Love it! haha the yelling before hitting the surface is the best, nice cobia too! Im starting to get addicted!
AWESOME!!
Great divers! Great camera! GREAT FILM!
I'm from Brazil and I am starting the hunt under and loved the video.
beautiful shots, beautiful examples ...
very good your video ...
what song is this??
good water
Well you have obiously never been spearfishing before.
It is a highly skilled sport that takes great lung capacity and good endurence.
nice head shots.
its like halo underwater.
Awsome video man, keep posting these high quality spearin' vids.
Im away from the sea and every day I miss it more and more. Every night I take my speargun out from under my bed, count my change, and count down the days untill I'll be able to get the gun salty again.
Keep up the posts. 5*'s. Congrats on the Marlin too, freakin nice catch.
@GoldenXen I infact do understand the difficulty to spear a marlin, but I see them as a sports fish and would rather catch them on line.
I approve on all other fish in this vid though because they are all good eating.
This is awesome man. Makes me want to get into the sport. How long have you been spearfishing?
@kimkemay I don't know the situation where this video took place, but it is probably legal there, they probably taste good, and parrot fish are known eaters of coral. Said coral takes a lot of time to grow to a decent size, and each parrot fish eats an obscene amount, and parrot fish are far from rare.
hey man...great video...how long should I be able to hold my breath for before attempting the likes of what you do?
nice video, nice work, great pictures
@xosyer The further down you go, the less weight you should need. Once you pass 66 feet (I think) you go into a descent phase wherein you sink without kicking.
I agree siftingcinders, sharks are not ones to fuck around with in the ocean..
However to your comment about northern california.. You aint seen nothin' till u swim the coastal regions of Western Australia
Dam! what did you shoot at the very end that dragged the buoys down?
@deathmetal38 Lol. I started spearfishign when i was around 14 Y old. I had to run from the polcie few times, but it was lall worth it.
Thanks mate, best day of my life!
man u make me crazy!!! very good job
@chilib68 Thanks guys you can see the original on our facebook page:

great video!
1.3 Caranx (Sparid Sticker) 1.2 Sniper
how long is speargun? the one u shot the black marlin with? n wat size is the rubber?
How long can you hold your breath?
i wanna know the name of the song if its posible .. very nice and great video .. ;:)
@gunna1997 what's the average weight belt to dive 10 or more meters depth?
where was this film taken at?
dnnd07 (4 days ago)
WHEARE YOU FROM BOY
I'm from Sydney Australia, most of the footage is taken off the east coast & Coral Sea.
he did not shoot it, he poked it to keep it away. By the way, the shark has great chance to get him. Some of us would rather be fae to face with creatures, not staring at them through the glass of the aquarium or the tv.
OMG!!! number 1: this is truly a skill, I hav never done it but my Dad has and it seems awesome.....thee guys are incredible freedivers....all you guys that talk crap......try it once....you wont be able to reach the fish.....by th
e w
ay whats the song?
Was that A swordfish or a marlin
hey H0TTuna whats that last fish you got??
If you're mechanically inclined, then you should by the parts to fix your gun. Compressed air spear guns are a real pain in the ass to fix, if you can even fix them at all. You should definitely invest in a 2 or three band spear gun.
all spearfishing vids should have a sound track of bob marley lol ...
Why are people so against taking billfish? I had Marlin in Costa Rica, and it was delicious. And to my knowledge, the one taken in this video was not endangered.
Whats the new song called mate??
Not at all, even with the 20mm rubber. With the right technique all railguns should be easy to load.
Cheers,
Tuna.
its a bit silly to call people idiots when you're uneducated about the topic
impressive
@myrransf and to you my friend, safe & prosperous spearing ;-)
YOU RULE MANN ROLE MODEL MATE
what about the last shoot!?
what song is this??
thats like playing counter strike with fishes:)
its a pretty tiny dicked thing to do to shoot a black marlin, as they arent really particularly good table fish and youre not exactly gonna release it with a hole through its gut, the only reason people fish for them is game, which is fair enough because line fishermen can actually release it.
