CLxJames it also gived loooots of symbolism! Madoka says "I am the melon. When the melon breaks it creates a sweet dream.." Madoka had enough and decided to destroy every witch. She saw what Homura went through and every other magical girl. She made a world without witches. Another one would be when Mami said she is the cheese. Bebe's theme is is about cheese and apparently she became a magical girl to eat cheese again. Mami had her head bitten of by Bebe, hinting that she was Bebe's meal, the cheese. Rebellion had looooots of symbolism of everything that had happened prior to Rebellion. In the scene where all the magical girls transformed at the same time, the last few secs of every girls transformation you can see what happened to them. Sayaka looks like she is in a lot of grief, and thats how she became a witch, she succumbed to despair. Homura looks like she is reaching out for something; reaching for Madoka who became a goddess. I adore the movie! This was all unnecessary, im sorry, but I wanted to talk about this sooooo much!
I actually never finished watching rebellion and wasn't paying much attention to it because I was too busy with my studies when the movie came out D: But that comment chain somehow awoken my wish to watch it. Thank you guys a lot~
I love how it's like in the dream world so to speak, they're practically in a more traditional magical girl series, bright and cheery without any dark and tragic destiny, where the theme is that they save the day by singing adorably and having cake and tea parties to prevent nightmares XD
Well of course they're chock full of allusions and parallels to the series and hints subtly about the real situation, but aside from perhaps Sayaka and 'Bebe,' it's not like any of them are consciously aware of it at the time. On surface level, there's no denying that their means of fighting in the alternate reality (defeating bad dreams with a cutesy, cooperative singing game) presents a considerably less ominous picture of the type of world that's been set up, as compared to reality.
You’re right that it feels like a traditional magical girl show in the first 40 mins with the happy mood, the playful banter between the girls, the over the top poses and powers. It’s not until the scene with Homura and Kyoko having tea in that weird cage contraption that you realize something is definitely off and the dark vibes begin to creep back in. It’s brilliant how little by little the world around then seems more and more off
for anyone confused: Sayaka(raspberry)- because raspberries are always blue(sad). Kyoko(apple)- because it’s red(anger) and her past. mami(cheese)- because bebe likes cheese (ep.3) homura(pumpkin )- foreshadowing of her becoming a witch ( halloween) . Madoka(melon)- because she’s sweet and “ when a melon breaks a sweet dream is made“ is foreshadowing for when she’s split in half and placed in a fake world.
There's actually a lot of symbolism on this scene. During Sayaka's scene she covers her face with her hands, symbolizing her despair. Kyoko is the apple which is her favorite food. Mami is the cheese Charlotte favorite thing to eat 👀. Homura goes round and round, referring to her resetting time again and again to no avail. And Madoka of course, is sweet, with Homura reffering her as such, showing how much she admires her.
This is what people THOUGHT Madoka Magica was going to be. Happy, cute, non-sensical, and sorta creepy here and there but eh, every show has its moments (Even Sesame Street can have sorta creepy parts).
The fact that they perform this in around a pentagram shape and chant the words in a song like a spell reminds me that all magical girls are inherently witches on the inside.
Hands down, best scene in the whole series. It encompasses everything from the subtle cruelties and sadness found within the series to the personalities of the characters and the chilling feeling that it all generates. Love. this. scene.
One of my favourite parts of Rebelliion is that it gave a chance to see all the interactions between the characters you never got a chance to see in the show. Like Kyouko and Sayaka chasing each other and playing fighting, and Madoka and Homura spending time together, all of them fighting together side by side, and just having fun together in a way they couldn't before. It didn't last long, but it was so nice while it lasted. I nearly split my head with my grin when I watched the early parts of the film. So adorable!
