My dad had one and my mother a M70a pistol. They bought them during 90s troubles since they owned a Pizza restaurant and the crime was very high at the time. Now when I think about it, thank God my mother didn't have to use her gun since I learned from her that the last time she fired one was in high school during civil security class. Anyways, both guns were given back to the police 2 years ago, much to my protests. Well, I now due to the situation in the world and the fact I live in the Balkans in Serbia I am planning on getting a sporting license and buying one M88 for myself. I opted for the M88 due to 2 reasons. 9X19 is common and the gun goes for about 100 e on the market. All the best!
@@BrowncoatNerd You guys in the US are very lucky when it comes to gun collecting. I myself would love to own some older firearms like the Lebel rifle (The French 8 shot from ww1) or a Ruby pistol. But most of the time its very hard to find any kind of those rare guns in the country for sale, importing them is very expensive and not to mention that ammo is a big problem. For example PPU make 8mm French rimmed that the Lebel uses however I never saw any store in Serbia sell it while it gets exported to France and the US.Hope you get what I am trying to get. When it comes to working firearms you guys are in the best position and I truly envy you.
Thank you so much! I don’t have any connection to Yugoslavia but I’ve always been interested in it especially during the 90s. And you guys came up with one of my favorite quotes, “sorry, we didn’t know it was invisible”. Single handedly ended the F-117 service life. Thank you so much for watching!
I bought one for 430 bucks, I chose the hand select option from Classic Firearms. I do not regret it. These are beautiful little handguns. The magazine are still hard to come by, but it is a pretty handgun, well worth adding to my Tokarev collection. 430 is the hand select, plus shipping and my transfer fee.
I've had one of these little gems for several years now. It's brand new, still in the original wrapper. Guess I bought it on a Lark, and just keeping it "Like New" for the future. I had it out and in my hand just now to see how it feels. Their an interesting gun. I'm getting the urge to take it to the Range and "Pop Off" a few rounds. I'll try to follow up with a short report after I've finally shot it!
How can you loose when it's a Browning 1903 clone. I bought a brand new commercial 88a, and it's a jumpy decently small reliable 9mm. I only wish it's capacity was more.
I just purchased an Zastava m88a and currently waiting for my background check but I've read on a few message boards that a suitable alternative mag is a ProMag P225 / P6 9mm 10-Round that only runs for around $20. I'll post an update in about ten day's.
I can confirm that they work without any modifications. I bought three mags in total two work perfectly the third follower sticks alot. Just a quick update for that sticky follower I got it to feed consistently after a bit of sanding.

@@BrowncoatNerd Also you have a great channel and I hope you get more views. Real great work. Also lovely Yugo memorabilia for the M88 background!

Nice video. I haven’t seen these for sale anywhere recently. Completely agree with you on the Star BM though.
Thank you!

I remember coming across a video of a guy doing some mild modification to those mags to make them work. Let us know if they work!

Yugoslavia, 1990.
كيف الحال ياخبير هل هذا المسدس من عيار 9 ملم
Good! Yes, it is 9mm (9x19).
How did you determine the year that it was made in?
It was under the slide release retainer clip on the right side of the frame.
@@BrowncoatNerd Good to know. Thank you!
