  • Maura Murray went missing on February 9th 2004 at approximately 7:35pm after having a one car accident on a sharp curve on Rt.112 in Woodsville New Hampshire. This video was shot 7 years later on February 10th 2011. This is the last 3.56 miles of that drive. Somebody knows something, bring Maura home.

    I don't believe she walked down the road as well. I have 2 theories, either she did accept a ride, and that person did her harm, or the bus driver who claimed to have talked to her, and the other guy who claimed he saw her walking on the road is flat out lying.

    • @davidciao9808
      @davidciao9808 4 года назад +5

      Well, there is one thing that you definitely know for certain. The timeline and other ignored witness statements do not match what the police and other authorities have stated. Now either all of the other statements and evidence are incorrect or a few major players along with authorities are lying through their eye-teeth.

    • @davidciao9808
      @davidciao9808 4 года назад +4

      There are no less than three or four different witness statements that indicate an earlier timeline (among other things) than that alleged by the authorities. All the discrepancies have been written off as either explainable gaps or unreliable witnesses, etc. with no further information as to the length of the investigation into the statements and leads or why they were dismissed and they deemed reliable only the statements closest in time to their story. If any information contradicted the authorities' version, it was dismissed. That behavior speaks volumes in and of itself.

    • @davidciao9808

      Hi. The first recommendation is to view more videos and research some more. There are the alleged Westmans, Atwood, the Nurse (I think it was a nurse), Store clerk from down the road, Butson's liquor store witness (the alleged names are enough to crank ya) and others including family and friends, etc. Some are moderately corroborated and some are surmised to be highly probable as to veracity. What they have in common, though, is that they betray a possible different story and timeline than that espoused by the authorities.

      The bus driver was the second person to call the police. Seems much to audacious a thing to do, even for a seasoned serial killer/psychopath. Then again, I recall the case of Ian Huntley, child killer, who brazenly made it known to media and police that he was the last person to see them alive.

    Beautiful video and perfect choice for the song. Its very helpful for those of us who are not familiar or from that area and unable to check it out for ourselves. Like others, I've followed the case for quite sometime. I have read and watched everything pertaining to Maura's case. Its definitely hard to come to a conclusion as to what happened to her. I have gone back and forth with 2-3 possibilities. I strongly believe 2 things at this point: I think the answer lies in the immediate area of her accident, meaning one of those residents are responsible. I also believe the police know who it is but have been unable to prove it. This is why they refuse to hand over info to Fred/family and why they have not provided feedback on possible evidence, results etc. They can't do that in fear of jeopardizing whatever case they may have. Obviously it's lacking and after 11 years, I'm sure they are hoping somebody talks or God forbid Mauras body is found. Lastly I believe Maura will be found within 1-3 miles of where her accident occurred. In saying that, my heart goes out to the Murray family and I hope one day the answers are forthcoming.

    277 Wild Ammonoosuc Rd. for anybody interested. Took the road trip via Google maps and I must say absolutely beautiful country there. Can't help but wonder where she planned on sleeping that night. Almost looks like she was gonna loop back south possibly and just make it a long overnight road trip.

    This was the first case I ever watched on Disappeared and it has stuck with me more than any other case. It absolutely breaks my heart every time I watch it. I pray that she somehow is alive, whether she suffered memory loss, or (god forbid) is being held against her will, or SOMETHING that just results in her safe return. I watched the movie "Room" the other day and it made me think of Maura. I bet the dad has already done this since he struck me as a man that is doing everything he can for his little girl, but I would go to every single house around there within a mile or so radius and just question the crap out of them. SOMEBODY has to remember SOMETHING, even if they think in the back of their head it's not a big deal, but it could be what breaks the case

    3 The gas station was open that night until about 8pm. This would have been another obvious place to go for assistance. The person working that night never saw her. Every time I have been up there, there has never been more than about 30 minutes that a car hasn’t driven by. (On the 7 year anniversary of Maura’s accident) Feb 9th 2010 from 7:30pm to about 8:30pm we had approximately 10 vehicles drive by the area.

    i believe the bus driver and another resident called the police when they saw the accident----"why would he go to the police" he didnt go to the police, the police came to the accident scene and he was interviewed--its not unusual for a perp to help in an invesitgation---he was the last person to have seen her, or have any contact with her--he should be the #1 suspect...people just dont disappear like that

  • @Human1666
    @Human1666  11 лет назад +3

    1 There has been several searches at different times after Maura’s accident by individuals, groups and agencies. I believe that one of the officers and the bus diver drove around the area shortly after they realized Maura was not with her car. However response in the immediate days following her disappearance seems to have been poor, Fred was one of the first people to arrive expecting to join the search team to help locate Maura to find he was the search team.

