I was super super ready and well prepared for what transportation to take to the Asahiyama before I went to Asahikawa, but ended up went to the zoo using taxi and learned my lesson that is it expensive but SUPER WORTH TO SEE THE CUTE PENGUINS

I’m planning to visit Japan (Osaka and Hokkaido) this winter, and was wondering if places will still be open during New Year’s Eve/New Years. I heard many places close from December 31 to January 3. Is this true? Thanks in advance!❤

Hello. Yes, it is true. Asahiyama zoo closes from 30 Dec - 1 Jan. but opens from 2 Jan.! Please check the homepage before you visit.

I went on a day trip to Kobe on 1st January and almost all shops closed in Motomachi Shopping Street, but in the Chinatown area they're still open. Then in the afternoon I went to Dotonbori, most shops still open though..
