I remember reading one time that Ringo Starr said to Dave Grohl in Rolling Stone that he loved Kurt Cobain as he had so much emotion, and he himself also is an emotional guy. And Kurt Cobain not only wanted the adoration of John Lennon but the anonymity of Ringo Starr too
Gotta love Ringo! He’s a musical drummer. I don’t care if people “think” he was crap in the beatles - he wasn’t. He played to the song and didn’t flail around the kit like a nutter showing off. Try playing what he played and sing at the same time. i bet most of you drummers can’t do what he did. “What Goes On” and “Act Naturally” are HARD to play especially when sang at the same time - the boy had stamina for somebody so sick all the time. Absolute legend ❤