  • @Human1666
    @Human1666  12 лет назад +2

    2 If you look at the area there are several homes within a very short distance from where Maura’s car was. Any of which she could have easily walked to for assistance. Also exactly one mile west of the accident site was a gas station that was open. If Maura had been driving from that direction it would have been dark and easily spotted.

    Math! If you are going 30mph you cover .5 miles every 1 minute. The video is about 7 minutes long. 7 minutes x .5 miles = 3.5 miles. The video is played back real time. the distance was measured using sat images and from the odometer in the vehicle.

    @JCMySoulsBoast When we made this video last winter we thought the same thing. There are so many places she could have gotten help from. Also while out there at the same time of night as her accident we had 10 to 15 cars pass us. We speculated that it would be very possible for someone to have offered a ride.

  • @Human1666

    I am not here to convince you what the temperatures were that night. I would just caution you in believing everything written about Maura’s story. (Including that you read somewhere it was 11 degrees) I found that most of the reporting on the conditions of that night has been wrong. Don’t rely on second hand information including mine. I base my decision on historical weather data from the area that is corroborated by local people that remember the weather on that night.

  • @Human1666
    @Human1666  11 лет назад +2

    2 I have also been told by local residents that many of them searched independently in the days and weeks following the accident. I know several days had pasted before police organized any official search. To date I don’t believe there is a good historical record of which group searched which area.

  • @sauroid1
    @sauroid1 13 лет назад +1

    Know the area well. There is still alot of yes, no, maybe so but no one seems to really know what happened. When people pass by on the road and see a disabled vehicle they stop and help, 99% of the time. Had a case here a while back where a man from Ma. disappeared on a desolate road on the outskirts of town, he eventually turned up in Ca. People behave sometimes in mysterious ways. Won't go into worst case scenarios here. DON'T LEAVE YOUR CAR IF YOU GO OFF OF THE ROAD IF POSSIBLE.

    Why has no1 here mentioned Mauras credit card fraud. She was on probation when she was missing. Her probation was nearly up but because of the 2 crashes maybe they would have affected it. She may also have been involved in a hit and run a few days before going missing. Her father says he does not know why she took this route...maybe she took this route because she was drinking and thought it would be better to stay off the main road. I dont think the bus driver did anything wrong.

    I would have to watch the episodes all over again to fully understand this case. (So many films/ documentaries/etc).
    However, my gut instinct is telling me something happened at that A Frame House.
    Many people defend the bus driver.
    I’m torn between him knowing more or having more involvement & him being innocent.
    I understand that he was a bus driver & should be trusted, but, one never fully knows a person inside.
    If it were me & I saw someone needing help - I would still stay around & keep watch over them from a distance- stranger or not, I would still do my best to make sure they were ok.
    Being a stranger, yes, I can understand them turning down help. Which is why, if it were me, I still would have stayed in my bus & made sure the person was safe & ok.

I-91 is very near to her college and getting on that then going north into upstate Vermont and getting off at exit 17 would have taken her directly to route 112 in Woodsville NH which then leads you directly to the White Mountain area in Lincoln. She had that destination in mind for sure.

  • @Human1666

    In addition to shooting this video in February of 2011 and because we also had a want to know what happen we considered some of these theories that many of you talk about in the other comments. We also thought Maura may have hiked down the road in an effort to get cell signal or to look for a house that seemed more inviting than going to the bus drivers home. We also suspected that she may have hidden in the woods in an effort to avoid the police that would have been responding because she may had been drinking. So while there we retraced her steps as if she had kept going to Bartlett (East on Rt112) We immediately found out a few things. There was more than enough ambient light (Even though the moon was not up) to find your way down the road. We suspected that she was not prepared for the cold weather based on the fact she took such few things when leaving the car. She didn’t take her gloves and from what we understand was not probably not heavily dressed. She also left most of her things in the car as if she was planning to return shortly. The night she went missing it was 36 degrees. The night we were there it was 15 degrees. It struck us as odd that she would go far at all, being there was so many homes around the area near her car. In fact I thought it was lucky given the area that 3 different homes reporting seeing her at the car after the accident. We also think she may have been wearing sneakers as I was on the night I was there. The first thing I thought of was why in the world would I want to leave this paved road and trudge through the snow in sneakers, it just didn’t make since. Also even though I feel its possible footprints could have been missed it seems that none where ever found. After being there I think the most likely thing that happened is she accepted a ride from somebody not far from her car.