@emannuel321 he did shoot a shark
Considering the fact that the poster ate the marlin, can any of those people who opposed it give a reason why it is such a big problem? I am having a hard time figuring out why a marlin's life (or a person's for that matter) is worth so much more than a chicken's. And the fact that they are pretty doesn't count.
Nice
um...1 is a tank 2 is a snorcle(only if ur and expert)
OMFG 2:22 I THOUGHT YOU SHOT THE SHARK !!!!!!!!
music killed me...and the video too !!!!!
yes ftw
@MrLearjet25 Check again, juviniles have stripes adults have dots. Peace
Absolutely stunning footage H0tTuna!
Mate what you are seeing is the end result, you arn't taking into the account of all the effort and prep involved in even seeing these fish, let alone getting close enough for a shot. I could go on but in short yes there is skill involved.

Mate your an idiot, tell me where I shoot a shark in any part of this video? Use your brain before shooting your mouth off. Say hi to your girlfriend for me. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
The gun was a Rob Allen 1.3 Railgun with 1.9m 7.5mm spear and single 20mm Rubber, the second shot was an Rob Allen 1.2 Railgun with single 16mm rubber and 7mm spear.
Cheers,
Tuna.

i want to spear fish so bad. i recently was given a spear gun, i want to use it, the problem is i live in saskatchewan canada aka no where near an ocean.
People are making dumb stupid comments!
Where did you see the guys shoot the sharks, they were only naming them for
You idiots, then chasing them
Away from their fish !
And no, they aren't just shooting to kill to be cruel, they are hunting the fish for food !
Wise up, don't live stupid idiot ignorant comments if you have never spearfished !
Great video and shooting by the way !
@mmiller6465 d00d u wud n0t say th4t if u had s33n my holiday vid? i went out in the sun man and it frickin nr killed me coz it sucked so much - its my nu vidyo go watch it an feel sorri for me man u wont say what u sed afta u vyewed it
Yeh, they do. They go through intense training to build their lung capascity up.
People HATE it when you use oxygen tanks when spearfishing because its to easy and takes no skill. In some places (here in Australia) its not legal to use tanks.
Nice Video, when are you posting some more up?It's been a while we could do with some quality vids! Cheers for this one!
Or a hook through your mouth / caught in a net then left to suffocate to death ?
Spear fishing looks more brutal but most spearos dispatch the fish very quickly with a knife to the brain as soon as they grab them.
nice vid mate, truely well done
all the girls crying about spearfishing, you wouldnt want to know whats ur beef, lamb and pork go through when it reaches ur dinner plate.
Spearoes kill the fish in under a minute of capture
@MrBoomudead Under 16 you don't need a fishing license, but you still have to adhere to the list of fish that are not allowed to be spearfished under the 'Spearing' regulations here in Florida
little black marlin taste great anything over about 80kg has worms that why people tend to release them but not all people catch and release. if a marlin swam up to me while diving id shoot it too! this year has been the biggest run off black marlin I've ever seen most caught on rod and reel. 2 month ago there was about 10+ frames of black marlins from 10kg to 50kg everyday. line fishos aren't innocent eather mate!
why is that sometimes I want to start doing this , I love freediving, the ocean.
I know that it is better killing and eating by urself than paying those companies that kill in mass and throw half away. But I dont want to start loving a sport that the objective is to kill. I know that the most natural thing etc,Im not against it, and it looks really fun, thats why i wanna do it...but I dont know if my concious will be ok with that..help me thats the reason why im in medicine, to preserve life
@nedla15 Some fish are ok in parts of the world and not in others. Barracuda is an example. It depends on what they are eating in the area. And marlin is delicious. I've eaten it at a restaurant, and if I ever catch one, I am going to eat the hell out of it. It said at the beginning that all the fish were eaten. They didn't say whether it made them sick, but I'm assuming they didn't.