There is a big (eerie) backstory to this song. You see, Mami is cheese because Bebe and at the beginning of the movie she says "turn into cheese" to indicate her transformation. Bebe thinks Mami looks like cheese when she transforms, which is why Charlotte at Mami. - Sayaka is a raspberry, because although she is sweet, she has a strong bitter/sour tone to herself. - Madoka is the melon. They say she is sweet. When a melon breaks, it creates a sweet dream. This makes an immense amount of connections between Madoka's personality and their melon metaphor. - Homura is the pumpkin. Before they say suggest she's the cake, the point out the circle goes round and round in circles. Seem familiar? Anyways, she is the pumpkin, because she puts on a strong mask on the outside, but she's soft on the outside; also, she never fades away. - Kyoko is the apple. I know this sounds stupid, but maybe it's because apples are red? I'm honestly not sure about this what. Maybe it's because she's strong, and has a lot of variety in her personality? Or because she stole apples all the time in the series? I'm not sure.
For Kyoko, I felt like apples represent the sin/regret of her wish and the selfish attitude she adopts in order to survive and not be filled with grief. She offers the apple to Sayaka in the original series as a way of trying to convince Sayaka to adopt Kyoko's ideals and to avoid being filled with regret. I feel like the apple isn't necessarily sharing actual characteristics of Kyoko but rather it represents the motives and ideals of her character.
I think that's a reference to her father, who was seen as a heretic by his church. I'm pretty sure she's Roman Catholic, and apples are used to represent the Fruit of Knowledge.
Autumn White NO, she can't be Roman Catholic, because her father was a priest and in the Catholic church a priest can't have a family or children, he must swear to celibacy. But Kyoko and her family are definitely Christians, so I guess they are either Protestants or some kind of "new age" Catholics, where priests can marry.
I wonder how they managed to convince Kyouko to sing this song with them? It doesn't seem like something she'd sing given how she puts on this badass image most of the time.
Nice callback. The sequence where Bebe almost attacked Mami but stopped mid-strike. Bebe never did that for any other other girls but Mami. Disturbing detail if you seen the series
What's strange is that Mami says that cake "goes in circles", yet, she breaks the order of the circle by passing the turn to Homura, who sits across the table (even though she should have passed it to Madoka, who was sitting right next to her).
I've been pondering over the meaning behind this scene in particular ever since the movie came out. The best i can come up with is that it represents how the girls themselves are used as "fuel" or food to stop their enemy. As the goal of the Incubators are using the magical girls to stop entropy, thats pretty much the best i can come up with. Regardless i love this scene, it has such charm to it
Still....that's one huge order of a cake the girls made... And all you need are Apples, raspberries, cheese, pumpkins, and melons! Oh and some creepy foreshadowing ingredients with a Bebe on top.
Madoka and DHMIS both started off cute and light hearted, and both turned out to be dark, gory and deep shit. I can actually see Red Guy as Homura (kind of cold and sassy, tried to save someone but failed miserably, reset the timeline)
One thing I noticed is how for the first three girls, they go singing in the order they're seated at the table (Sayaka - Kyouko - Mami; you can see this at 0:54), but then Mami, instead of asking if the cake is the next person seated (that being Madoka), goes and asks Homura, who is literally ACROSS THE TABLE FROM HER, catching her off-guard. Might not have been intentional, but I wanted to point that out because it seemed strange to me.
I thought it was just a tribute to Charlotte's song in "Beginnings" - the very catchy "Cheese, cheese, where is the cheese?". It was obviously much deeper than that!
"I am the melon. When a melon breaks, a sweet dream is created." - Madoka (SPOILERS) This refers to Madoka being "broken" off from the Law of Cycles by Homura at the end of the movie. Homura becomes a demon and creates a "sweet dream" in which Madoka is allowed to live with her friends and family, and the magical girls do not suffer. All of this, however, is at the price of the universe; inside Homura's world, magical girls do not produce energy to counter entropy, and as such, the universe will eventually run out of usable energy and die. Hence, a sweet dream, to cover up the impending doom. So much foreshadowing. God I love this movie. Don't even get me started on the transformation sequence...