      .....very nice video, that song is so appropriate, good choice! That turn is quite dangerous, I can easily see someone losing control and spin out of control.
      Regarding Maura, my take is that she was pregnant (she did do some research online about alcohol effect on a fetus) and was going to get an abortion. That decision/situation was probably related to why she freaked out at work 3 days before disappearing. Something went down, the sperm donor, who wouldn't have been the boy friend, may have threatened her or at least put a lot of pressure on her to get this abortion for fear of a scandal. Maura would have called her dad for help, he then scrambles big time to get the 4,000$, and then goes to umass to see her daughter. They meet on Saturday and he leaves on Sunday. Next day Maura leaves, just like it was planned. In my mind, her dad knows a whole lot more than he's saying.
      There was no looking for a car, she never mentions it to anyone, no record of it anywhere and her dad never mentions what he did with the money. Plus Maura didnt have a lot of money left in her account, if any, after withdrawing 260$ on the day of her disappearance and spending 40$ on booze before hitting the road. Common sense will tell you that you can't go very far and for very long on a couple of hundred bucks. After gas and maybe some lunch, she would have been almost broke come destination. This confirms she was getting help from someone. Remember the 4,000$ would have already been committed.
      Unfortunately, she gets into an accident, she grabs her back pack containing the money and hits the ground running in order to avoid the police for fear of DUI. She's a runner, top shape and in fact, somebody (Rick Forcier) spots a girl with a back pack running along that very same highway 5 miles from the scene of the accident. Her intention was not to run all the way to where she was going, all she wants to do in the short term, is to get as far away from the accident scene and as quickly as possible before the police gets there. The police came in from the west, she ran towards the east.
      She hitched a ride and she either met with fowl play right there and then or she made it to destination where things got complicated or it seems. She hadn't booked a room, she had just scoured the area online for condos etc...., therefore that means somebody else did that fir her and may have agreed to meet there, possibly the sperm donor. Maura wouldn't have left umass without some type of reservation if she was acting alone, it doesn't make sense, it's in the middle of winter and you need a place to stay before departing. Therefore, the places she looked up online should have checked. A list of guests at those establishments on that day and next, could have shed a lot of light on her disappearance. I don't know if this check was ever gone. Nobody just gets up and leaves for a week, with very little money like Maura did solely because she is upset; she's a bright girl, she left with a clear purpose and an important one at that and someone at the point of destination was waiting.
      The point of destination should have been focused on more in my view. It's likely that something may have happened there as much as something may have happened in and around the scene of the accident.
      Hope you enjoyed reading my take on this disappearance.

      .....very nice video, that song is so appropriate, good choice!
+fernand robichaud Hey. Thought I would reply to you on here cause its the vid you told me to watch. Yes, I do believe Maura may have been pregnant and this is the reason she left town. Thats what i had come to. At first I thought she was involved in a hit and run that happened near her campus, a man named petrit, but there is no evidence it was her etc. We know she left town for something, its figuring out what happened to her on the way. I do believe slightly that maura did meet with foul play but apart of me still believes she ran because she had been drinking and the recent string of bad luck and decisions caused a bit of a breakdown, then just went too far and succumbed to the elements. But where did she think she was going? She knew it was cold. Would you run in the snow, in February? Although maybe something happened that caused her to run. There are witnesses to this crash. The husband and wife who called the cops, said there was a girl in a car outside across the road. Also the woman said it looks as though there may be a man smoking a cigarette but it could be a cell phone light or something. Also Butch Atwood, the local bus driver who stopped and asked maura if she needed help. She told him no, she phoned someone but he lived a couple houses down and decided to call the cops anyway of course. Also another neighbour was witnessing this from their window. So we have all these people watching and reporting to cops and suddenly whoosh, shes gone. One minute they are saying shes in the car, couple mins later shes gone. People turned their backs for a second. Its all very bizarre and I highly suggest you watch the Missing Maura Murray podcast. Its long and lots of episodes and you definitely get sucked down a rabbit hole. You would love it. But I most definitely agree with your theories on why she left town. And it is obvious the family knows why she left town but I truly believe it has nothing to do with her actual disappearance. If her family thought it did, maybe we would all know but its none of our business really and maybe they wanted to keep some privacy and dignity in her life missing or not. With that being said I would absolutely love to know why she did leave town so abruptly, as thats what adds so much mystery to this. Oh yes and the $4000! She was on some sort of mission thats for sure! Anyway, hope you get this:)