@xosyer The average would probably be based on the average person. So many variables relate to your body composition due to the fact that muscle, fat, bone, etc. all have different densities. And your wetsuit, if you wear one, has a big effect. But the short answer for someone living in the tropics that doesn't use a 5mm wetsuit is not much. I don't use any, personally, but I'm a sinker. If you are diving with proper form it shouldn't be too hard to get down.
@kimkemay Your size point depends on the distance from the camera. Based on the length of a typical spear shaft and comparing the length of the fish to it, I would say the fish was well over twelve inches long, and due to the girth of a parrot fish in relation to its length, I would say that one was definitely a meal for at least one person. I have seen parrot fish that I know weighed at least five pounds. Don't know what you consider big enough though.
@Bettlebonnet People do live in the jungle, just not us. I would agree that doing it for fun doesn't make sense, but the disclaimer in the beginning of the video said he ate all the fish he shot. As an aside, I write for a very green fishing magazine, so my views are in no way meant to reflect a lack of respect for the environment. Wild caught animals are healthier than domesticated ones. Could that be a sign that eating farm-raised is worse? And "dehabitation" is furthered by farming efforts.
@emannuel321 yeah predators eat other predators all the time they do it to survive, we're doing it just for kicks. I just have respect for the environment. One person taking out a shark etc an't gunna have any effect, if we all did it there'd be none left. People don't 'live' in the jungle anymore so it's the tigers environment, De habitation is pushing people closer to them unfortunately, In that comment it was an example, refaring to big game hunters doing it for fun. Guys with guns and small.
thats fucking shit, u should only shoot fish ur gunna eat not just cos its a buzz. Ur lucky to see those fish so why kill them. I'm spearfishing in Northern Scotland right now, hunting for big cod, freezing my testes off between the polar bears and ice caps anything I see thats interesting and not overtly edible I admire I don't put a hardened steel spear through its head just cos its there. I'm also jealous cos the young lady looks better than me in a wetsuit....now that don't happen much lol
@myrransf : spearfishing is not a simple sport like volleyball or badminton - it uses a dangerous weapon, water skills (swim, breathe, shoot) which require training and practice, plus the courage to face the sea and its surprises. In fact holding your breath at the bottom of the sea will attract the fish to come towards you - if you try to swim to them they will escape quickly, whereby my comment... I do not deny the fun of it, and our friend who posted this vid is very a skilled shooter =)
Each movement you make is a loss of energy, learn to palm in a very calm and regular way.Don't spoil energy palming down, you should always go down and up very slowly, with slow and ample movements.Don't spend energy holding something(rock) or agitating yourself (swimming with hands), underwater all necessary efforts you make represent a great loss of air.Learn to rest on the surface, breathe slowly and regularly. Aim is to be really calm and move softly ! Peace !
I go spearfishing every weekend. I only shoot what I'll keep. Theres no point shooting a fish then letting it go when it will die within a short amount of time. From blood loss, infection or any other reason. Also, always aim your shots for the tail. the further up the body you go the more chance of the fish dieing if you do happen to let it go. If you find a school of fish don't go on a killing spree. All in all good video, well done.
Nice video, I'm glad you respect the elasmobranchs even though they steal the catches occasionally. To the people that are complaining about spear fishing being cruel think about large drift nets that take a long time to kill the fish and also have huge bi catches. Spearfishing is the most ecological way of fishing because you are only killing the fish you want not a whole bunch of other unwanted ones.
