I feel like it’s similar! Same class system (even gender locked, for better or worse), talents, build team to fit challenge requirements… what do you feel is missing?
@@laurenspindler4688 I am not a big fan of that action-like targeting system like in Tera, I greatly prefer it from old PWI but it could be revised a bit to be more similar to WoW. Classes were also a big plus for me way back in PWI because it was something new and original that worked well (PWI was one of the games where gender lock of different classes did not bother me, I would even say that it added a nice atmosphere to the game). The ability to use different weapons for classes that changes it's fighting style was cool. Upgrading system that adds a glow to the weapons was awesome. GvG/Territory wars was a big aspect that made guilds worth it. I would prefer the game to be more playable and optimised than with a new stunning graphics and engine that can't run on most PCs (WoW does it great). Of course I'm not an expert, I'm just saying what I sentimentally remembered about old PWI. Cheers

If this game has genderlocked classes or just "you play as this guy/girl" character-based classes then I'd rather just play something like DMC instead of an mmo.
Been thinking about the old Perfect world for a while and i unexpectedly found a youtuber suggesting Perfect new world. and damn i'm so glad about this new version and so excited to enjoy it once it comes out :) Also nostalgia aside, wow man. this is so good and looks fun, good graphics, mechanism, soul. everything looks good, i just hope the official release of the game would have a little bit much more characters than just 3. so good so far tho. Hope this game flies hard, much love

I agree, but from what we're looking at they're missing a massive aspect of what makes mmos special: customization. It looks like you play as specific template characters. Like want to be a warrior? Well you're now a male beast-person. Want to be the blade class? Guess you're a female elf now. Want to the the spear guy? Human male for you.
@@paledrake It's still a very early closed beta, so the classes being race and genderlocked might only be a early development limitation thing. Although I do feel like the racelocking should remain in tact for potential lore reasons.
@@Mikedot I hope you're right. Personally I don't want any race or gender-locked classes. I don't care what the lore says, in the end it's just super inconvenient and restrictive for people who want to make specific characters or who just want more freedom.
I'm guessing you're too young to know this, but this game is the sequel to Perfect World International, came out in 2005. Any of those other mmos you can think of likely took inspiration from this team

It's nice to see a beast men race outside from long existing MMO's due to how many times I have seen video's when I type "New MMORPG's" as prompt where it's usually human only as playable or elves.
All I ask for is a high dps ranged caster that can CAST/SHOOT MAGIC WHILE MOVING AND DASHING AROUND. The only mmo that's been able to fulfill that is Blade & Soul.. Also it would be really nice if classes weren't race or gender locked but as a veteran of the original PWI it might be just a dream.

But as with all classes in BDO, the movement skills and attacks all have their own animation, you can't actually cast and attack WHILE moving. You can dash around, stop, attack, dash around again quickly, but your movement animation stops the moment you start casting or attacking. Sometimes movement is part of the attack but I'm talking about free walking/running while throwing blasts from your hands, etc.
The video says there are talent skills you can change to your liking, so I think you can create a mage or ranged or healer in any class if you want. So I think the classes are more like races and the talent system is more like unlocked classes with no skill locks that you can tune to your liking.
Most of the move sets seem to focus on single enemy targets and I didn't see any examples of fighting multiple enemies. Curious if its just going to be 1 on 1 fights mostly.
I glanced at the combat keybind bar and instantly got Lost Ark inspiration from it and I love it! The only thing from this game I absolutely want is the races not being class locked. Sometimes I'd want to play as a badass old dude as a samurai (in this games class names, "galeblade"), or playing as a Beast as a mystic sword!. This game has a ton of potential and side content for plenty of players to enjoy, some wish to relax and just do puzzles of the sort or go open world exploring or both!
I love that this game has no range class lol. Finally someone that thinks about this problem of overpowered range classes. It's very hard to balance it otherwise. The only game that I remember that had some balance in that was Blade & Soul, which was awesome MMO and this looks pretty similar to that.
this looks amazing BUT from 2:21 the stats says... strenght, speed, survival, flexibility and control.. so I'm assuming there's no mage classes unless strenght include magic power too also from 2:26 the berserker has full survival stat so that means that there's no tank cause berserker is the tankiest you can get and there's no support stat either so no healing class.. animations and skills looks amazing but not everyone likes to play melee or full dps classes
the game is going for a literal DMC hack n slash style combat, if they can make that shit work theres no need for healers, the game can and will be frantic on all boss fights due to the system being close to dmc and nioh.
The stats might change or do different things depending on what class you play. In Lost Ark warrior-types carry a 'strength' stat, while casters have it replace with Intelligence. Then also for example the 'specialisation' stat does various things depending on the class. I suspect that might be going on here!
I hope they'll have the same or at least similar classes as the first game and also make leveling a slow but fun and adventurous experience just like it was when Perfect World had first released. Can't wait to have some awesome aerial combat, I miss flying across the world like the first game.

