It’s been 6 years and I still remember hearing this song for the first time. Changed my life and got me into @PVRIS for life. Holy will forever be my #1 favorite song of all time.
I like them a lot but this isn’t a new genre. I grew up going to shows of local bands who would qualify for the same genre. Maybe it’s just a MA thing.
I never knew I needed this song until now. She explained it was about someone she knew who was an extreme Christian who cherry-picked the Bible to justify her discrimination, and didn't practice what she preached. This is a good song for America today. (Also it's just really pretty.)
I'm interested in your story. If you don't mind, could you tell me in short how they saved your life? I ask because I feel the same way about Lacuna Coil.
"But there's no way that there's weight in the words that you preach, When you're claiming your faith and you contradict your speech" Just discovered this song and it's amazing lyrically and musically.
Same, had "holy" in my "weekly tracks for you" playlist, on spotify, listened to it a few times, wanted to save the song and accidently saved the whole >white noise< album....three weeks have passed and I became an addict to this band. So glad that I made this "mistake."
I love this song ! My parents force me to go to church and i wish i could show them this song so they understand me but they never will because they just know im a poor unfortunate soul!
Okay, so I love the edits with the static, that's sick! I feel like the next video might be for Fire, since the ending was red. But then, I could be wrong. Super proud of these three humans!
CourtneyIsMyName I agree, there was some parts that fit the song but other parts would've really worked well with fire. Otherwise it was still an awesome video. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that though.
Ruth Qtip This video perfectly match the song, what most of us think is that the next video release might be for fire because of the final clip in the mirror after the video ends
I like the overlaying images. When the light is on them, they look perfectly normal, good natured, but when the light is off of them they are not as what they seemed, showing their true colors.
I'm a christian, at the same time I can relate so much to this song, I believe it's a callout not for all religious people, but the radical ones, extremism is bad in all ways, and myself as a christian feel a lot of how this is, when I hear this song I immediately think of my mother "but simply calling out sins, don't bring you closer to God" is a line that really resembles her, sometimes I even wanna show this to her and see the reaction, anyway, It's good a song that talks about this religious issues in a deeper way than just "fuck you jesus" as other bands
@@mamacrow2759 My mum isn't raised by narcissists but still she calls out my every sin and she used to call me out on my weight and eating patterns until I broke down in my room because of it.
I really hate religion, people hide their acts behind it and think it's okay to just say their sins in the church but then make the same sins again. Religious people think they are the purrst, the best, they clal the other religions bad and made by devil. Once my religion teacher said ''One god but different paths''. Religion is what devided our people the most, was the cause of the most disasters and wars, just because we think we act like our beloved god said while we just try to find an excuse to do such terrible acts. My parents are highly religious and I was too, we had to go to church every week until I noticed something wrong. All those people being completly manipulated, thinking they are doing good and are above the others, that all those who don't believe in the same god will burn in hell. I hated this religion since then, and stopped believing in their god. For me there is no God, or at least not a god who cares about us. It abandoned us
@@lcdc_azuralie it depends on the church and the people's mentality, i won't deny that a high percentage of people are indeed being manipulated and there are a lot of scums in the religious medium, but not everyone is like that, and generalizing ain't very good. It's synth-driven pop rock if you want a label

I fell in love in the first day when I heard them. Haha
I found them today and I've already watch every interview and concet videos and every single song so....
PVRIS is fucking amazing.

HOLY SHIT!!
There's something different that I love about this song.
Pvris this song will never get old.

+kaytlan ott what about tøp? i saw them as well, on the same day actually
the way Lynn sings "you poor unfortunate soul" is my current sexuality.
Ironically this sounds pretty similar to a youth church song I used to listen to when I was a Christian
"but simply calling out sins don't bring you closer to god" idk why but those are my favorite lyrics in this particular song
Still one of my favourite Pvris songs
A year later and i still love this song.
