  • Enda McGinley joins Jacqui Hurley and Rory O'Neill to look back on another near farcical match between Dublin and Meath in the Leinster SFC as the Dubs beat the Royals by 16 points at Croke Park.
Offaly now stand in the way of Dessie Farrell's side in the last four.
Kildare's Sam Maguire ambitions remain alive after they scraped past Wicklow and they'll take on Louth after four goals helped the Wee County to see off Wexford.
Meanwhile in Ulster, Armagh and Down did what they had to do and they'll face off in the semis in a couple of weeks.

In terms of non Dublin teams ...Paul Flynn did mention Monaghan ...the likes of Longford or say Carlow are not going to be competitive.

As an Armagh man I agree with the fact that when Armagh push forward with confidence in their ability they seem to fuse together and can get some serious scores. When they retreat and slow the game down holding on to the ball they can be turned over. They are very fit and no team likes relentless pressure. This is why Dublin are so good, relentless tackling and chasing the ball. They don’t give teams a chance to build an attack!! So often they turn over the ball. I think Armagh have the same ability and forwards who can score. The worst thing you can do at anything is over think it. With confidence and hunger they will put it up to any of the big teams. They’ve had hard losses this last couple of years and battled hardened, it’s time for them to push on 💪

Dublin seemed to be on a par with the rest of the country when Arnotts were sponsors. But after big guns Vodafone and then AIG came on board, Dublin pulled away from the pack, in Leinster anyway

Tom, The Top 5 Senior teams in Div 1 in Dublin are regularly beating division 3 and 4 teams in challenge matches behind closed doors.

@@paddyswaine9028 Thanks for that...I have coffee sometimes in Kilmacud...a different world from most country set ups. Thanks for that . The Rugby competition is of course strong along the South M50..and a good match can bring 50,000 or so to Aviva.

The Dublin advantage. Basically all home games in the championship.... Imagine if man city had all there games in Manchester. Or if in hurling all the championship games were played in killkenny.... Or kerry got to play all there championship games in killarney including quarter, semi and all ireland final..... The money given to Dublin...the cost to fans from other counties to attend games in Dublin with the hotel prices... Dublin don't lose there top players to aussie rules like tyrone, kerry, mayo do. The grab all association is alive and well....

rory admits dublin are using these games as training exercises,, how is that fair whilst ulster kills each other? seriously,,, we need an open all ireland draw, two groups 16, one for sam other tailtean cup,,, but make it knock out, im sick this shite we have now, monaghan got beat , can get beat twice again and still make last 8 plus at least one div three team in the last 8, how ta fook is this fair or even fit to be called a championship, its a joke,,,,, kerry and dublin need to be playing against the top teams from ulster regularly ,,, they must be fed up beating teams by 20-30 points but perhaps suits the anti nordie agenda , 12 steps for a dublin goal and not one word about it,,,, if tyrone done that there'd be a new card introduced to stop it happening again , TirEoin Abu

One group of 16 teams for Sam, straight knockout? So basically half the teams get one championship game all year and that's it. There's a reason they got rid of that format. Months of training for one championship game makes no sense at all.