It's funny how many somblisms exist in just a simple song. Sayaka is Raspberry. Raspberries tend to come in blue, her theme color. Furthermore? Raspberry is considered the healing fruit in Japan, reference to her powers. Notably, Sayaka uses "watashi" instead of "atashi", she probably did that because she wanted to be more formal after becoming part of Law of Cycles. Kyoko is Apple/Cake is red. Apples are red and Kyoko is associated with fruits (her and her sister's name translates to a fruit) Mami is Cheese/Cake loves Bebe. Bebe and Mami have a mother daughter-ish relationship in the movie. Cheese is Bebe/Nagisa's favourite food and Mami is yellow like it. Homura is Pumpkin/Cake goes round in circles. That's tricky like Mami's. It refers to Homura's timelines repetition but none of the Magical Girls except Ultimate Madoka are aware of that fact. How does Mami know? Pumpkins are associated with Witches in Halloween, the movie aired near Halloween. This foreshadows how Homura doesn't know that she's a Witch. Madoka is Melon/Cake is sweet. Madoka is a sweet girl and the melon break things refers to another foreshadow. In the end of the movie, Madoka and Ultimate Madoka are completely separated from each other. Akuma Homura creates a new world ("It creates a sweet dream")
"I am the cheese!" And then everyone goes D : nooo. Bebe even lunges at her. Easily the most unnerving scene in the whole movie because it's so accurate on portraying each character in the previous films. The apple also really got to me.
Also there's the fun thing about Madoka Magica. There is alays that feeling of "something here is happening and its hinted, gotta pay attention at every single detail"
@@leahsarah275 you know the Madoka verse is screwed up when the characters acting like good friends while smiling, singing and having a good time is a cause for alarm
1. Red (death) 2. Love "Bebe" (did it for love) 3. Goes Round (timeloops) 4. Sweet (was being sincere) 5. Breaks, brings sweet dreams (stopped, everything fine for far) 6. Tonight is bitter (something is wrong) 7. Cat on the table (Kyubey is here) 8. Everyone eat up (enjoy the show) Ah.
When i first watched the movie I had found this scene somewhat cute, but watching it again, and considering the Madoka Magica universe, this is creepy as hell ;-;
The fact the melon line regarding Madoka literally foreshadows the ending of Rebellion is just *chef's kiss* I am so glad I finally bit the bullet and watched the series and movies!
1:17 “when a melon breaks, it creates a sweet dream” to me, it’s a clear foreshadowing to the ending minutes of the movie. God Madoka is being teared apart by Homura, letting her create the ideal world she has always dreamt of. But, it is just a dream after all. 1:30 may be referring to the cat we see in the opening of the main series, which is the reason Madoka made her wish in the first timeline (cat got ran over by a car and she used her wish to save it)
Mami: I am the cheese Me: PFFFTTT. *Dies on the inside cause we all know how Bebe feels about chomping down on some things, including but not limited to cheese.*
The intentional irony, when Bebe's favorite food is cheese and the one who says that is the cheese is Mami and her pair of Mamies, because she is the one who was eaten by her lolo She gave her a head....
what.....dafuq did I just watch...................... (finds Uboruchi's house and breaks the door down) DAFUQ SORT OF DRUGS ARE YOU GIVING MY BRAIN!!???
You need to interrogate Urobuchi Batman style... TsukiHikariOkami: Where were the other drugs going!!!?!! Urobuchi: I never knew. I don't know. I swear to God... TsukiHikariOkami: Swear to *me*!
One of the trippiest things about this movie was Mami making an adorable pet out of the very thing that killed her, and that it's actually cute even as a worm. Like bih I didn't see that coming.
For anyone who is asking what they just watched, you just watched how a "nightmare", the monster that Puella Magi fight in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica 3rd movie "Rebellion Story", was defeated.
Oh! Don't get it? (SPOILERS ALERT) Sayaka is a raspberry, a nod to that she is voiced by Eri Kitamura who also voices Cure Berry. They also share names, Miki Aono, signature colors, blue; and uniform designs. Kyoko is an apple, a red apple, which is her colour, it's also her signature food (aside from the pocky), it symbolizes the Original Sin in the Catholic religion, of which Kyoko belongs. Mami is a cheese, which is yellow, her signature color. It's liked by Bebe, Bebe is Charlotte who once ate Mami's head, Charlotte is Nagisa, whose wish to become a Magical Girl was to get to eat cheese with her terminally ill mother only one more time. Homura is something that goes round in circles, like her time resets. Homura is a pumpkin, the pumpkin is the symbol of the Halloween, the Night of the Witches, Homura is actually a witch in this movie. Madoka is a melon, which is stated to be sweet by Homura, but when it's broken there will be sweet dreams, when Madoka caused a world without witches, she was vanished from the phisical plane; but this dream is bitter, because it's not real, it's a Witch's Barrier.
extorchic Madoka was also 'Broken' off from the Law of Cycles at the end of the movie, creating an arguably illusory world where everyone's happy: a 'sweet dream'.
