I just picked up a 335d and started giving me issues right after I got it from the dealer. Loses power and check engine lights, it’s nice to see someone working on the M57 so we can be able to work on ours. Good job just subbed
Thank you so much for this video. I noticed the fresh blood on your hands. I just finished changing my vacuum parts and I have the identical cuts as you did 4 years ago. I have to say this is not a user friendly design. If you aren't deleted you have have 3 wiring harnesses clipped on and two pressure sensors attached to the box. Plus the two solenoids attached to the box. Was enough trouble to get in here I just replaced both valves everything including my marginal turbo actuator that would leak out the vacuum on test slowly over 3 minutes.
Thank you for this vid and the recently purchase vacuum parts from your website. 👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I changed my 2013 X5 35d (146,000 Mi) vacuum lines today, cleaned some of the CBU out of the intake manifold, cleaned my EGR, and put it back together nice and carefully. I don’t see much CBU in the motor intake ports, a little crust at the rim, down deep I see bare aluminum with a diesel glaze. I bought a little 5mm fiber optic scope camera that connects via WiFi’s to my iPhone, I’ll check the valves next time I’m in there. 🤸♂️ saved $1,200 from the dealer today 🤸♀️
I'm just here waiting for step 10... XD JK man you rock thank you for all of these videos. You're the reason I have the confidence to not only keep and wrench on my first M57, but to actually buy a second one lmao
This for the most part is right (distribution block) but other wise it is for a deleted car learned that quickly while working but otherwise very informative!
Thanks! Working on pulling the intake for carbon buildup right now before continuing to do the full alphabet soup. Your videos have been super helpful!
@@andrewtravers7964 120k miles and unknown whether it was ever done - I've had codes related to EGR but not sure if that's specifically related to carbon build up. After taking off the intake I have about 5x as much build up as the worst cylinder shown in this video...
Great video. For those of us tackling the M57 (and for that matter BMW) for the first time, would you consider doing a video on how to remove all the electrical connectors around the vacuum assembly? You sure make it look easy: 5 bolts and it's out. Your tip on the pressure convertor electrical connections in this video was very helpful, but there are a lot of other difficult (again, first time) electrical connectors to remove. I'm replacing the vacuum control valve, behind and underneath this assembly. I've spent way too much time troubleshooting how to get connectors seperated and out of the way.
Super frustrating I know. A good pick set has helped me but I hate to see them all scratched up if I'm exploring if you know what I mean. The next tech that gets in there will see that and know its been hacked at. I don't want that on this ride. My third M57
Thanks Andrew. Im assuming that the intake manifold doesnt have to be removed for this job right? What's the going rate to have this work done at your shop?
finally got into my trunk... I found between the rear seat armrest is a plastic trim piece, I about gave up then it popped off from the top. I Hole sawed thru plastic with carpet glued to the back and pulled the release. I kept the circle and have it velcroed if it ever happens again haha doesnt look horrible easy solution
The metal nipple coming off the actuator has broken off twice when I have tried to remove 100% of the original vacuum line. Leaving it prevents all chances of breaking the nipple off
The T connection used should ahve had the shortest pipe going to the middle then it Sid’s flat and avoids unnecessary strain and don’t reuse old hoses. Aside from that it was excellent. Cheers
Thanx for the awesome video, to the replace this Vacuum Solenoid on the M57 E70 X5, do I have to remove the Intake manifold? COuld this be the lack of boost in the car as I replaced the pressure converter and the MAP Sensor no luck, All hoses seem ok! Thanx in advance
