- This time we check out the Classic Dirt bike show held at the international centre, Telford in England. Wecheck out some stunning bikes ans meet some great people
What a great show and content. Brought back lots of memories for me especially the Cheney BSA's and Maico's which I competed on amongst others. They were the days! Thanks👌👍
Fantastic always good to hear from people who used the bikes back in the day
Great Video! How Fortunate For Those Who Attended! Who Wouldn't Want To Hang Out With Such Classic Bikes, Thank You.
Pretty good day all round
Nice to see the CZ's in there. People tend to forget that, back in the late '50's/early '60's, Jawa-CZ regularly took out the Team prize in the ISDT's. Their outstanding reliability in those events was the catalyst for me buying my new Jawa 250 in 1963; it too proved utterly reliable.
How very true
I remember thinking how cool they were in my youth
Excellent 👍 Thank you. Cheers 🥂
No worries
Glad you enjoyed it
I had an ex works team Maico 490 and the street version of the scary Suzuki TM400, the TS400 at the same time back in the 80's. Both great bikes and they were certainly great days. Nice vlog; I can smell the two stroke and hear the creaking and popping of hot aluminium. Thanks.
That Maico must have been a great bike. I think the 1979 490 was the pinnacle of Maico's brilliant bikes.
Glad you enjoyed it
It’s always good to hear from the riders who competed on the machines
It certainly was. I can't remember what year mine was, but I got it in 82, and it was a rebuilt ex Maico team competition bike, sold off when they got new machines. Hell of a bike and had great fun with it. There was a chap named Chandler who raced with Maico in South Africa...any relation?@@phillipchandler8862
You have a pleasant voice, well presented and accurate for the most part. As it turns out, if you chanced the ignition on the Suzuki Cyclone and fitted a pair of aftermarket shocks, especially the modern variety, they actually handle quite well. There's a lot of myths and conspiracy theories about this handsome beast, but in general, they were quite a good machine with a few adjustments.
Well not really myths, straight out of the factory they didn’t handle well at all
As on their road bikes it did take the Japanese a few years to get to grips with handling and suspension
So many great bikes. I remember being in the 8th grade and wanted a Bultaco 125 Pusang so bad. Read all the motocross magazines then. Thanks for sharing guys. I also really liked the little Hodaka's also. Cheers
The Hodaka is a very rare sight here in the UK
Don’t believe it was ever imported
@@bikerdood1100 I so wanted one in my teen years. Especially the Wombat. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
@@rickh8380 Wombat
You do have to wonder who named their bikes
And more importantly wha5 they were smoking at 5he time 😂😂
One of the first 2 stroke bikes I remember was a DOT.
A grand old company that surprisingly is still around
shame we dont have shows like this down south (sussex) and my first school boy scrambler was a comerfords suzuki 100 seemed scary at the age of 11 probably only did 45 flat out😄
Well England isn’t that big and some in attendance had traveled big distances
Well by British standards of course
I remember Fred Barlow, and a good bloke he was....
👍🏻
Very cool and interesting bikes. Sorry you had to cage it to get there. This being an only bikes channel. At least it rarely rains in your country!
You notice I wasn’t driving
Still we did manage to pick some items up for later in the year so worth it
Another great video...thanks! By the way, what camera did you use for this "walkaround"? The quality is excellent! 😀
Just a GoPro
Well two different ones actually
Battery life 🙄
❤
👍🏻
Credit to the owners for looking after them👍
Very true
I had a 74 Rickman Bonneville that was nothing but trouble.
Oh dear
the Honda at 8:09 if you give me that I will never want anything ever again, promise,
😂😂
"promo sm" 💔
Er ok
My favourite show by far. I no longer go to the Stafford show as it's overpriced and much reduced in size. I was a bit disappointed that there were far less stands than last year but perhaps it will pick up again next year. I was disappointed that the I couldn't get on Saturday and the outdoor autojumble had packed up by lunch time.
Caught up with lots of friends though and made a few new ones.
True I found the mechanics show the better of the Stafford shows
@@bikerdood1100 I don't go nowadays unless I have a bike to show for a couple of wrist bands and Stafford is quite close to me but not as close as Telford. I used to race motocross as well. I don't know about you but I find the Telford show one of the friendliest of them all. I guess it's how many people you know who go to a particular one.