Fun fact! In the original PMMM anime, Charlotte actually eats Mami as opposed to killing her because she looks like her favorite food- cheese! Hence why she is the cheese in the Cake Song!
This is the scariest scene in the movie. You expect a jumpscare at any moment, but it doesn't even happen. Instead, you get the eery feeling that someone is laughing at you.
cannot agree more lmao
I was wondering when Mami is going to lose her head when i first watched this scene.
Xsior tbh, this story would be much better (for the characters) when Sayaka made the wish first before Mami encountered Charlotte :c

I've become Fandom Trash oops no please continue!
I actually never finished watching rebellion and wasn't paying much attention to it because I was too busy with my studies when the movie came out D:
But that comment chain somehow awoken my wish to watch it. Thank you guys a lot~
I love how it's like in the dream world so to speak, they're practically in a more traditional magical girl series, bright and cheery without any dark and tragic destiny, where the theme is that they save the day by singing adorably and having cake and tea parties to prevent nightmares XD
Do you even know the truth about these lyrics?
Well of course they're chock full of allusions and parallels to the series and hints subtly about the real situation, but aside from perhaps Sayaka and 'Bebe,' it's not like any of them are consciously aware of it at the time. On surface level, there's no denying that their means of fighting in the alternate reality (defeating bad dreams with a cutesy, cooperative singing game) presents a considerably less ominous picture of the type of world that's been set up, as compared to reality.
Yeah, I just meant that the creators are brilliant and pretty good at coming up with these kinds of things. I myself love them like this.
It’s brilliant how little by little the world around then seems more and more off
yES a Tea PArty whERe they Just might get eaten, very chill ver sweet.
for anyone confused:
Sayaka(raspberry)- because raspberries are always blue(sad).
Kyoko(apple)- because it’s red(anger) and her past.
mami(cheese)- because bebe likes cheese (ep.3)
homura(pumpkin )- foreshadowing of her becoming a witch ( halloween) .
Madoka(melon)- because she’s sweet and “ when a melon breaks a sweet dream is made“ is foreshadowing for when she’s split in half and placed in a fake world.
what raspberry is BLUE???
There's actually a lot of symbolism on this scene. During Sayaka's scene she covers her face with her hands, symbolizing her despair. Kyoko is the apple which is her favorite food. Mami is the cheese Charlotte favorite thing to eat 👀. Homura goes round and round, referring to her resetting time again and again to no avail. And Madoka of course, is sweet, with Homura reffering her as such, showing how much she admires her.
Oh, and Madoka being the one to break the sweet dream once she is broken
1:07 Kyoko and Sayaka are just like DON'T FUCK IT UP HOMURA
@cristal star yeah
Mami: im a the cheese. literally a cheese.
Only a heado
A cheese cake to be precise
This is what people THOUGHT Madoka Magica was going to be. Happy, cute, non-sensical, and sorta creepy here and there but eh, every show has its moments (Even Sesame Street can have sorta creepy parts).
The fact that they perform this in around a pentagram shape and chant the words in a song like a spell reminds me that all magical girls are inherently witches on the inside.
Agreed
It has a very “occult” feel to it that is kind of refreshing
mAMI IS THE CHEESE I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO LAUGH OR CRY
ASI9JUYSHIOSYR89RIDS8OIDYHDFIUFHERURYRSIURYR8IREUEW9 YOU MADE ME REALIZE NOW 7UHAW7YU7E8EUIAKLK
Bebe likes cheese.
Bebe likes Mami too.
Bebe eats cheese.
Bebe tried eating Mami too, but she didn't taste like cheese. :(
Head cheese?
***** x'D
***** I imagined this as if it was in the rhythm of the cake song
Madoka: ONE WATERMELON FRESH FROM THE MANURE FIELDS, YOUR SPOOKINESS
Was that a spongebob reference?
that literally almost killed me omg
HAHA, good one. Love that show!
