Well that's the most beautiful thing I've seen all day. Knew you'd capture her eventually. That slurping is so adorable. Thanks Murray 😊

I just home from work & went around & filled all the bird baths up, was done before work too. I get such joy watching the birds & animals use them. She was so thirsty. Beautiful.

I 100% agree! So sweet when the locals show up to have a drink or...20? I actually didn't count 😁

So many times during that video I thought "she must be done now!" Love these little guys. And my procrastination in failing to get these guys their own container (on the ground) has paid off if they're going to be using the birdbath! I got lucky, and cheers Ron 👍😁👍

She is adorably cute! Those long eyelashes! And she's very, very thirsty.
How great she's finally brave enough to drink from the bird-bath - I hope she and junior become regulars - and I love the way her paws curl around the perch.
You must be so pleased about this one Murray - just delightful. 😁❤

I'm stoked - and she posed so well! If she would just drink at the back next time at the end instead of the front it would have been perfect.
They really are tiny little creatures.
      Cheers Sue 👍😁👍

@@mybackyard36 Yes her pretty face was just outside of the frame when she looked away, but maybe next time she'll be a bit braver - this was her first go,
I know folks overseas love to see our wildlife, we sure have unusual critters in Australia, we're so lucky.😁🦘

I leave a little bowl next to the fence as the possums end up knocking over the bird bowl of an evening if I don't.

The little sods. I don't have possums here and I'm glad given the damage they'd probably do to the veg patch. Good plan JJ 👍😁👍

I suspect it was her who drank on the phone footage I uploaded a week or two ago but I couldn't see her tail properly - she has a couple of big scars near the base/top of her tail. So she might have drunk here before. That birdbath has been there for 22 months and the wallabies are only just discovering it - it continues to deliver surprises!
      Cheers Larri 👍😁👍

@ loved the looks she gave the camera a couple of times. Like “ I know you’re there, I know something is going on, but damn I want some water and it seems safe”.
Can’t believe I missed her first drink🙄. Now that their pioneer-explorer-roo has done it a couple of times I guess EVERYroo will soon be drinking from the birdbath 😁😁😁

    • @mybackyard36
      @mybackyard36  9 дней назад +1

@@larrykelly-kf5pp I hope so! But these wallabies don't mix with the roos all that often. And our roos are about twice their size so imagine how much THEY would drink!
I loved those looks at the camera. These guys are cautious being so small. She was probably just checking for threats, but it was near-perfect.
I hope she tells her friends and the roos pick it up too. There are a lot of Pretty-faced wallabies and so far I suspect she's the only one who has had a drink.

Fantastic! At last a full drinking session caught on camera. She certainly was thirsty and made an impressionable dent on the capacity.
Joey is most likely still drinking from mum's pouch until the next bub comes along.
Murray, it's not uncommon for kangaroos and wallabys to take on a load of water as they can go a good week without a drink.
In the Australian outback, the cattle station's bore/artisan water stations set up for cattle and sheep can attract all manner of animals to drink from.
Mobs of kangaroos can spend up to an hour taking on water like camels do. So it might be a while before she returns for another load.
You'll have to erect a sign, 'No Leaning Over The Bar To Self Serve'
Actually I didn't mind a Fosters every now and then, but preferred a Crownie first choice before I went gluten free. Ahhh those were the days.
    Another accolade for the channel.
    Have a good one mate.
    Cheers 👍😀🇦🇺

I was thinking the same about the Joey. I estimated the joey as being about 18 inches tall in a short the other day - I think that was pretty accurate comparing it to the height of the birdbath. And I know it was the same joey because I can recognise his mum.
I never knew about water loading. I showed this to some relatives and they said it was like watching a camel fill up - and it really is the same kind of thing! That's good to know, thanks for the information.
      And “Staff only behind bar”.
Did you notice how the grandstand moved when she leaned on it?
The only time I've ever had a Fosters was when I was tripping around the USA and some people brought a slab to a party. It made no impression on me either way but I seem to remember preferring it slightly to their local brews. The best beer I found over there was a XXXX brewed to the Australian recipe in Oregon. I guess it was familiar...
      Cheers John👍😁👍

@mybackyard36 Take a water measurement before dusk and check it again in the morning. This'll tell if there's been any overnight activity.
