How the fuck do the actors lip-synch so well?! All the little fluffs and pauses and stuff are spot-on. I don't care if it's loads of practice or lots of takes, it's still bloody impressive.

Voice overs and dubbing are really hard. Imagine dubbing anime to English. Dubbing and voice overs require some serious skill!
It;s not too difficult these days with all of the wizardy that exists, software can alter the speed of the video to match the audio and vice versa.
I think they record the storyteller first then play the audio on set. They might even have the re-enactors listen to it before they shoot

+AxelSoul You can go into any store that sells tv's and 85% of digital flat screens have just about every input type, which is nice if you ever do need to use coaxial cable. I have many retro game systems, and if i'm not using my dinosaur tv, I sometimes plug it into the huge lcd. It gets stretched alot but it works. All you gotta do is set the input to (tv) or (ant/cable) and you get static or blue screen.
This guys has the best job. Not only does he get to meet these hilarious people, he gets to meet them when they are absolutely hammered.

It's just a simple piece of information, but it did help me out a lot in Astronomy class. Just imagining the universe going "KHHHHHHHHHH."
Here’s my theory: Obviously, the storytelling is taped before the actors play it out. There is no sound when it cuts to the acting out parts, and the storyteller’s voice continues. So, because when they’re shooting the acting bits the sounds ultimately won’t matter, they probably just play back the audio of the storyteller while they’re shooting. That makes it a lot easier for the actors to dub it so perfectly.
