The reason he picked Corey Taylor from Slipknot is that Tech is a huge maggot (Slipknot fan). He mentions them in his song Like I Ain't, which is essentially his resume of all the things he's done. I line in the song about them is "Then turn around and switch it up and do big rock
Tryna ride all the way up to my homie in Slipknot (maggot)". Tech's music is amazing if you give it a chance. Go watch Like I Ain't and you will be amazed at all the collabs and records he cut with huge names (like Tupac, Eminem, and more).

Its nothing like you've heard because its just that haha a groundbreaking fusion of genres.. Tech has always been a huge Slipknot fan and has always had metal influence in his rap.. And this is maybe his heaviest track haha... Most of Tech is rap not singing like hr does here.. But he can really do any style of rap or music without sounding forced

I like both of these, but I like Straight Out of the Gate better. Serj has such a unique voice! I definitely wouldn't call Ren's band metal, even though they do that Black Sabbath mashup. They have a more rock/punk vibe most of the time. Don't go in expecting metal, or you'll feel the way you did about Wither. 😉

You also have to stop looking at rap in a box. Rock and rap have been blended together since hip hop started. Most of the time blues and Jazz were incorporated in hip hop. Even country music has been blended. This is just music you have to know music has always blended itself with other genres of music. Some music groups wouldn't have even been started if it weren't for bluegrass, jazz, and blues.

Strange Music is the label Tech started. I used to love his music but I slowly got tired of him making up or mispronouncing words to make them fit. He's still insanely talented. I just personally tired of him lol. The talents he signs I tend to gravitate to more than him. ¡Mayday! is probably my favorite from Strange

Yup same. He used to be my favorite artist, it just gets old to listen to after awhile. I still don’t think there’s many rappers on his lvl. Straight out the gate never gets old tho, like a lot of his older music. I can just tell he doesn’t put as much effort into it nowadays.