XD
There is a big (eerie) backstory to this song.
You see, Mami is cheese because Bebe and at the beginning of the movie she says "turn into cheese" to indicate her transformation. Bebe thinks Mami looks like cheese when she transforms, which is why Charlotte at Mami.
-
Sayaka is a raspberry, because although she is sweet, she has a strong bitter/sour tone to herself.
-
Madoka is the melon. They say she is sweet. When a melon breaks, it creates a sweet dream. This makes an immense amount of connections between Madoka's personality and their melon metaphor.
-
Homura is the pumpkin. Before they say suggest she's the cake, the point out the circle goes round and round in circles. Seem familiar? Anyways, she is the pumpkin, because she puts on a strong mask on the outside, but she's soft on the outside; also, she never fades away.
-
Kyoko is the apple.
There's also the fact that Kyouko carries apples with her often.
Pretty sure the pumpkin is a reference to Homura being a witch.
I wonder how they managed to convince Kyouko to sing this song with them? It doesn't seem like something she'd sing given how she puts on this badass image most of the time.
Watch the movie, it will make sense then.
slowdude I did and now I get it. She sang to help save Hitomi, that makes sense.
You stopped this video at EXACTLY the right spot. I don't want to see Charlotte's gaping mouth zooming in at me in HD.
Aww...I wanted to make a Nostalgia Critic Kazaam joke...
KrimzonFlygon1 Just Green Egg and Ham it.
Well, if you say so...
Oh my GOD, CHARLOTTE'S GONNA *EAT ME*!!!
Oddly enough, Mami once had a thought very similar to your last sentence.
And then she stopped thinking altogether.
nothri this comment made me laugh and then it made me cry :'(
THE CAKE IS A LIE
What a scam. >:(
Questo commento é oro
0:45 I totally thought it was going to eat Mami...again. O_O
0:47 No, not me!
I am the cheese!
I AM THE BEST CHARACTER ON THIS SHOW.
I AM BETTER THAN BOTH THE SALAMI AND THE BOLOGNA COMBINED.
I was not expecting a comment referencing Rocko’s Modern Life, gave me a good laugh.
Hmm.
Regardless i love this scene, it has such charm to it
I can imagine how much fun Ms. Kajiura had when she wrote that rap song. She really is wonderful artist.
Yuki Kajiura: I make songs that invoke the darkness and despair of the characters
Also Yuki Kajiura: _LOL. Let me make a rap song about cake_
Bebe's creepy as hell when she circles around the Puella Magi in her giant snake form, no wonder Homura was scared of her when she got too close.....
The cake is a lie
OmniTerror SM64 reference ftw! ;)
Still....that's one huge order of a cake the girls made...
And all you need are
Apples, raspberries, cheese, pumpkins, and melons!
Oh and some creepy foreshadowing ingredients with a Bebe on top.
+Poshie Po I shouldn't laugh this much... ^_^
Yum
reminds me of Don't Hug me I'm Scared... am I alone here? :(
Nope!
Madoka and DHMIS both started off cute and light hearted, and both turned out to be dark, gory and deep shit.
I can actually see Red Guy as Homura (kind of cold and sassy, tried to save someone but failed miserably, reset the timeline)
This is the most disturbing (and adorable) song in anime ever, especially if you know the dark meanings between the lines. *shivers*
A lot of characterization in this scene. Basically gets to the heart of who they all are.
I'm just hyped to see how the English dub handles this song.
am i the only one who found this creepy as fuck
NOPE
The whole movie is so bizarre.
Might not have been intentional, but I wanted to point that out because it seemed strange to me.
i was honestly confused when this came up...
So was I, buddy.
I thought it was just a tribute to Charlotte's song in "Beginnings" - the very catchy "Cheese, cheese, where is the cheese?". It was obviously much deeper than that!
Idranoid I think we all were
The point of the game is to deny you're the cake. If you don't do that, then you're by default the cake, and Bebe/Charlotte will eat you.
"I am the melon. When a melon breaks, a sweet dream is created." - Madoka
(SPOILERS)
This refers to Madoka being "broken" off from the Law of Cycles by Homura at the end of the movie.
