Before this I knew zekka as “that one guy with the cool drop in gbb” but now he’s one of my favorite beatboxers. I’m super happy that this battle is giving him the recognition he deserved. This is a really nice battle type with the video submissions. Big ups to everyone on the sbx team and to all the people participating. They’re all Titans!
Also I’m a new beatboxer that could use some tips if anyone wants to help

excuse me, yeah work on basics, try to perfect your sounds before doing new ones, experiment(new mouth positions, combinations of sounds etc.) (that's how I found many unique sounds) and beatbox everywhere you can :-) Oh and when you get to a sertain level of "proficiency" you start finding the types of sounds that you like and create your own style (doesn't have to be like that though, you can work on your style from the start)

Don't give up on a sound just because it doesn't come around for a while, just give it time and dedication
Also combined some of your sounds I combined my click roll and my squeak noise and I somehow sounded like a car combined random noises together and they could come out really cool

Dudz and Villains battle was wild. The contrast in the 2 was so cool. Dudz has the beautiful, clean beats/songs. And Villain has these super grimy, dark, hard beats/songs. Both are animals and it was amazing to watch 2 monsters with very different styles duke it out. Well played boys.

I'm so happy we have the technology to be able to do this event online instead of it being cancelled altogether. It's a shame it couldn't be done live like normal, but this is literally the next best thing. It's so amazing for them to still be able to perform even though people are spread all across the planet. Thanks for bringing this all together and showcasing the amazing talent to the worldwide stage.
@Yee 90 Dee I know it was meant to be online. What I meant was that most beat box battles are held live. So it is great that we have reached a time in technology where we are able to do events online like this. And this event had everything to do with Covid. The original announcement was in Dec 2020 and the pandemic was just starting to gain media attention. The advertising for this event was worded very specifically as "This is a SAFE, Stay-at-Home SOLO beatbox battle". This was entirely aimed at allowing an event to take place despite a worldwide pandemic.

New to beat boxing, holy cow D-Low seems like an encyclopedia of sounds and mixes, not sure if he has the best mic setup but his stuff sounds SO clean

What a crazy competition. Great format. Great rounds.
I would change a lot in the results streams though:
- Results timing - The winner should be announced in the end, not the beginning. With the judges talking about the good and bad points through the process (and not clearly stating who they picked to win, obviously).
- Results announcement - This is not a ON THE MOMENT battle. The announcement shouldn't be made in the same way as the live battles are (the 1's and 2's). It would be a lot more exciting to see, for example, the judges, one by one, saying their points to each one of the competitors and only on the last pontuation we would actually know the final score and who won.
- Reactions - I don't think it suits having the competitors reacting to their own videos. It would be really sick if, for example, you put the judges FIRST reaction to the rounds or if you could obligate the other competitores to not watch the videos (unless they are part of the battle ofcourse) and then, in the livestream, focus on them and their first reaction.
Congrats to all the participants. We can only imagine how sick this would be if it happened on a stage.
