My folks bought one of these new back in the 1980’s and it really was an underrated car in its day. Certainly no sports car off the line but super comfortable on those long road trips is where it really shined
Even sitting in one today, you can still tell they were special and they do feel old School luxury, I really like the centre console with driver and passenger flip Astrays, very similar design to the VN-VS Astrays but better positioned with 2
Very nice, any of those models would be great, I love the HQ, I know for the WB they wanted to move away from the look of HQ but I think the HQ Kingswood and Statesman’s were a great design in their own right..
Awesome looking vehicles. I always liked the look of the HTD Magnum version. It's become a very rare vehicle. I also remember the factory 350 chev engine in the HQ statesmen what vehicle very rare these days. Something for the enthusiast to have. Keep up the great work. 👍 👌😎🇦🇺🍻
I’ve seen a few Magnums in the flesh, love the colour coding, super rare and they have that magic Brock touch, the HQ 350 last of the line for the Chevs until the series 2 VT
The last caprice was manufactured in Adelaide in December 1985- that vehicle was on display until recently at the former Echuca Holden Museum. The tall diff made the WB an excellent cruiser which I know from personal experience. Of interest on WB Statesman, as a no cost option, it could be ordered with a front bench seat.
They were a very special car, I’ve never seen one with a bench seat, that would be super rare indeed.. have to say I really love the centre Console in the WB, with the 2 Ashtrays which are a very similar flip design as VN-VS Commodore.
I found one with a bench & column shift. Mate bought it for parts in the early 2000s. An 84 WB2 Deville in Avocado exterior and green interior trim. It was the itchy tweed fabric on the bench and had wind-up windows. I still have the back end off that car (never got around to building a BBQ out of it).
Thanks for your feedback and opinion. You can go back to narrating in your “exciting way” I am well aware it is Statesman Deville & Statesman Caprice for WB (it is all over the images in the Video). For simplicity the younger generation often refer to the Holden Statesman & Holden Caprice branding which is in line with GMH’s later branding VQ onwards.

What a rare find 🤞I know the colour you are talking about. You should go the bbq thing haha
The front bench seat option was only available in the Deville series 2
Bet there were not many, I hope to see one with the bench seat one day🙂
Jesus….. “mr boring” narrating this. Ffs. 🤦🏻♂️ and…. It was the Statesman Caprice and Deville, not the “Statesman Caprice and Statesman”

@@GTZ05 buts it’s not a VQ or later. It’s all about WB and its roots from HQ so it is very simply a “Statesman Deville and Caprice”….. nothing else.
