Not a rap fan, but always loved Eminem, and this one in particular. 'Stan' is for all those of us struggling with life, insecurities, worries, self doubt, needing help. I'm feeling all these things right now. I wish I could go back 20+ years and make changes to my life. I walked away from the only person I've ever loved, and fucked up five lives in the process.

In my story it was against my will you ever heard out of time by The Weeknd? This story is basically that song I loved a girl for the first time in the inside but since I was a shy person because I was bullied in elementary I could not tell her I liked her she was my best friend too when the school year ended COVID started so I was separated from her I thought the next year we could see each other again but I was wrong then that year ended too and I move out of Miami because of rising rent there was nothing I could do my family was too poor to stay in the city and so I was out of time I still dwell on this story today I should let go it’s quite pointless I hope you all the best there’s people beyond saving but y’all definitely aren’t them so keep your chest high maybe grow some muscles if you don’t have some and have a good time your life doesn’t end until you die even the youngest pass away so make it count

I love Eminem and his music so much, he has a special way of wording his pieces. They hit you straight in the heart, carry you away to another world, make your problems non existent for a few minutes.

I love how people listen to this song and make dances for it, without noticing the lyrics, when you really pay attention you know the story. This song is like ring around the rosy, it’s a nice rythm, catchy, but it has a deep meaning. It’s really a story to tell.
Almost everyone i know doesn't give a shit about lyrics of the songs. Shit, even when they sing it every single day. I just don't get how they could like songs and sing them all the time but never understood what the songs were about. Some mfs would sing songs about love and peace and proceed to beat their partners and kids and fight family members afterwards. Play songs about criticizing the government then turn a blind eye to the atrocities the government is doing and vote for the worst candidate there could be.
You can depict everything that was said in this song. It truly shocks me and astonishes me that I can vividly picture everything. When music speaks to you, while there be story telling intertwined combines to make such a deep and meaningful song/story. He just connects everything so well, that it leaves an emotion every verse he says, that is top-notch.
This is probably the greatest song ever written. The thought into the lyrics is just remarkable. I feel like I just watched a whole movie listening to this song.
This song will always hit differently. I grew up listening to this song while it was rainy on long drives with my dad mom and siblings. I never liked slim in this song but I'm relistening to this as a teen and realized how insane Stan was. He tried excusing his mental health deteriorating on Slim. Anyway, before I start rambling on how I somehow relate to Stan.
I've only heard this song in passing. This is the first time I've listened to it all and listened to the lyrics and oh my heart! This isn't a song, this is a story 🥺♥️
I still get chills from this song. And I cry. The hopelessness of life, getting someone you can relate to(light in the darkness), reaching out to them, not getting a response and ending it all. Without knowing they weren't able to reach out coz of other reasons.
I think rather it's a commentary on parasocial relationships. The fan goes from loving to obsessive, going as far to hurt himself and people around him to prove a point. He's entirely obsessed with someone who doesn't even know who he is. Just imagine, there are thousands of stans. There are so many fans that Eminem couldn't possibly write them all in a reasonable amount of time without going mental.

@@Nintendo_song-maker this song always gives me a bittersweet feeling bc I used to listen to em all the time with my brothers when things were simpler and there weren’t all these adult problems, it’s nice sometimes to reminisce in the past but it’s more important to snap back to the present. I just don't get how they could like songs and sing them all the time but never understood what the songs were about.

If you didn't want to talk to me outside your concert, you didn't have to
But you coulda signed an autograph for Matthew
That's my little brother, man, he's only six years old
We waited in the blisterin' cold
For you, for four hours, and you just said no
That's pretty shitty, man, you're like his fuckin' idol
He wants to be just like you, man, he likes you more than I do
I ain't that mad, though I just don't like bein' lied to
Remember when we met in Denver?
You said if I'd write you, you would write back
See, I'm just like you in a way: I never knew my father neither
He used to always cheat on my mom and beat her
I can relate to what you're sayin' in your songs
So when I have a shitty day, I drift away and put 'em on
‘Cause I don't really got shit else
So that shit helps when I'm depressed
I even got a tattoo with your name across the chest
Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See, everything you say is real, and I respect you ‘cause you tell it
My girlfriend's jealous 'cause I talk about you 24/7

About that guy who coulda saved that other guy from drownin'
But didn't, then Phil saw it all, then at a show he found him?
That's kinda how this is: you coulda rescued me from drownin'

To help your ass from bouncin' off the walls when you get down some
And what's this shit about us meant to be together?
That type of shit'll make me not want us to meet each other
I really think you and your girlfriend need each other
Or maybe you just need to treat her better
I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time
Before you hurt yourself, I think that you'll be doin' just fine
If you relax a little, I'm glad I inspire you, but Stan
Why are you so mad? Try to understand that I do want you as a fan
I just don't want you to do some crazy shit
