Only Sturgill could send the chills through me that Prince does with that song. Got Damn Sturgill is just so fire, I'm so thankful I'm on the same timeline. When the world falls, there's Sturgill giving me my life line. I know he's one man we'll never see on any "list".
Man. I barely have words. Truly mind-blowing work Sturgill is putting out, both live and on record. We're watching a true legend in his prime. This is our Cash, Waylon, Willie, Kris.
@@thomasjames9427when I heard it I went fucking nuts trying to figure out what song it was I knew it was something lol. It's a ham on the intro section
Saw him in St Paul a week ago tonight at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. He was just amazing. The whole band of course is tight tight tight. But Sturgill was just soaring.
Good idea, @zigsrig and I wish I could. But the title is limited to 100 characters so unfortunately I have to include only the prominent details. But I will take your advice and add the information you have provided to the “more info” (details) field. Thank you 🙏 ☺️
Sean!!!!! Nice to hear from you 😊 Hope you are doing well. I’m not going to Forest Hills but I’m attending both Boston shows on Nov 23 and Nov 24. Hope you catch awesome video at Forest Hills. I’ll be at the Capitol Theatre in early November for Last Waltz … will you be there ??
First night only Sean - Thursday Nov 7 at the Capitol. Then I’ll see it again in Boston on November 12. It would be great to see you on the 7th. iMessage me if you think you can go 🤗
Just saw him in St. Louis the other night and if he was “phoning it in” here (which i disagree with) he definitely was not in St. Louis. Absolutely amazing concert, full 3 hours straight, no opener, no breaks, just Sturgill rockin the F out!

This was the best live concert I’ve been to
Hard to argue for me as well. Been to easily 200 rock shows. This was my favorite musical experience ever.

Agreed 😊❤️🎶
Same. Hard to think of one this good!
Most concerts i go to are live

Great songs, great band (welcome bak, Laur!), great singing and picking. What else do you need?
This show was so sick. Thoroughly impressed at how sharp Sturg and the whole band were. Almost dropped another 150 for night 2 lol
Bought night 2 tickets halfway through Tuesday's show. Couldn't stay away
First night was better 🎉😮
Go Johnny( blue skies) Go

Sweet Jesus!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Amy Karibian, you should update the title. At about 18:32 they break into Machine Gun by Jimi Hendrix for the final jam. KILLER!!!

it's just a lovely surprise then
Welcome to the purple jean pirate band, The Sturg, Ill.
Started with "One for the Road" from Passage.
Very FLOYDISH but I can dig that
There’s also band on the run in there
The guitarist asked to be turned down a little. Cameras were there to record it.
hahaha
Wow. What a great catch. Were you just in the crowd?
Yes 🙌🏽
Laur! Go little Joe!
Loved his stint with Drivin n Cryin but with Sturgill is where I enjoy his playing the most.
I just posted several videos from tonight's show, unfortunately he did not do purple rain
Great capture Amy. Are you coming to NY for forest hills?

Sturg giving me some Floydian vibes here! So kick ass
David Gilmore vibes
I thought the same thing or Frampton
Funny you mention that. I had that exact same thought during the purple rain finale.
@@randalldickson4603 I was just thinking maybe I was just odd for thinking that honestly
Yeah, that doesn’t suck…
I believe my buddy and I were right behind you at this show. It was the best musical experience of my life!
Incredible cover but it's no Medicated Pete.
Sounds kinda like a pink floyd song.
The Gilmore Force is strong on this one for sure!
The whole concert had a Floyd-ish vibe, it was fantastic
…oh and throw a little “Machine Gun” Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gypsys on the fire to wrap things up? Why does he hate us so?
Maybe “Matte Kuda Si” (Adrian Belew King Crimson) leading into Prince (“Purple Rain”) - is he mad at us for something?
Yes. Matte Kudasai is the reference at the open, on the way into Purple Rain. Not as violin-like as Belew, but still great.
The beginning was "One For the Road".
Yes the outro of “One for the Road” channels Matte Kudasai
Genres are a thing of the past
That’s machine gun in there too, right?
At times this intro channeled roy buchanan. Just brilliant tone
I was getting Cortez the Killer vibes during that intro
I cannot believe he was in Chi-town and I missed it.
Laur
Who is his guitar player? So tasty!
Laur Joamets
Yes, he is a guitar slinger. Very very talented.
This almost made me believe in Jesus.
That Hendrix "Machine Gun" interlude?! Bruh!...
@ 18:25
And "Power of Soul" at @19:15
What was this recorded on!? The sound is absolutely impeccable.!!!!
☺️ iPhone mikes are THE BEST
The sound was great at the venue
Should have heard it there!! Was blown away the entire performance!!
It was stellar even in the bathrooms!lol@@Humboldtcounty707
This is the literal opposite of K pop.
This is actually music
Ouch! Not even close to some of the other versions we've heard on this tour. Sort of sound like (don't hate me) he's phoning this one in.
Just saw him in St. Louis the other night and if he was “phoning it in” here (which i disagree with) he definitely was not in St. Louis. Absolutely amazing concert, full 3 hours straight, no opener, no breaks, just Sturgill rockin the F out!
Chicago is ...yeah....I'd phone it in too 😂
yikes I love Sturgill but every note he played was out of key. His lead player on the other hand sounded great
The beginning of the song wasn't " Purple Rain." Maybe that's why it sounded out of key. Your ear may have been searching for that melody.
Exactly. The beginning of this video is actually the outro of “One for the Road”
Gotcha. That's good clarification
@@Zanzibarbarian88 Honesty is attractive my man. good on you
@@AmyKaribiansomeone else referred to Matte Kudasai; sure sounds like that at the open, and then One for the Road. Yes?
Amazing
