I’m a Stede kin, but I do feel for Ed. The pain they bring to each other from misunderstandings is such suffering but it makes sense as they find it impossible to stop loving each other in the midst of their flaws & bad decisions. So realistic. But as a Kin, I also felt satisfied he felt hurt because of what he put Stede through. And because it meant his heart was true to him; there was hope for him. I mean despite the pain, threats, & near deaths, They still chose each other. Stede really chose the bad guy, even after Ed admitted to premeditated murder, lying, & choosing violence with the despicable likes of Jack Calico over Stede. & Ed chose the silly lunatic who runs off for adventures, sits in ignorant luxury, & avoids confrontation. Adorable together
I know the song is meant to be from Ed's perspective but I'm pretty sure Stede thought Ed would be "Mr. Perfectly Fine". Neither of them think they deserve the other and end up hurting each other in their denial. :(
