tape. Beautiful. Thanks, Cory.

I had made an appointment with the car dealership and they were going to charge me $200+ saw this video and had to try it. I used a flat spatula and masking tape, the CD came out on the first try took me less then a minute to do! Thank God because it was my bosses CD that he let me borrow to listen to lectures!

Like someone else said - It takes longer to find the stick/putty knife and packing tape than it did to actually get it out using your trick - it worked on the first try. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this video!

My son had managed to jam a second CD in and neither disc would eject (although somehow the first would still play). Having read this post I tried inserting a thin kitchen spatula (fish slice?) into the slot, then with the spatula still there also slid in a butter knife with sticky tape wrapped around the blade. I first tried with the knife on top of the fish slice, wiggled it whilst pressing eject, no luck. Then tried the same but with the knife underneath the fish slice - success! The second disc came out attached to the knife and I could then eject the first. Son very relieved, I am delighted too. Thank you!

Cory, thank you.Got the CD out from my wife's Honda Pilot. Worked like a charm. This was after the car audio and mechanic places both said they needed to tear the entire radio out of the dashboard. Thanks again.

Today I went to my dealer asking to get the CD stuck in my car's stereo. He told me it cannot be done. Then at home I tried your method using a flat, long piece of metal covered wit masking tape. It worked after a few attempts. Big Thank You!

Great advice! I used an old DVD with the double sided sticky tape pressing "eject" and applying down pressure. After some "doing" and a few pieces of tape I managed to extract all six CDs. However, the changer was 18 years old and on borrowed time anyway and the surgery essentially gutted the unit. Two of the CDs had a good deal of sticky residual on them after the procedure. I used some "GooGone", a soft tissue and then a micro fiber eye glass cloth and gently managed to remove the residue. Now, they play like new on my computer. Thanks again!

Yes, I just watched your video, went out to my car, tried it and, after about 3x, it worked. Thank you so much! Thank you SO MUCH!! Your trick worked on the very first try! I spent more time cleaning the tape off the shim than removing the CD! I didn't have any tapered shim, I used a plastic non-tapered shim that worked anyway. I found that the most important thing for me was the right thickness of shim and that very sticky tape you mentioned and making sure I wrapped it on both ends and held on tight with my fingers so it wouldn't accidently remain stuck in the player. Thanks a million!

This just happened to the CD player in our 2012 Sienna, and I too tried numerous tricks I found on Google to no avail. After listening to this, it took me a couple tries and voila, the tape stuck to the CD and pulled it right out. :) Thank you for sharing this trick!!!

YESSSS!! Thank you so much! I haven't been able to use my player for years after my child had stuffed too many CDs in there one day. I just pulled out 3 discs on the first try using a spatula and some less-than-super-sticky tape! Looks like I'm tied with @Braulio for most discs. Player works just fine now loading, playing and ejecting. Pure gold!

Thank you! Just tried this with a putty knife and packing tape, and I had the cd out in 15 seconds. That cd had been stuck in there for a year. Tried everything to get it out, even removing the fuse to the stereo to try to reset it. This trick tells me that a stuck cd is not a computer issue, but a matter of the cd getting bumped slightly out of place, and the only way to fix it is to remove the cd as you describe. Saw your video in the nick of time; I was just about to tear the dash apart, and then the cd player. Saved me a lot of work!

THANK YOU!!!! My 3 year old daughter had stuck not 1, not 2, but 3 dvds at the same time into our 2009 Honda Pilot's DVD player. needless to say, they got stuck and wouldn't eject. I tried this trick with a piece of cardboard cut from a cereal box and the big piece of packing tape. I got all 3 dvds out and now the player seems to be working fine, which is good news for us since the whole reason we paid extra for this car over another one was because of the DVD entertainment system. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!!!!

Two thumbs up!!! I was too lazy to look for a shim so I tried a piece of cardboard from a regular moving box. It worked like a charm the first try as well and even found a second Cd's hung up in there as well. Unfortunately the player is no longer working properly so I'll keep my eyes open for your next video showing how to get it to load and unload without the use of an object covered in sticky tape. :)

Fantastic. It worked first time, just like you recommended. I used a shim and a long piece of packing tape and stuck it in the CD slot, lifted up firmly on the shim back end to stick it well to the CD and then pried it up and out and it came out with the CD just fine. Then another CD came out when I pressed the CD eject button. The wife had 2 CDs in there at once. After I had them out, I tried putting one in and everything worked great. Wonderful video. Clear directions and thanks a lot.

I just tried this trick. I had 2 cd's stuck inside of a single car CD stereo. I used a 12 inch metal ruler and wrapped the packing tape around one end extending about 6 inches, holding on to the ends while inserting the ruler into the CD player. Then I hit eject. It gripped to the top CD and I pulled it out. The 2nd one also needed help. It would not come out on it's own. I got it to come out also. I tried putting another CD into the player and it played. I inserted and ejected it a few times just to be sure it would work and everything seems fine now. Thanks so much for the great idea of shipping tape. I thought I was gonna have to get someone to remove the CD player to get them out.

I used this trick on my Honda pilot to remove 2 stuck DVDs... I did not use tape. I only had a thick card paper. Infolded it twice and put it in as instructed just to try. To my amazement after it stopped making the grinding sounds the dvds came out a little bit... I pushed the paper again the second time and this time they came out enough for me to pull them out WOW!!. Thank yoy so much!!!!!

WISE WORD TO VIEWERS... do NOT use anything metal. Do NOT stick anything 'metal' (that conducts electricity) in your 'ELECTRONIC' radio!!!! wood shims and plastic/rubber pieces work great though. like he said, plastic putty knife woulda worked good too. oh, and thanks for sharing this video, good everyday knowledge to help small annoyances like this common problem lol.

Joe. Oct. 25, 2016. Simplest method. Wrap one end of a disc with and strong sticky tape. twist the tape so sticky tape is facing up. Hold the tape strongly with your thumb, and the insert into the disc just a bit until you are sure the tape has made contact with the disc inside. push down, and with your other hand push on eject and now pull out. Now the stuck disc comes out .
This works . I just did this about ten minutes ago. Good Luck, Keep well , Keep smiling

Thank you! I just got two CD's out of my Honda Accord. I used a putty knife and duct tape. The first came out right away; it took a few more attempts to get the second one out, but it worked!

MUCHAS GRACIAS!!! You are wonderful.Thank you for putting this on RUclips. I used a painters stick with sticky tape. I stuck it in the slot and thought it didn't work but after pulling the stick out I pushed eject and out popped the CD. YEAH!!!

Thank you, .Your trick worked like a charm.I had a plastic door shim and 2 in. Wide packing tape.I taped the packing tape to the shim at the back end instead of just holding it

I just used this technique to get a stuck CD out of an Alpine 7909 in my 1988 Lamborghini Countach. Yes... You helped fix a half million dollar exotic car.

Thank you! This worked on the first try. CD player did not recover, it's still unable to eject CDs. I had to test it, and again, your fix got it out.

Perfect! I used a putty knife and packing tape. I did the tape lengthwise and a wrap around the handle to make it easier to hold the sticky tape. Great fix!
