Honestly, I do think that light pink works best with Aqua, and purple works better with Shion than Okayu. Like, when I see or think of Shion, even when she’s not wearing purple, I think “the [OG] purple kusogaki”. (La+ is “the purple kusogaki with horns”.) With Aqua, I think “the shy pink gamer maid”. So, with them, I always think of their colors. But for Okayu, I just think “the mischievous, easygoing catgirl” or “the part of OkaKoro who loves to tease”. I don’t really think of her color first. Which seems odd now that I think about it. Like, Okayu’s hair and the fur on her cat ears and tail are all a shade of purple, so regardless of her outfit, she always features purple. But with Shion, her hair is white, so I don’t know why, even before La+ cemented the idea that “purple Hololive member = kusogaki and/or secretly-kind-despite-trying-to-hide-it” in my mind, I have always associated Shion with purple so much more strongly than I do for Okayu. I’m not sure why that is…
