    • @AHFAN11
      @AHFAN11 Год назад +4

      abuse of an official, in this case, arguing and chasing the referee, is enough to get a misconduct, it's in the rules and is NEVER tolerated. this isn't an officiating problem, and crosby should have been more then aware that what he was trying to pull with the referee would get him in trouble. even coaches can receive penalties for abuse of official, and have been ejected from a game, that's how serious the nhl is for non tolerance of abuse of officials. this referee was well within their right to give a misconduct to crosby for chasing after the referee, even despite the referee skating away, he still went after the referee.

    • @davidfierro5686

      Maybe they were already frustrated with the dive he took. Syd made it look like he was shot by a cannon the way he flopped, then refused to leave the ice and continued to pursue the ref. He’s gotten superstar treatment for too long and he continues to abuse it. This was just an example of his entitled nature. First the extreme flop, then he’s taunting the Kings player, then berating the official when warned to skate away.

      Nah, this didn't warrant that. It was a cross-check at a bad time, but the penalty itself was not that bad. Go out and spoil the shutout on the PP if you want some measure of vengeance, making Anderson at least regret costing his goalie that much. This fits a longstanding pattern of Crosby, Malkin (penalty just before this incident), and Letang venting frustrations immaturely. It has waned for the most part in the second half of their careers, but it's still there.

And once again, their only go to is to over react at some point. No fans are paying to see the officials and yet they continue to want to be part of the show. A bunch of egomaniacs who bruise easily.

    LA's announcers are nauseatingly biased. They're far from the only RSN commentators that are, but they're among my least favorites (though, ironically, Bob Errey on Pittsburgh's broadcast is pretty high on that list, too).
    Normally I would agree it's "just a shove" when there's no wind up / extension leading up to the contact, but Mikey Anderson went high and forceful. Valid penalty call. Crosby did sell it, though.
    And yeah, Crosby deserved the misconduct, too. I'm not sure why it took so long to get Anderson into the penalty box that Crosby could skate after the ref enough to the point that he tells Sid to piss off, and then Crosby skates over to the box and gets into it with Anderson. Seems like that whole situation could have been avoided if they would have gotten Anderson into the penalty box in a timely manner to continue the game. The announcer's quip about "taking control of the game" seems like it should've happened a lot earlier on.

    • @bradmorris5797
      @bradmorris5797 Год назад

      If I'm the ref, I'm going to give Crosby a couple of minutes to cool down before I throw him out of the game. I didn't like that hit for a couple reasons. It was high, and it was timed, seemingly, to get Crosby into the most amount of injury risk with both an oncoming shot AND another skater who had to jump over him to avoid him.
      Crosby probably felt like he was pushed in front of a car, and had some things to say to Anderson about it - I don't blame him.
      Anyway, I thought that hit smelled like carelessness, if not cowardice. Crosby was right to tell Mikey to get lost and the ref should have gotten Anderson into the box to let Crosby cool off.

Meanwhile the kid-sitter didn’t see all of it and decided everyone’s in trouble and dishes out time-outs when the fallen complains that “he started it.”
    The hit might not have been the worst if it was by itself in the open; the timing and situation absolutely made it worse. Dismissing that is biased nonsense. He pushed him into a flying puck and his own teammate, causing Crosby to fall and the other player to trip and land most of his weight on Sid’s back while he was twisted with his head and shoulder down. At best that’ll knock the wind out of you and cause some pain and muscle trouble, but that could harm a disk, pull muscles, or other injuries. It looks like they didn’t care to pay attention, just dismissed it. I’ve had collisions with others like that, it knocks the wind out of ya and hurts like heck.
    Not to forget there’s the potential injury to the guy’s own teammate by doing junk like that.

      Did you see the way he bumped in to Anderson there! Friggin insane, that's a misconduct if I've ever seen one. The force on that was crazy, at least 2 mph.

      This is true and opponents should not frankly play dirty with such players. That was crazy refereeing, and freaky opponents as well.

      abuse of an official is never tolerated. and yes, skating after the referee to argue, despite the referee skating in the opposite direction with crosby still chasing, counts. that was when he got the game misconduct, and crosby should have been more then aware of the consequences of his actions.

      @@vincentaldazabal4488 if he hadn't gotten a 10 minute misonduct initially before chasing the referee, he probably would have only been given a 2 or 10 min misconduct since abuse of an official can be a 2 minute, 10 minute or a game misconduct. crosby already had been given a 10 minute, so there was really only 1 choice left.

    The worst part of this entire thing are the LA announcers. And I'm a Kings fan. I hate watching the local broadcasts.