Kristen Eldridge but aren’t the incubators producing the energy in that new universe?
Alien attack!
Throw the CHEEEEEESE!!!!
Thank God Mami didn't get her head bit off. I seriously thought she might have been the "cake" for a moment.
Miles Edgelord
Yeah, Mami got aHEAD of death.
"I am the melon, when the melon breaks, it creates a sweet dream."
Such Madoka, much truth, wow.
"I am the cheese! I am the best magical girl on the show! I am better than both the melon and the pumpkin combined!"
Hey, somebody had to say it.
Bebe: *becomes a Witch after wishing for a cheesecake*
Mami: "I am the cheese!"
Oh i love how sayaka says raspberry.. So cute^^
Apples are red and Kyoko is associated with fruits (her and her sister's name translates to a fruit)
Mami is Cheese/Cake loves Bebe.
These worlds are like how my mind would be if i was on intense drugs
or rather my mind every time I let it wander... *goes into own little world of randomness* (also, sorry for really late reply)
This sounds like a great song to sing at birthday parties or any parties that have cake! :3
Joseph Lara
I shall have a Madoka themed Birthday now.
HAHA HELP
No one's gonna mention how enthusiastic Bebe was when the cake was passed to Mami?
Sayaka seems to especially enjoy the song.
"I am the cheese!" And then everyone goes D : nooo. Bebe even lunges at her. Easily the most unnerving scene in the whole movie because it's so accurate on portraying each character in the previous films. The apple also really got to me.
'when the melon breaks it is a sweet dream'
end of movie: madoka breaks into two: alternate 'reality' that is 'happiness' for madoka
Also there's the fun thing about Madoka Magica. There is alays that feeling of "something here is happening and its hinted, gotta pay attention at every single detail"
Thinking of the original series, that scene seemed so creepy to me...
Especially the "Mami is the cheese" part. That explains everything. 0.0 but I still thought this scene was kind of cute.
tbh when i first saw this film, this scene gave me a LOT of anxiety
@@leahsarah275 you know the Madoka verse is screwed up when the characters acting like good friends while smiling, singing and having a good time is a cause for alarm
Pipe dream of the century, ladies and gentlemen.
Try 'fever dream' of the century. That or "I really shouldn't have eaten those spicy creamed artichokes before bed" dream of the century.
1. Red (death)
2. Love "Bebe" (did it for love)
3. Goes Round (timeloops)
4. Sweet (was being sincere)
5. Breaks, brings sweet dreams (stopped, everything fine for far)
6. Tonight is bitter (something is wrong)
7. Cat on the table (Kyubey is here)
8. Everyone eat up (enjoy the show)
Ah.
When i first watched the movie I had found this scene somewhat cute, but watching it again, and considering the Madoka Magica universe, this is creepy as hell ;-;
I want to be Charlotte and eat the cake, yum
Ngl,the first time i saw this movie my jaw dropped when they revealed that bebe is actually the "thing" that ate mami in previous season 😭
The fact the melon line regarding Madoka literally foreshadows the ending of Rebellion is just *chef's kiss* I am so glad I finally bit the bullet and watched the series and movies!
The ending was foreshadowed ever since May of 2011 in Oriko Magica. This franchise is a gift.
1:17 “when a melon breaks, it creates a sweet dream” to me, it’s a clear foreshadowing to the ending minutes of the movie. God Madoka is being teared apart by Homura, letting her create the ideal world she has always dreamt of. But, it is just a dream after all. 1:30 may be referring to the cat we see in the opening of the main series, which is the reason Madoka made her wish in the first timeline (cat got ran over by a car and she used her wish to save it)
Some other commenters speculated that the cat represents Kyubey and they are "training" bebe is eat kyubey
"The round cake is sweet" "The cake is madoka?"
AWW THAT WAS CUTE
Okay, but Homura's part was just so cute, the way she stutters was adorable.
I get it,
Red is Kyoko because of her red hair
Mami loves Bebe
Homura is nervous which means going in circles
Madoka is just freakin' nice and sweet
WE'RE MAKING IT OUT OF THE LABYRINTH WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔊🔊🔊💯💯🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🗣️🙏💯🗣️💯🙏🔥🔥🔊🗣️
💀
After reading the comments I decided to pay attention at what the girls say.
