I know exactly what you should do with all those dried ghasts, Gem's base isn't happy enough, it needs a bunch of happy ghosts to make it happy.
Honestly happy ghosts as ghosts floating around gems base would go really well with her theme and bring a lot of fun life to the build while staying true to the spirit of the build

12:00 geologically speaking the curviness of a river is indicative of how long the river has been flowing...a younger river will have more curve and over time it eventually erodes enough land to straighten itself..this occassionally causes whats called an oxbow lake in the area where the older river bend was cut off from the continuing flow and erosion and sedimentary deposits of the river

To be fair, after they straighten out to form the ox-bow they just start curving in another place, old rivers are ones that have curved, straightened and curved again, until they have created a huge flat floodplain around them built up of old meander scars (aka, dried up ox-bow lakes) that are invisible from the surface but, if the conditions are right, can be seen using geophysical techniques. Water very, very rarely ever flows truly straight.

This only happens in flat enough terrain. Rivers through rocky, sloped land tend to run mostly straight downhill. It's odd to see waterfalls and oxbows, and the river just as wide for both.

Once the server is updated to 26.1 you should use golden dandelions on ghastlings and let them roam around your base. they only roam in a 32 block radius from their home position!!

My hopes were low but Joel still sank lower.
Geography student here, I would say the river is pretty realistic and natural. It looks like there was some isostatic change in the area, causing the river to gain its energy back creating the waterfalls and raised land and begin eroding meanders again. (Edit) I forgot about incised meanders and paired terraces. River is no longer accurate, but again, everything if fine and everything is normal so hey ho.

I love how Joel's character matches Gem's aesthetic more than his own, and vice versa. Totally fine and normal!
This season really might be the best one yet, build wise. I'm just trying to keep track of the sheer amount of new hermit-made biomes in this season as they crop up :D

*_Joel's Mossy Plains_* - They're distinct enough from normal plains that I feel like they qualify as an unique biome, especially with those lovely small cliff transitions. Perfectly fine and normal and full of potential for whimsy :D
