I'm learning this piece currently, and I have to say I was initially not convinced of these piece's authenticity. However, now I am, after hearing it being played. Thank you
I think baroque prestos are generally slower than classical or romantic pieces, for example bwv1030 3rd and Brandenburg 4 3rd movement are all not so "fast", yet they are all prestos. overall the tempo mark is only for indicative purpose and by no means is it setting a specific speed at which you should perform a piece. bach himself didn't even put tempo mark in many of his pieces.

there is rec of lugansky playing this at 19 it is the clearest cleanest most rythmic bach i ever heard.
Yes! As good as this is, I've never heard it better than Lugansky. It's a thing of wonder.
