Anesthetise (live in Tilburg). They are one of the best live bands out there - this version may even sound better than the album version - and Gavin’s drumming on this song is some of the best rock drumming I’ve ever heard.
Steven Wilson , the lead singer/songwriter of Porcupine Tree, is a solo artist, engineer ( the whole King Crimson catalogue , Yes , Jethro Tull , Tears For Fears....), and a producer , including Opeth's Blackwater Park and Deliverance/Damnation.....and is one of Mikael Akerfelts best friends. I am 54 ( same as Steven Wilson) and find his style, influences ,and tastes right up my alley. He is absolutely progressive, but he hates labels. This song is about a serial killer, which is why it is brilliantly juxtaposed with the beautiful sections. It is from the killers point of view. Check out their latest Harridan.....by the way, the drummer, Gavin Harrison, is one of the BEST drummers alive....or ever.
Porcupine Tree is my fav. band didn’t discover them until 2017 :( and it was lifechanging for me. It’s a very diverse band from psychedelic Pink Floydish songs to more poppy melody driven over to more heavy songs. As you seem to like the latter more, I recommend: “Cheating the Polygraph” live from the “Anesthetize” album or “Hatesong” live from the “Arriving somewhere” album. Thanks for the reaction 😊. Greetings from Denmark.
Their albums In Absentia, Deadwing and Fear of a Blank Planet were the soundtrack of my teenage youth. Crazy huh. This album is loosely themed around serial killers, this song is for sure about that subject. It's very cool song because you would think it might be a love song but quite the opposite, I guess. Nice pick!
Super reaction, You should defo check out more from these, my fave band, fantastic live and Steven Wilson is a genius.. these guys take you on a journey! Yes the acoustic Does come out sometimes 😁 hard to choose my fav album or track but if you have 17 mins then check out anesthetize live, arriving somewhere but not here live is also a great watch, take the journey man. 👍
I discovered this great band in 2010, listen to all their albums, and became my first reference to alternative progressive rock. I mean I like Pink Floyd but I love PTree. Pd. Wanted to have a sense explosion? No doubt Anesthetized (live) or Deadwing were the ones for that. 😎 Saludos Bro.
This is a sweet song about a serial killer. Drummer, Gavin Harrison is, imho, the best ever, but not demonstrated on this track. Hate Song live in Chicago is mind blowing.
I can see some Oasis in this, maybe a supersonic-ish riff, and Wilson has kinda similar vocals to Liam? Nevertheless, I would only consider Oasis Rock N' Roll, man; not pop rock!
Hmm wouldn't call it emo. It's rock and sometimes metal... Steven wilson's thing is actually to write sad moody tunes, maybe that's where you get the emo thing from

Yep gavin is a freakin magician on drums ❤️
I sadly never got to see them live, did however see gavin live with the pineapple thief🤘
Welcome to the rabbit hole - great reaction! Check out their song 'Anesthetize' live in Tilburg. It's a journey!
I concur, do this live one next

Dude. Anesthetize live in Tilburg. 18 minutes. WORTH IT!!
I would be interested to hear why you picked this track for your maiden PT voyage. Not what I would have recommended.

The heavy riff was the best part....I thought it kind of sounded like the theme to Ink Master.....all the rest did not draw me in, unfortunately....
Porcupine tree, by far my favorite band. Was told that I sound a bit like them 😅🙈
Just one song...Aneasthetize live in Tilburg ! It's in 3 sections and I'm sure you'll be impressed !

Thank you Jofre I hope all is well with you!
Always heard of them. I wouldn’t turn it off if they popped up on my Pandora station.
Huge porcupine tree fan.
I really enjoyed lightbulb sun 🙂
9:44 -- I would say less Oasis and more along the lines of Deftones or Dredg or The Ocean Blue.
Try "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here."
Song's about Ted Bundy ☠️☠️☠️☠️💀💀💀
Check out Dir en grey -- "The Devil In Me" as it also has to do with Bundy.
Came here to see if I requested this song as well....Nope, not one of mine.

Gavin is my favorite drummer❤️ he's got so much feel and his parts feel like compositions themselves
Do live versions always amazing.. Anesthetize, cheating the polygraph or hatesong
👽🖖

Yeah steven wilson is not the greatest singer 😅he knows that and writes his melodies specifically for his voice
Trash... sure some poeple like it but not metal at all more emo I guess

Progressive rock! Haha emo?
Sounds like overrated cheese to me
Not too bright are you?
9 years old or less?
@@fooser77 sure but only if you say so.
This song is cheese it's just tool and opeth w oasis pop 😄
If this song was a cheese, it would be a French moldy kind of. Not everyone's cup of tea but delicious nevertheless