"The cake goes round and round. Is the cake Homura?"
Mind = BLOWN
AHHHH
Best way to fight evil: Chant about cake.
This is so nostalgic. My brother showed this to me when I was like 8 yrs old. I played this 24/7
Oof
Mami: I am the cheese
Me: PFFFTTT. *Dies on the inside cause we all know how Bebe feels about chomping down on some things, including but not limited to cheese.*
The intentional irony, when Bebe's favorite food is cheese and the one who says that is the cheese is Mami and her pair of Mamies, because she is the one who was eaten by her lolo
She gave her a head....
I've see Rebellion all the way through at this point. ad this is still one of the most demented things in it to me.
what.....dafuq did I just watch......................
(finds Uboruchi's house and breaks the door down)
DAFUQ SORT OF DRUGS ARE YOU GIVING MY BRAIN!!???
Don't tell me that you didn't enjoy the trip
well frack yes I did. I want me and all of my friends to go eat out at dinner and start singing this just to freak the crap out of people
I think Urobuchi was on drugs when he wrote it.
Transfer of hallucinogens through visual exposure.
You need to interrogate Urobuchi Batman style...
TsukiHikariOkami: Where were the other drugs going!!!?!!
Urobuchi: I never knew. I don't know. I swear to God...
TsukiHikariOkami: Swear to *me*!
I came back to watch this years later, And I didn't realize it but there are so many secret meanings to it...
Sayaka Miki = Raspberry = Cure Berry = Miki Aono = Eri Kitamura= Sayaka Miki.
One of the trippiest things about this movie was Mami making an adorable pet out of the very thing that killed her, and that it's actually cute even as a worm. Like bih I didn't see that coming.
I just realized something. The fact the Homura chose the pumpkin foreshadowed her turning into a witch.
Pumpkin = Halloween
Get it?
For anyone who is asking what they just watched, you just watched how a "nightmare", the monster that Puella Magi fight in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica 3rd movie "Rebellion Story", was defeated.
NOOO. THE CAKE IS A LIE GUYS. IT'S A LIIIIIEEEEEE
omg
I still don't understand this scene. But I still like it XD
Madoka is a melon, which is stated to be sweet by Homura, but when it's broken there will be sweet dreams, when Madoka caused a world without witches, she was vanished from the phisical plane; but this dream is bitter, because it's not real, it's a Witch's Barrier.
extorchic somebody did their research
extorchic
That's some deep stuff, man XD
extorchic
Madoka was also 'Broken' off from the Law of Cycles at the end of the movie, creating an arguably illusory world where everyone's happy: a 'sweet dream'.
The final soul gem Homura has also resembles a pumpkin.
By this point I officially had no trust in this movie and expected my head to be in more pieces than Homura's timelines
This feels creepier when you realise this is eerily similar to Bebe/Charlotte's theme.
Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed this song (and the whole opening bit) the best. The whole tune is strangely catchy...
Ummmmm okaaaay just when I thought this show couldn't get any more demented...
I have indeed I adore it in all it's weirdness
This is such a catchy song why
Fun fact! In the original PMMM anime, Charlotte actually eats Mami as opposed to killing her because she looks like her favorite food- cheese! Hence why she is the cheese in the Cake Song!
This just makes me feel like they're summoning a demon.
But they couldn't be summoning a demon.
Homura is already there ----
*shIIITTTT*
I wanna be able to go into a café, yell "Cake! Cake! A round, round cake! This round, round cake, who could it be?" And everybody understands
0:13 XD I would've fainted dead away.
1:00
What? Pumpkin? P-Pumpkin, what? What? What?
PUMPKIN, WHAT?!?
Ike Garvey Plus, well, I can think of another similarity, but before I do, have you both finished Rebellion?
Ike Garvey alright, then you know how Homura turns into a witch, right? And pumpkins are associated with witches.
Ike Garvey You said you finished Madoka Magica: Rebellion, so you should know that about Homura.
Ike Garvey I know, I mean that in general pumpkins are associated with witches, not for Madoka Magica in particular.
Ike Garvey no, Halloween often has witch and pumpkin related things
