Awesome drive mate. Car looks like heaps of fun. I'd be interested to know what your stick/shifter Setup is like? Did you modified it in any way that the throws are getting shorter or is it just a different knob and that's it?
Hey brother so the clutch/shifter mods are as follows. South Bend Stage 2 Daily Clutch Homemade clutch stop to reduce dead travel Clutch assist spring removed Clutch delay valve removed (MOST IMPORTANT) Dieselgeek Sigma 6 Short Shifter Raceseng Circuit Sphere 100 knob Next I plan to do a dieselgeek super pin to remove some of the side to side play and shifter bracket bushings, but this is so much better than stock it’s unreal.
@@Ben-bg2eg Yeah no doubt about that mate. Was watching your other video called "rowing gears" and i was thoroughly impressed with your shiftspeed. What would you say is the most important bit to achieve such shift speed with a manual on your setup because there's just no way you'd be able to shift like that on a bone stock MK7, i think.
@@NoName-st6zc Removing the clutch delay valve for sure will make the biggest difference in your shift speed. Also I have flat foot shift through cobb so I can keep the gas floored and it will cut spark while holding boost.
It’s a South Bend Stage 2 Daily. 45,000 miles on it. I want to do a wavetrac LSD so I’ll probably resurface the flywheel and just replace the pressure plate and disk with a stage 3 daily and do TOB and rear main seal while I’m there. Great clutch though, it’s stood up to the abuse.
im about to buy a mk7 GTI myself just cannot decide between manual or DSG? can anyone suggest the best option? pros and cons of each? this vid for sure makes me want a manual more!!
Pros: It’s manual Cons: Everything else Not the best manual without doing a decent amount of mods, I’m personally not a fan of DSG though so I still would pick the manual again.
How many miles do you have on your car? I have a mk7 GTi at 54k and I’ve been on stage 2 since about 51k, bought the car at 48k completely stock. I’m on the stock clutch so I’m also thinking of getting a SB stage 2 daily clutch.
123k on the chassis, 60k on the engine lol. My SB has been on for 55k miles for what it’s worth, however if you plan to go past stage 2 power I would spring for the stage 3 clutch
Tuned by EQT on Ethanol blend, a couple bolt ons, Bilstein coils, 034 camber mounts, rsb and spherical endlinks, got the car corner balanced. Continental extremecontact sport tires on 18x8.5 konig wheels. Oh and 6 piston bbk. Probably move back to 200 treadwear next set.