Great video , thanks a lot! Could you please send an accurate vacuum diagram based on which I could reconnect the complete vacuum system for E70 3.0 sd? I would be very very grateful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great video as always!!! So very helpful. I have a question though. I have 2011 335d. 220k. About to follow your vac lines and actuator change. I also get dpf codes 452a and 4d4a. Do I need to replace DPF, clean it or just have the codes erased? Thanks in advance. P.
Could you post a link to the silicone hose you used for this job? The tunemyeuro link doesn’t work anymore and I’m having trouble finding it on the cascade german site. I’d like to use all black and enough to do the entire job in one length
Do the "Y" connectors get re-used? The OEM ones? I ordered the vacuum lines from you with the splicers but noticed there were no Y connectors in the plastic baggy. Thank you and great video!
Hey I am currently doing this, but there is a pressure converter under the intake manifold that is bolted to the glow plug controller. One line of it takes input from the main vacuum line but the other line goes over the valve cover and down the side in front of the turbos but i cant see what its connected to exactly. Some models show this as a egr changeover valve but im not sure on mine its for that. 2011 e70 X35d. It looks like the input for this is capped off in your video maybe
One Question, when doing valve cover gasket , do I need to just cut and splice vacuum lines to this ? Or will it just be moved over with lines connected?
My 35d feels sluggish low rpm, but I can see the actuator move when the engine has started and when it's turned off. I've replaced most of vac lines. Is it possible that one of the pressure convertors are bad despite the actuator moving?
Does anyone have any tips for getting the reservoir off of the car with the engine still in the car? lol it seems impossible as it's so far back in the engine bay even after taking the rain tray off. There are like 3 electrical connectors that are almost impossible to access.
Hello, The red line, what kind of device in front do you connect the red hose to. On my car hose from TCV goes to the waste gate which control the actuator. Correct? My car BMW F11 525D xdrive, do you know if my vacuum hoses are the same hoses on your car
Is there somewhere we can look at sensor connections near the vacuum lines? I think with EGR delete not all sensors/connectors are needed to be connected, I am going to assume that's the case, but if anyone sees this that knows for sure or has diagrams please reply!
How do you get the little two wire connectors loose? I pulled the white tab out as far as I can and tried the pick underneath. Everything is so tight on the e70.
The only thing i would not do it is joining any old pieces with new hoses , major Shortcuts taken . I spent extra 60 min to get to Waste gate of large turbo just to fit brand New hose .
Step 1 plugging the vacuum controller, is it the same device called turbo control valve? The device which control the actuator? Step 2 connect the red hose to the side connector on actuator. On my BMW the red hose connects to the waste gate. Step 3 The bottom connects to vacuum pump. You have two solenoids, I have a BMW F11 525D Twin turbo, do I have two Solenoids. If I have two solenoids, i have to check both Solenoids. Maybe It has faults because since The workshop replaced the turbocharger I have got error 29A400 in 6 months. You jump over step 10. Step 11 You Connect supply solenoid to connections on the right side. The red hose goes to, what do you call the silver device in front? On my car the red hose goes to waste gate from the TCV. The bottom of TCV goes to vacuum T-connector. Correct? I have to do all the vacuum hoses by myself. I appreciate very much if you can help me on the way. Thank you in advance for the best video on vacuum hoses. :-))
Hello my 535D 272, when going over 3300 rpm, car is asking for 1.8 boost and is receiving 1.5, I have changed pressure converters and I have checked Actuators if they leak vacuum, everything looks good but the issue remains, can somebody help please?
Hello guys! if someone can help me to find the locaction fo the pressure converter in a 2012 bmw X5 35D i would really appreciated. ive been trying to find info about it but not luck so far.
I wish I had watched this video before I did mine. I found the hidden bolt because the assembly wouldn't come off. Get a small mirror to check things in hard to see places. I have a wrecked 335d and use it as parts and practice.

