it seems like sum(range1*range2) gives the same output as sumproduct(range1;range2), didn't know that!
copying the lambda function to another workbook takes care of the "NamedRange".
I'm already less intimidated. Thank you for so clearly explaining this.

Yes, I almost never use SUMPRODUCT anymore (almost because old habits die hard!). Although it’s good to remember if you need backward compatibility.
And I’m glad to hear it made it less intimidating!
