    As my father was a logger, one of the things I appreciate about seeing traditional Japanese construction is how much natural wood is visible, and the often very impressive carpentry - like those sliding screens. The garden is beautiful and peaceful, being loud out there would strike me as disrespectful to the tranquility of it - not to mention the neighbors. Thank you for this video!

    Very nice that one can have such an experience of peace, quiet and relaxation w/o having to travel to remote regions outside the city.
    Its right in the heart of KYOTO! Glad that you were able to bring your beautiful little daughters along with you, PAPA!

    I loved your video tour of this ryokan! It is beautiful from the sleepware to the architecture and the sophisticated furnishings. I loved the intricate wood designs in the sliding shoji doors and the garden was amazing. I would love to stay there and will recommend it to my Kyoto friend! ❤️

    Lovely shoji panel at the entrance, with the Asa-no-ha kumiko pattern but there is no shoji paper so it does not save as privacy. Any use for it? I guess other than decoration. Also, how did you deploy the camera without disturbing the waves pattern in the garden? :)

    Family size fridge.. Obviously not in US, they have 2 meters high double fridges. Japan is all about the essentials, whereas americans are all about excess.
