    I review the new Siglent SDS1104X-E, a 4 channel scope which has optional AWG, WIFI, and 16 channel MSO functionality.
    This new scope has a bode plot feature, which can be used across 3 channels to detect the amplitude and phase relationships compared to the reference signal from the 25MHz AWG (the SAG1021).
    I press lots of buttons to check out the included the features.

    I've just ordered the same identical scope online, that's why I'm watching your video, getting to know it.
    Ooops 50.0001MHz
    I suppose the one is not 1 Hz, but 100Hz.
    1 Hz would be 50.000001 MHz, but I suppose the scope will not show 1Hz precision on 50MHz signal.
    Thanks for the review.

    300 and 400 MHz, most probably you need to get adequate probes.
    Maybe the probes capacitance values are distorting the waveform.

    I have SDS1104X-U. I am uncertain if the peak to peak measurements (have a siglent signal gen also) as when I put in say 500Hz 400mV pk-pk signal it reads pretty far off. I have probe set to 1x, and the weird part, the division scale graticule I can read and calculate V/division and it seems to be more to trust, but it doesn’t agree with the measurement output. Also, is there a way (without hooking up a pc) to have two or three channels at the same time display say voltage pk-pk so I can check gain easily? I suspect not. Seems like I have to choose one, then do the same on the other but never both at the same time. Any help appreciated. Is the problem with impedances on the reading of values?

    • @TheDefpom
      @TheDefpom  6 месяцев назад +1

      It will be based on a 50 Ohm system, so to get the correct reading you need to allow for that, so if it’s 400mV p-p at 50 Ohms the scope input also needs to be set to 50 Ohms, I don’t think that scope has a selectable input impedance, so the way to do that is to use a through terminator (if you are using a bnc cable to connect, rather than a probe) Also if you use x1 on the probe you limit the probe and scope bandwidth considerably, usually to around 6MHz or so, and can load down the circuit under test, avoid using 1x if you can.

    • @shader26
      @shader26 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheDefpom wow! Thanks for the quick response. I’m seeing in the manual (not sure it covers my model) possibility to set the output impedance of the signal generator. The signals are so small, and I’m always confused on this, X 1 setting on probe is self explanatory, but the 10x setting…magnifies or is it that it takes 10 X the signal to show same vertical as the 1x
      ? Thanks so much for the reply!

    • @TheDefpom
      @TheDefpom  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@shader26 x10 means it divides by 10 so you have to multiply by 10, or set the scope input to be 10:1

    • @shader26
      @shader26 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheDefpom thanks. Again. It’s very basic, but it always threw me with the X… so when I also set the scope to be configured that I am using a x10 probe, I will just have to change V/div much lower as it’s a small signal.

    • @TheDefpom

    Sorry to say, but this is one bad review video. Not prepared the script/agenda... most of the time trying to find pieces around or talking about pretty obvious stuff, e.g. how to connect USB etc.. or how your home wifi is configured?! ... or not sure how a this and that feature works... what is the review then about?! The valuable content could probably be summarised in 10-15 mins.. Don't mean to offend, more like positive critic... Simply get organised better when shooting a video, provide useful content only, or do better editing, cut out unnecessary stuff... Just a humble opinion.
