Love that you guys are doing this! You are pulling off a pretty close sound but it's the long way around it. Pete is my favorite bass player so it rubs me wrong lol. You would not need a second guitar if the bass player played like Pete. Chorus up, distortion up and play power chords and octaves! I'm only seeing single note lines. Pete basically played rhythm guitar and bass at the same time. It isn't easy but it's Type O!
We hear ya, trust us. We like the 2nd guitar because there are so many layers it's impossible to play it like the CD without it. Sometimes bass plays power chords, and we all have chorus and distortion up. Live at a club it all comes through, feedback and all. :-)
Type O had such a monstrous sound the additional guitarist is needed to replicate the studio albums. It's quite evident you guys have spent a lot of time capturing that sound. Well done.

Love that you guys are doing this! You are pulling off a pretty close sound but it's the long way around it. Pete is my favorite bass player so it rubs me wrong lol. You would not need a second guitar if the bass player played like Pete. Chorus up, distortion up and play power chords and octaves! I'm only seeing single note lines. Pete basically played rhythm guitar and bass at the same time. It isn't easy but it's Type O!
We hear ya, trust us. We like the 2nd guitar because there are so many layers it's impossible to play it like the CD without it. Sometimes bass plays power chords, and we all have chorus and distortion up. Live at a club it all comes through, feedback and all. :-)
