👏👏👏👏👏 Jai Ho Nishantji - My "nat-mastak" namaskaram! 🙏🙏 🙏 Excellent education! I accidentally stumbled upon your site after reading about all the four "Alankaars" that you taught and described while looking for karaokes on a different site; and the curiosity got the best of me. I very humbly seek your guidance in learning the basic "Shastriya Sangeet" in the US please. I've been singing since my childhood all the bollywood songs of leading singers whose songs touch my heart; and especially, the karaokes. Those who hear me apparently like my singing, and encourage me to take the lessons. So, what would be your advise to a novice like me in learning our Indian Classical music at a ripe age of beyond 50's please? Absolutely, very touched and appreciative of this educational video of yours; and again, very humbled at the same time. Thank you, and "Charan Vandana"! 🙏
Thank you very much Guruji sir. I am a student of advanced Hindustani classical vocal for the past 6 years in the US and now at the level of learning vilambit khayal so these explanations of the ornamentation will help me in the practice of all the Ragas that I have learnt.
Thank you Nishantji, I have read so much about all these ornamentations, but it is difficult to understand till someone actually shows you the basics of it, you have done it so beautifully thanks for imparting with the knowledge, God bless.
Ustad Nishant ji, thank you so much for uploading your various lessons on Raags etc it really is a great help. I love ghazal Gaiki and I sing my self somewhat, and my favourite ghazal singers are Ustad Mehdi Hassan and Ustad Ghulam Ali. Your lessons allow us to apprciate at more deeper level the timeless renditions by Ustads such as the immortal Ustad Mehdi Hassan etc. Once again my God keep you in his Aman.
Hi sir. Nishant thank you to you giving all this tips. i am just a beginner and i have been watching last 2 month your lessons it is a big help me to devolve my singing skills. thank you Manju from New Zealad
That was amazingly easy explanation of such beautiful yet not so easy to learn ornaments of Indian classical music. I found it very helpful as I started learning flute since last month. but have no formal education of Hindustani Sangeet. Now I could relate your lessons on these 4 important ornamentation for flute too and how it is important to know the vocal music too. Thank you and surely look into your other video for better knowledge of Hindustani Sangeet.
Awesome sir, you are a blessed musician and a teacher, You explained beautifully about the 4 ornaments or alankars, these things are not even taught correctly by many of people. Thanks a lot, god bless you a lot. .
kannan *-* yes you are so right. I have been looking at so many youtube videos and trying to find the right way to learn how to do ornamentations. I am a student of hindustani classical vocal in the US and my guru encourages us to look at online youtube videos to supplement what we learn in class so that we can expand on our knowledge. Of course from knowledgeable sources and now i think that i have found a good one.
If you can creat series of videos with methodical exercises for mastering of each of these (and others) elements of ornamentation in Indian music it will be really great. So that it would be possible to advance only in following and practicing these exersises...
waahwwaaah waaah waaah sir ntmastak hoon apki gaayeki k liye...pta nhi kaise aur videos pr zyada views hai jbki sir trust me...shyd utube pr logon ne ek asli aur achchi video miss kr di hai apki.....
Very good lesson. Thanks very much. But rather than Meend, Khatka, Garmak and Murki all in one lesson I would prefer a separate lesson for each and with more notations.
Thanks a lot sir for bringing this ease. I feel like long long way to go but we are fortunate of having the advantage of having internet. Which enables us to learn at one's own pace. Once again thanks may god bless you.
Raga Visharad (2 volumes) by Pt. Lakshminarayan Garg is good for reference, however one needs a teacher to understand the practical intricacies involved in music.
the greatest results that I have ever had was by using the Bens Singer Blog (i found it on google) without a doubt the most helpful system that I've followed.
Bens Singer Blog ? I went there and it appears to be Western singing. Not helpful for North Indian Classical vocal, this guy is teaching which has completely different complexities.
In fact, there are approximately 68 modulations, also referred as ornaments, that are considered valuable for the practice of music. However, their expression depends on the feelings and emotions in accordance with the composition.
Thank you very much guruji for replying.. can you refer me any book from which I can Learn, (in addition to going to music school). I know Bengali, Hindi and English..
+BIDYUDDIPTO CHAKROBORTY just type pandit avadh kishor pandey in youtube search.. get his number .. message him n tell him you want the book .. he will give u swarangini , a music book for free.. tell me thanx later :).. gud luck
sir meri aawaz Puri tarah khul kar nahi aati. Koi dosto ko sunaata hoon toh bole hai ki baaki sab toh thik hi par tumhaari aawaz Puri khuli khuli nahi lagti sunane mein Aisa lagta hai ki kuch rok rha hai tumhaari aawaz ko Sir ispe kaise pakar paaye , Sir isko kaise thik kare. Sir ispe ek video banaayeye Na .
Tana is the faster progression of notes with higher tempo and gamak is one of the ways with which it is accomplished. A tana particularly involves oscillations preferably taken from a lower note in circular motion.
If this could be re-done suppressing the tanpura vol it would be well worth. tons of other instruction but not as good. Unfortunate volume of tanpura very distracting.
I admit that tanpura is too loud. I shall certainly keep this in mind next time onwards. Kindly bear with me. Thank you Dear All.
Can you please do a remake of this very valuable video with the proper ( tanpura ) settings. It would be amazing thanks !
Nishant Akshar how can i contact with u?
Yes fully agreed with u
anyways excellent video! thank you!
