Well to my knowledge a monitor has less input lag. Depending on the quality of the monitor, it could have almost no input lag. And in case you're wondering, input lag is the time it takes for the command you entered through your controller to register on the TV screen. The higher the input lag, the longer it takes for the command you entered to register and vise versa. It can be a real pain when your playing FPS's like COD, Destiny, Battlefield, etc. So the less input lag, the better. Monitor's can have anywhere from 5 milliseconds to even 1 millisecond of input lag. TV's generally have a higher amount of input lag due to picture enhancement. A lot of TVs do have a gaming option though, where if you select it, it'll decrease input lag drastically. But a monitor will usually still have less input lag.
Now that I'm not sure of lol. If you know where you purchased your TV and if the store has it on their website, I would imagine you could look it up on there and find out its specs. The specs might tell you the amount of input lag.
When you play on a small screen it is easier to see everything. With your eyes not having to really move much. Her monitor witch is used at MLG tournaments has the best specs. It has 1ms response time witch is the best and this thing where you do not have like frame rate drops or something I do not know but it is very smooth compared to other monitors you just have to get the color right. If you are planning on getting one I recommend this one. Hmu if you need more help.