what happend in the end
did he shoot a fish that was too big to pull out imidiately so that he first hang it on the robe of the two baloons ?? because the went down but i couldn´t see what was happening exactly
spearfishing is an intresting sport and in my eyes it´s the fairest way to hunt fishes as long as you do it without oxygenbottles
i don´t life at the seaside so i can´t do it but i give probs to those guys they must be realy good divers and sportsmen
Aweome video man, but stop shooting billfish. epic to do so, but cut the shit
excuse me but, where is the enjoy? it's too simple cath fish in this world's area and only danger is the shark?, where thecnics you use? waiting, ambush or fish's suicide? ehehe :)
i'm joke because i'm envious, i live in italy near 5 terre (La Spezia near Genova) and ours sea it's very poor, my spearfishing it's ridiculos than yours... bye (excuse me for english :))
@xosyer i wear a 1.5mm omer suit ( i live in the caribbean ) and for diving about 50 feet i use like 4 pounds and i weigh 135 pounds you have to go from a small amount of weight and and keep adding if you need ,once u find the right amount of weight then use that what i do is if i float up from like 15 feet or so then i find that sufficient weight hope this helps
@emannuel321 thanks for the answer...I usually go down on my own and I want to descent without much effort cause I lose a lot of energy descending. I want to try a weight belt and I would like to know the average weight needed to dive from 10 to 14 meters proximately...I'm from Dominican Republic and spearfishers don't use much gear...Lol
@Bettlebonnet In addition, predators eat other predators all the time. Why does killing and eating something disrespectful? And why don't cows deserve more respect than that? Apparently you aren't Hindu. Or maybe you are. Maybe you are a vegetarian. I can't really tell the entirety of your beliefs by your posts.
Nice video!...But just curious.. the gunther Pfrengle mentioned as one of the divers in this video wouldn't happen to be the same one that stoned that 282kg Bluefin Tuna off the coast of New Zealand would it? Just curious because i think i know him through family friends and i have always wanted to talk to him..
wow - where is this? I wonder what was the last fish that took the float underwater at the end?
This is the best freestyle spearfishing footage I have seen so far.
whats up with people and his shoot the shark comments.. obviously any1 who dives knows sharks dont like the metal givem a lil poke they leave you alone... why let it keep on getting more and more curious?? now that shark knows hey that thing pokes stay away from it.
Black marlin isn't endangered? They are naturally more shy and harder to find/catch. Parrotfish are great to eat! Also they didn't shoot at the shark. He poked at it to keep the shark at a distance. Sharks are very curious, and need only a small reminder to help them not attack the diver.
@jeremyrules2 Have you spearfished? It isn't as extremely productive as it is made out to be in videos that people post. They aren't going to post the ones of them searching a reef and coming up empty handed for three hours. Furthermore, do you eat beef? Chicken? Do you hook and line fish?
Great vid timing every thing, cant say I like the music though, especially when the bitch goes ahhhhhhhhhhhh forever err but thats just me. just got into spear fishing myself looks like you guys are on the money!!!! I'd like to join your club but it's too far is there one closer to sydney?
@jeremyrules2 ehm, I spearfish myself and its not easy, you have to train and practise for it. most fishes are not stupid enought to swin right towards you when you swin under water. you got no lay still and pratice in holding your breath and aiming.
@lifesaverkid I've never heard of longlining for Marlin. Where do they do that? In the states? Commercial fishermen definitely catch more fish than I do, Marlin or otherwise. That or they're spending much more money than they're making.
@victoriaskimboardII You are aware that all these fish probably weren't shot on the same trip, correct? Also, even if they were, people often freeze fish for later when they can only get out once in a blue moon, like most of the population.
Awesome video! and I recognised some names in the credits :). Well Done!
Something I don't understand is....... why do people who are against people hunting their own food, watch videos of it then post comments???? i mean seriously.... WTF? MATE!
Great video! Also, spearfishing isn't just about having difficult fish to shoot at but fighting it to the surface and testing your own limits not to mention putting food on the table. If you can eat it and you do, it's fair game in my book.
Some of this is very poor ... does he really eat what he spears? ... does he consider spearing a slow moving, parrot fish to be sport ? He should spear edible, sporting species like the small, fast moving tailor or the small, blindingly fast, mackerel tuna.
sharks usually don't go for humans while they're diving... and he pointed it at them so that if they go close they would swim into the point and run away... and if he did get attacked... i'm 100% sure he'd try to shoot the fucker
