You can’t beat the old fashioned way by using a steel but there are many I guess who don’t know how to use them but once mastered they can put a razor sharp edge on a blade.

All my kitchen knives are super sharp.

That "1 Minute" sure felt like "8 minutes, 48 seconds" to me! But this is one of the best ways to sharpen a knife; that is if you can't hold the blade at the correct angle during many passes over the stone. This is a cheap copy of the best sharpening systems sold today.

I'm sorry, but the final result wasn't that impressive. You were still struggling making precise cuts in the tomato and the paper test was decent but the cut was still rough. The concept is solid but you need to make sure the angle of the grinding stone is optimal and you need to test different strokes to get better results. Don't forget to finish-up with a leather strop to get a perfect, razor sharp knife.

That is a chef's knife. You do not use a sawing motion with a chef's knife. The weight of it is in the back. You take the tip and you go to the other side of whatever you're cutting. Put it over the top put the tip down and then you push the knife forward which lose the knife from the tip all the way to the back of the knife and you do it all in one motion that's our chef's knife is supposed to be used. Not a sawing motion it's not designed for that.
