thank you Joni! Real time tutorials were the top request on my poll a couple months ago, so I started making more like this. :) I love your recent painting as well!!
A long video but certainly well worth watching. You sure are an amazing artist and teacher. Was great to watch the grass and shadow at the side of the barn just appearing and then the fence with its highlights and shadow. Brilliant. 👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Amazing presentation, as well as detailed explanation started from colors using... congratulation on the master piece, l can lear a lot from you... best regards...🖼🧑🏻🎨👌👍
Stoof, I just finished my first painting, I’m quite proud of it, since your video was my teacher, as I’ve never had an art class, I thought you’d like to see, but I can’t find a way to share with you.
Hi Jill - sorry for the very late response - just saw this comment now. You can share your painting with me on facebook, instagram, or email it to me! My Facebook art page: facebook.com/thepaintingstoof IG: @steph_moraca_fine_art email: stoof23@gmail.com
I love this tutorial and your technique. Very easy to follow. What color did you use for the underpainting? Are you using acrylics or oils in this painting?
Omg this painting is stunning!!!!!💖💖💖💖💖 I absolutely LOVE it!!!! The wheat grass technique you taught us is brilliant!!! & so realistic looking!!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to try it!!! Bless you!💖💞😘
Hi there! Very beautiful autumn barn Steph! I really love how to explain everything you do! Congrats for this beautiful tutorial painting! Have a great day!
Watched this, it started at 927 PM up to 1048 PM. It's so nice to watch painting in real-time. Seeing details good, better and to impressive! From scratch to finish. Great job, my friend! Can I have this one? Thanks for waking up my sleeping hidden frustration, hahaha! Have a nice day! Keep safe, my friend! Request: Mayon Volcano in Albay or Banawe Rice Terraces in Benguet, both are from the Philippines, or my latest sunset video. Thanks, my friend! Please stay connected. L61
I'm the same with my brushes... Im having to cut little frayed hairs off so I can keep using them for fine line work! Great painting Stu, I love that gold colour field with the red of the barn. I like how you mapped it out too. Ps we don't have anything like that here in Oz (red barns that is) take care! 💙
New brushes... so nice! Love this scene and the texture you achieved in those foreground grasses. Lovely to know that frayed brushes are still useful (I reckon there might be a life lesson in that!!) I don't think I have ever seen a red barn like this in real life so it has a kind of picture book fairy tale quality to it - delightful to watch you paint it.
aw very true about the frayed brushes! thanks for your kind comment! :) I have seen a couple red barns like this, but it's definitely not something I see every day living in the suburbs of Pittsburgh!
Hey beautiful! Fun to use new brushes!! Lovely.. I like how the wheat 🌾 turned out. Looking forward to your self portrait one later today! Did you colour your hair? Looks so cool on the thumbnail!!
hi Terri! If you want this to fit 18x24 dimensions with a landscape orientation, I recommend cropping off some of the grasses below the fence (bottom of canvas, nearest in foreground) and adding a bit more of the landscape to the left of the barn. If you'd like 18x24 in vertical orientation, just crop off the right side of the scene. :) Happy painting!
Thank you so much for considering my request & for sharing this amazing painting Steph!!👍I can't thank you enough!! This is so beautiful and cute at the same time!!👌♥️... this time I have all the necessary colours but in oil though!!Can I do this in oils??... take care friend!!👍& stay safe!! You are so kind & a wonderful human being!!👍.. May God bless you, your loved ones & your family with his best blessings!💐
thanks so much David! Yes, this can definitely be painted in oils! If you follow this tutorial format, you'll just need to allow the base layer of paint to dry before adding details. You just have to be a little more cautious so the colors don't blend together. Have fun painting! :)
Very beautiful. My only critique is that the fence looks TOO perfect. Heck my fence is only ten years old and it's already missing boards and a little crooked. But overall it was a wonderful tutorial, thank you 😁
Totally love this! Only complaint is that I am a bit hard of hearing and the background music is a tad bit too loud and I cannot always hear the instructions. But your work and teaching is brilliant.
thanks very much Erin! Sorry about that, I did receive similar feedback on this tutorial and adjusted my music volume down much more for recent tutorials. Glad you liked the painting! :)
Hi I've just recently seen this and did this painting. Would like to tag you on instagram but dont know how to? 😅 Do you have a tag? Or page I can follow there too?
I am enjoying your videos very much. The music is a little distracting making it hard to here you at times. Could you perhaps turn it down some? Keep up the videos!
First time to view your channel. Your voice was pleasing but I'm sorry the music was annoying. I loved the painting and instructions so I'll be back unless the music stays the same.
Thanks Betty - this video is 3 years old and I have improved audio and quality of sound since this one was released. Unfortunately I can't do anything about the audio in this specific video. Happy painting!
Unfortunately I edited and posted that video with the audio edited in before uploading to RUclips, so there is no way for me to remove the music or turn it down. It sounded more muted on my computer before uploading. I don't have the original footage anymore, but I can make a new barn painting tutorial. Thanks for sharing your comment - you were not the only one that thought the music was too loud.
Your whole process was mesmerizing! Great tutorial! Must try! Thank you so very much for sharing! ❤❤❤

I was wondering kind of desktop easel you use? Or if you have a favorite one?... love the painting btw. Of course 💚
Great tutorial Steph :)
thank you Ethan!
Have you tried the boiling water tip to fix your frayed brushes?
I have not tried that! I like some brushes frayed though, it gives nice brushstrokes for grasses and hair
Great video
thanks
绝对专业!
太棒了。
you are so talented, i wish i can paint like that! take care my friend :)
aw thanks!
Impressive acrylic painting. Well done 👍. Which color you use to cover the canvas before you start painting?? It looks like burnt umber??
Yes, correct!

Great video, love the painting! Background music however drove me nuts...
Any tips or ideas for making this larger? I need something more like 18" x 24".

Hi Sherry! Thank you very much for the feedback. I can turn the music down more in future real time tutorials so it's easier to hear my voice! :)
First time to view your channel. Your voice was pleasing but I'm sorry the music was annoying. I loved the painting and instructions so I'll be back unless the music stays the same.

I love your tutorial, but wouldn't mind doing without the music in the background.
thanks Vickie! I had a couple other comments like this and I took the advice- more recent videos have music turned down :) thanks for the feedback!
Would prefer if you had no music. I can’t concentrate 😢.