I wish this was up sooner. I just broke a nipple off the reservoir by pulling. Keep up the sweet diy videos. 👍🏻
same haha , 45pounds from bmw
Same here, did you get a new one or just bypass it?

Bro you’re a blessing this has really helped me! Keep the content coming
You the real mvp Andrew
Thanks man
Hi, have you got a video of the egr pressure valve? Mines failed ans I need to replace it! Thanks
why did you leave the last part of the original hose connected to the metal changeover actuator?
The metal nipple coming off the actuator has broken off twice when I have tried to remove 100% of the original vacuum line. Leaving it prevents all chances of breaking the nipple off
Good, someone asked this, I was about to. Thanks!
The T connection used should ahve had the shortest pipe going to the middle then it Sid’s flat and avoids unnecessary strain and don’t reuse old hoses. Aside from that it was excellent.

Great video. I have a BMW F11 525D Xdrive 2012. Is the vacuum hoses the same on my car. I too need to replace my vacuum hoses.

Awesome job man. Thanks a lot for this video.
So are we just leaving that bottom back bolt out? Because there’s no way to put it in with that plug hooked up on step 1…
Wow was thinking about doing this. Heard a lot ppl with bad vacuum lines on these.
Great video , thanks a lot! Could you please send an accurate vacuum diagram based on which I could reconnect the complete vacuum system for E70 3.0 sd? I would be very very grateful 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thanks for this video, my lines need to be changed at 110k.
Yeah, very easily done with the motor out. How do you do it with a motor in
I'm assuming this is the same for the X5 M57? Seems some of the routing is different than OEM routing and connection?
Thank you for making this video
Definitely following y'all.
Extremely helpful. Thank you.
There’s like 6 or 7 other sensors that need to be disconnected first before you start cutting the vacuum lines. It’s not simple to get out.
Is the group of actuators similarly placed on a 2013 X35d e70? I have the 4530 code and would love to keep from going to the dealer
Could you post a link to the silicone hose you used for this job? The tunemyeuro link doesn’t work anymore and I’m having trouble finding it on the cascade german site. I’d like to use all black and enough to do the entire job in one length
This video saving my... kindly saying "time". Where you are located guys?
What is the point of the splice connectors?
I just did mine yesterday one line at a time. Extremely tedious

How mm is the vacuum hoose?

I want to buy 3,5mm black and red silicon vacuum hoses from you. When do you get in stock?
How much vaccum is needed at idle?
How do I reconnect the left side electrical ports
Is this the same for x6 e71 35d?
Is there somewhere we can look at sensor connections near the vacuum lines? I think with EGR delete not all sensors/connectors are needed to be connected, I am going to assume that's the case, but if anyone sees this that knows for sure or has diagrams please reply!
How do you get the little two wire connectors loose? I pulled the white tab out as far as I can and tried the pick underneath. Everything is so tight on the e70.
How did you determine which line goes where?
How did anyone get the bottom bolt out on the cab side
you rock doing this soon

Thank you Aaron!!! can you tell me where does the vacuum line from the low pressure EGR valve go on a 2011 BMW x5 E70 35D?
Under the intake manifold

Is this the same process for the X5 35D?
I need this job for n57 engine please
Hi guys, I was doing my x5 e70 and forgot what which pipe goes where! Any help is appreciated
I need help I have the same car . Can I take my truck to you shop ? How much is the cost for tha job
Which m57 engine model was this
Wow that was really helpful! Thank you!
Why does nobody mention the 2 DPF pressure hoses on the back of the unit? kind of an important detail.
Yes what do with those when it’s deleted
hi :) the internal diameter of those silicon hose are 3mm right ?
3.5
@@robbisson6506 i put 3mm. Because dont found here 3.5... hope will be fine in long terme
great video!!!
Hello guys! if someone can help me to find the locaction fo the pressure converter in a 2012 bmw X5 35D i would really appreciated. ive been trying to find info about it but not luck so far.
Do these go on without any clamps?
No need for clamps on vacuum lines - the vacuum pulls the pipes onto the nipple naturally.
How did you find that last bolt when in the car?
I wish I had watched this video before I did mine. I found the hidden bolt because the assembly wouldn't come off. Get a small mirror to check things in hard to see places. I have a wrecked 335d and use it as parts and practice.
Dobre
What's the size for the vac lines
3.5mm
3.5mm i.d ?
Is 3mm id ok? Cant find any 3.5mm id hose
Wanna go with Ramair brand pipes. 3mm or 4mm? No silicone pipes 3.5mm...
Aweswome

I started doing this without watching any videos and highly regret it I broke off 2 nipples on the actuator now I have to wait to take it to a shop on Monday so they can order the part and finish the job for me lmao
BMW needs to make better quality parts. I'd sold my bimmer.