    Maura had gotten into two accidents in basically 3 days. One on Saturday night/Sunday morning and the second on Monday (Feb. 9th 2004) when she disappeared. (In both of these accidents air bags deployed) I have heard about the theory that she was involved in a hit in run concerning another student at U-Mass. From what I have learned about this theory it seems totally unlikely that she could have had anything to do with it.

    being close to Mauras age at the time of her disappearance & having turned to alcohol to relieve stress, and regretted it I can totally relate to her. I think she was super stressed at school, had made some mistakes that she was feeling the pressure of, and just wanted to get away. She got her booze & headed out..didn't care or want to be bothered by others. She started drinking wine while driving, drank too much and wrecked. Instead of getting a DUI I think she started walking and got a ride...

The gloves scent led the dogs about 100 yards up the road and then abruptly ended.

    I find it disheartening that not a single said nosy neighbor bothered to step outside and ask this young accident victim if she was okay and/or would like to come inside and call AAA/paramedics/a family member, esp. considering the severity of the accident/condition of the vehicle/her confused state of mind/the twilight hour/cold weather, etc. Seems everyone just hid behind their curtains watching the show thru their reality tv windowpanes till the excitement wore off and Maura wasn't there anymore. I live in a hard hood, and even so, we step outside when an accident occurs nearby, call 911, and do what we can to assist, if possible. Backing it up, whatever motivations led her to that point in time, in or out of her right mind, I've a feeling this girl came to a bad end not of her own doing.

These backwoods are no place for normal well adjusted folks to live, less travel on these roads. • @龘纛爨灪麤彠
    @龘纛爨灪麤彠 7 месяцев назад +1

    Sorry but personally I dont believe in foul play. Could she took a ride? Sure, but foul play seems too big of a coincidence in this case. She is walking at night in the middle of nowhere in a place rarely with civilization, and at this hour there are a few cars passin by, and out of these little possibilities she got into the car of a murderer? Seems too big of a coincidence to me. If she DID accept a ride, foul play is unlikely, but then again, why shouldnt the driver come forward with that crucial information?
    I still believe in the "frozen to death in the woods"-theory. She was drunk, it wasnt the first time that she had an accident, in fact it was the second time. She not only feared the police, but also the serious discussions she would have with her father. In a state mixed with trepidation, anxiety and desparation, she ran away, and froze to death somewhere in the forest nearby. The fact that no remains or clothes could be found doesnt mean that she died in the forest.

    Maura is speaking to us through her actions but we're too busy projecting our own theories to listen. She has an emotional breakdown at work on February 5th. She packs up her belongings in boxes and leaves them stacked on her dorm bed. Her boyfriend has recently admitted he's cheated on her, and she leaves a printout of his emailed confession on top of the boxes. On the night she disappears Maura is drinking and driving, repeating the same behavior that caused her to crash her father's new car just a day before. She has already been told by a judge to stay out of trouble for six months or face prosecution for credit card theft. Therefore Maura's drinking and driving on the night of February 9, 2004 tells us:
    A) She's just trying to clear her head.
    B) She's obviously making a fresh start.
    C) She's in a self-destructive frame of mind.

I find it incredible that there were so many properties close by, that she never managed to get to. Also why didn't the driver offer to give her a ride instead of just offering to make a call? if she refused a ride with the bus driver (someone you would potentially think was safe) it makes me question why she would accept a ride from a complete stranger in a car?

    I want to believe she's alive and well, somewhere in Canada, leading a new life. I want to believe that. But I'm finding it so hard to believe this wonderful, sweet girl would have let her family suffer like this. I never met Maura, but all who knew her paint a picture of a caring, compassionate person. If she were elsewhere, I still believe she would have contacted her family and ended their sufferings. Unless she is being prevented from it, in which case leaving this road was not her choice.

    Why do you keep harping on the fact that it was 11 degrees and keep saying that it could not possibly have been warmer at night in NH. The reported temp at Whitefield, NH (closest WX station and further NORTH) was 36F on the nose at 6:50 pm. It had been cold, well below 0F, the morning of 9 Feb and warmed up significantly through the day as a high built in from the west. Weather data does not lie and is readily available. I'm a meteorologist and if you want more detail, reply to this comment.
