hell yeah man i love it all over! most fun north side alot of areas but prolly in the pachuco hoods fullerton long fullerton laramie ( L TOWN ) best drugs? WEST SIDE WEST GARFIELD PARK pleanty of open air markets LOL DONT JUDGE and of course home now and the best people i ever met SOUTHSIDE never been out east and i been here 24 years but its such a small and pointless area anyways
Chicago is like a textbook city. It's got everything you need. The fact that it sits right along Lake Michigan giving you access to beautiful shoreline is the icing on the cake.
Very nostalgic! I'll never forget 1818 N Halstead 🙂 I'm headed back next weekend and I'm looking forward to visiting some of my favorite spots. I also loved all the throwback pictures and videos, especially Aggie as a city dog! Looking forward to the next one 🌭🍕
After i'm done living abroad, I really want to move to Chicago! i've visited a few times, but it's so fun being taken around the different neighborhoods!
Thanks for watching! Really glad you enjoyed the video. Chicago is a special place and we definitely agree it has to be included on the shortlist of best cities in America!
Chicago has 77 neighborhoods, soon the “78” is soon to be added on near Southside. Most native Chicagoans don’t live in these areas, they are populated with transplants (for most part), get farther away from the lake and will experience more of the local haunts. There are many neighborhoods where houses have yards, particularly on far NW and SW sides, some quite large lots.
I'm a real Chicagoan. Born and raised. My mother and her mother were too. Thanks for appreciating our city, but there's a real difference between people born and raised here and transplants. You live along the lake for the most part amongst other transplants and never meet native Chicagoans !
Nice video, but I’m curious where you got the number of 178 neighborhoods. The city only has 77 neighborhoods and there is about to be a 78th. Were you including all of the sub-neighborhoods?
Yeah, there are 77 "community areas" that were made official by the city government for I guess technical purposes when it comes to services and resource allocations, but there is a multitude of neighborhoods people can declare themselves within. The last "official" map of all the neighborhoods in Chicago was made back in the 1990s using small samples of people in each relative area, then drawing up compromised boundaries from there. Now, that 178 number is unique to me, that may come from that 1990s map or a list somewhere, but the number sounds reasonable enough to me, especially if they may be counting historical districts.
Milwaukee Ave and Grand Ave are two more diagonal streets. Grand is due east and west from Navy Pier to Western Ave, then it becomes diagonal. My favorite street in Chicago.
You couldn't have been that far from the millionaires because where you lived had to be expensive. I love your video. I always wished to live in a good spot where I could have peace of mind and was not so lonely. I love this city but it has not been so kind to me. But it is so beautiful.
@@MaxandSidney I currently live in London ( and Italy part time ) and even London is way cheaper than Chicago. Can’t wait to follow your next adventures . You two are appreciated.x
It seems to costs of living are rising everywhere, but it definitely seems accelerated in major American cities. We were surprised how much more expensive everything was even compared to when we lived there
@@MaxandSidneyI almost always used to get a beer or 2 when going out for the occasional bite to eat, when you could get a pour for $5-6, not so long ago. Now, I rarely order beer as prices have approached the $10 territory (I've had to tighten my budget, too). I suppose I should hunt for happy hour deals to enjoy a reasonably priced beer though.
in 2011 taco bell cost of a grande meal ( 6 hard shell taco and 4 bean burrito ) 11 and change NOW its 20 AND CHANGE! even fast food places have went thru the roof ( atleast 4$ change just in last 3-4 years )
The best part of NYC video tours is they never feel the need to compare themselves to Chicago because they don't care about Chicago. This tour would have been cooler and had more appeal outside Chicago Homers if it wasn't sprinkled with shade. It's giving inferiority complex.
Interesting take! Honestly can’t remember mentioning New York at all 😂 but maybe we did! Either way, we actually love both cities and have spent lots of time in both. There are pros and cons to each which makes it really hard to compare

Just got the reassessment of my property on the north side -- up to $1,000,000, a 26% increase. We can assume the property tax next summer (2025) will also be up 26%, or $21,000. Chicago is indeed changing. Kiss the middle class and the middle restaurants goodbye. There will be nothing left but multimillionaires and the public-housing poor.
Fun fact-the Chicago diagonal streets follow centuries-old Native American paths.
Wow, really?? That I didn’t know!
Yes the The Vincennes Trace, which is now Vincennes ave to name one.
3 years is amateur numbers. Think about how much it’s changed in the 14 years I’ve been here! Still love it though
Me when I've been born and bred here
@@ChuckE.CheesesIllinois shit sense 2001 ( 33 years old now moved here when i was 10 ) SOUTHSIDE the best side.. west side the death side!
That place still has $4 pints! 🙌
You sold Chicago to us! The sky line is 👌
It was a very nostalgic visit. Would love to show you two around Chicago and Milwaukee some day 😉
Chicago is more than the northside. Explore more when you come.

So many cherished memories in this city 😊 hope you enjoy your re-visit as well! Excited to hear which of your favorite spots you go to!
Love this! Great overview of the city. Enjoyed following you around 😊
Thanks for watching! It was fun to see all of the familiar surroundings again 😄

I’m moving back to Chicago soon for college. Thanks for making this video, it made me super excited to go back!
Thanks so much for watching, it was a cool experience to come back after so long! Good luck with college, Chicago is a very fun place to go to school!

It's no better feeling than being a Packers fan living in Chicago
A one month CTA pass is now only 75$ !

Nicely done! ❤the 🏙️
Thanks for watching! Definitely a fun trip down memory lane 😁
I’m at Vinci right now based off of your recommendation
That is awesome to hear! We have great memories there 😄
We lived in the same building in old town! I lived there from 2017-2019

Click bait title. "Chicago, You've Changed".... ends the video on "a lot of the things are kinda same, Chicago is exactly how we left it" LOL
Appreciate you watching until the end 😁 Cheers!
the parts of town that have changed the most in the past 4 years are probably on the south side. bridgeport might be it
Use any card on your phone or wallet! You dont need a cta pass and haven't for years now. Jist scan your debit card for example
Oh cool, that’s so nice!! I remember when NYC switched over too, makes it so convenient!
Great video! Where do you live now?
OMG! You guys are Chelsea fans too?!
So cute
Thanks 😊
To live in those 3 neighborhoods you guys are balling out of control lol
6.50 for one iced coffee?😮
Isn’t that crazy!! Chicago can be very expensive, that is one aspect we don’t miss 😆

Whats changed
Don't come back
City life is a joke. Rats in a cage.
I fucking hate chicago. I live near it and it sucks and I hate it because it’s so bland and bad.
Chicago food is mediocre
Spoken like a true rube.