Srsly no1 sees that lag and stutter? Game might be looking good but its a MMORPG and there's no other player around, and we can clearly see that the frames are dropping down hella crazy.
I'll say this I'll be more than happy to drop 70 bucks for this game if it offered and offline mode. But besides that the game to look promising though.

Just from the video I can see you need to be able to do something to downed opponents. Second unique events depending on skill stats to earn unique skills. And a lot more mmorpg miss out on so many things
I hope the mechanics will be like Devil may cry which you are required to be skilled to play with a combo system. Imagine the PVP of both players killing each other with juggles and unique skills combination. And I also hope that there's an element counter I mean fire type is weak against water type or something like that. Just saying. Also, add a battle mode like a transformation from Human to like devil mode or something like that.

I would love to get into the beta, I played PWI in 2008 till 2011. I want to start into youtube content creation as well and maybe start my path in Perfect World :) I am very interested in the PvP features, I noticed that a lot of the abilities don't look super impactful, but it will probably feel different in game.

Where's the MMO aspect? Is it possible to have more than 3 players at the same time the screen? 6:30 when there is 4 npcs moving at the screen it became laggy.

We all share the nostalgia, the memories of friends we made, the adventures we took, the enemies defeated and the world that we explored. lets just take a really deep breath of fresh air. We know, its not going to be anything like the old Perfect World. I myself really want to play this game on my xbox series x or ps 5 as my laptop is just really out of date and just use it for yt and browsing. Lets all hope for the best in this new Perfect World and welcome it with open arms and minds. And please, lets keep the P2W elements that will prolly come sooner or later for the whales and the people that will keep the game alive this way and enjoy ourselves in our own of fun loving, adventure seeking circle, as all good things will come but with a good mindset.
Looks very good :) I hope that combat will be enjoyable like in C9. I love the idea to have many skills and variety of usages (as I understood they will change depending on some conditions/combos). Today's games are going more and more into 4-6 skills and that's really boring... Regarding puzzle games nice idea would be to have e.g. 1 week cycle for some puzzles and ladder(s) e.g. for completing them in the shortest time.

Actually one of the new classes in BDO called the Maegu gives you exactly this! Extremely mobile, ranged caster.

Back then we Vietnamese call duel: PvP, and actually kill people in open world called PK. Not sure If PWI called that too or not.

And please, lets keep the P2W elements that will prolly come sooner or later for the whales and the people that will keep the game alive this way and enjoy ourselves in our own of fun loving, adventure seeking circle, as all good things will come but with a good mindset.

Looks very good :) I hope that combat will be enjoyable like in C9.
I love the idea to have many skills and variety of usages (as I understood they will change depending on some conditions/combos).
Today's games are going more and more into 4-6 skills and that's really boring...
Regarding puzzle games nice idea would be to have e.g. 1 week cycle for some puzzles and ladder(s) e.g. for completing them in the shortest time.
I saw the same counter attacks, and evasive manuever like C9
Made me think of C9 as well, one move is literal 1:1 the same side spin maneuver as Berserker in C9
@@Grockstube Im hopeful they will get this MMO PvP done right. I can't wait to CC lock players like in C9 :D
