honestly the thought dump journaling without a particular structure is my favorite because I get to release all the anxiety built up from the day, week, etc. It definitely is rly cathartic to put all my worries down on paper and out of my head. Sometimes I write prompts (my feelinfs about my career, my relationships, health, my love life, etc.).

sometimes you just gotta word vomit all over your journal to feel better. othertimes I like doing future self journaling which the queen Jenn Im recommended. The prompts I follow go like: daily affirmation, what am I grateful for, habits that I want to work on, etc. there are more that she outlines but I find that hitting those three prompts as often as possible really help me feel better day by day :)

For journaling one thing I do is a monthly recap so every last day of the month I write what happened how I felt and what I’m looking forward to or looking to change etc - it’s literally been *key* contributor to growth and perspective and like lowkey helping me get out of toxic situations because the patterns are *on paper*. :D
Word vomit journaling is super effective!! I have several different journaling styles depending on what I need (some I use daily like morning/evening) and some only when I feel like it.
Morning:
- 3 affirmations (I am...)
- 3 things I'm grateful for
- set an intention for the day
- top 3 things on my to-do list (with a checkbox so I can check it off in the evening when I return to my journal)
- ask myself "what are the opportunities for growth today"
I do that every morning, and then usually when I get to my desk for the day I just bullet point "morning thoughts" as a form of word vomit before I time block my day and set up my to do list.
Evening:
- What am I grateful for today?
- What is 1 thing I learned today?
- What is 1 thing I practiced today?
- What is 1 challenge I tackled today?
- What is 1 thing I can do tomorrow that will make it better than today?
- maybe a blurb about my day if I'm feeling it
(not as consistent with evenings as I am with mornings but it really only takes 5-10 minutes and I find it super helpful as a form of reflection)
There's no real "right" way to journal - just what works the best for you!!

Word vomiting as your journaling structure is way more than great, so if it works, appreciate it working. As someone who is obsessed with structure and planning and having everything organized, just having a complete brain dump into a journal with no structure feels SO good for me personally. However, I do also have a small journal with 10 questions that you answer daily at the end of your day which help you to reflect on how you felt, how you behaved and how you can improve. I find that great for seeing recurring thoughts and emotions and finding those things that I'm stuck on in life or mentally. Okay, essay complete! 🙃 great video!

Yesss, I feel so related to what you said about how much the "friend-making process" has changed due to covid! I'm a freshman in university and I've spent my whole first year at home doing online school. I went from someone who would never be able to hold a conversation online to making all of my uni friends online. I have never been on campus (planning next Fall, things are quite positive now), and I'm so excited to meet my friends in person for the first time! I have made friends in the most random ways possible. Our class of 2024 has a collaborative playlist on Spotify, I was so impressed by the songs a girl put in, so I searched for her on Instagram, dm her to ask was that her Spotify account, and then we talked and became friends. This is such a weird time to be in a new school and make new friends!
