Lovely to see the model of a Bournemouth trolleybus. Went to school on those so many years ago. You have a lovely set up , probably fairly unique as I have not come across anyone who has anything similar . You have another subscriber!

Wonderful, I used to travel on the Bournemouth Trolley Buses to Southbourne to see my Gran and I loved the trip from the Square, I was so sad to see them go. Thanks for bring back nice memories.

I loved your display. Just beautiful and most rewarding feeling after completing one by one. Good luck to make the Swiss Tram Trolleybus and thank you for sharing.

Hi David, thanks for your comments! The roof is the most difficult to build, moulding plastic and much sanding, I am experimenting with car body filler which makes life much easier. I am sure Sandtoft would be pleased to have porton, there are so few model trolleybuses around. Best wishes, robin

Hi Robin, very interesting work with your scratch-builds! I saw an old plastic RT in something like 0 or 1 scale at a bric-a-brac fair and was tempted to convert it to a trolleybus; at the moment I am struggling to get a decent looking rear-roof section with my scratch-builds. I am going to visit my local MBF for help! Maybe see you at Sandtoft next year - if asked, I might bring West Porton.

Wonderful video, and what beautiful buses you have made, It so nice to see creative people. It would be nice if you had street scape behind the road,
Have you ever thought of puting in a wireless video camera in the cab and seeing it from the drivers eye view
As I said simply Brililiant, I LOVE IT
    Steve

Where do I start? Its a very complicated process and a book is being written on this very subject! First step is to get plans and decide on your scale. I obtained plans of the Swiss Megatrolley from the Hess website which was very easy, the Bournemouth plans were from Terry Russell Trams. Chassis are brass square tube from Expo and wheels are Meccano. Mashima motor and Comet gearboxes complete the chassis.

That's amazing if they're built from scratch!
I was wondering for a minute how the steering worked, but then I saw the steering track thingy :-)

I salute your skill! Although I never saw it, the Maypine Trolleybus company ran models rather larger than yours, but in the lamentable absence of the real thing in the UK, it is lovely seeing someone take the time (and exhibit the skill) to build their own! The trolleypoles obviously exert considerable pressure on the overhead. What do you use for contact on the poles?
