I remember the thrill of hunting around for Oasis singles. As an American Oasis fan, you had to get them as imports, and they were hard to come by. This was obviously before you could buy them online. Certain stores would have some and then other stores miles away might have another one. It was like searching for treasure and was always exciting to hear the incredible B-sides which were as good, if not better than most other bands’ A-sides.
Yes! The only single I came across was Wonderwall. I was full on learning how to play guitar in 1995. Cut my teeth on those tunes. Played Talk Tonight and Rockin' Chair at my future wife's birthday party/1st blind date way back in 2000.
A friend of mine who also played music couldn't stand Oasis. I took a lot of heat! Played him the I Am The Walrus cover and he came over to my side just a tiny bit.
I wore that single out.
They would have been a very big commercial success in America had they not broke up on tour in 1996.
That killed them in the USA.
I remember when the "boxes" came out... one in silver (definitely maybe) and one in gold (what's the story) with all the singles inside.
When I saw them in a store, bought both of them immediately
We had the same over here in Europe!!!!!And you knew you had quality......
They released too many songs too quick. They could have had another album of B sides. I remember 1994-1996 they released a song every 5 minutes!

IMHO what Noel is saying is he is a great catch and hinting at that. He's asking someone to join him. How loving and kind.!! Also asking if people came alive and stayed alive is really a caring gesture. The lyrics here are just so touching

@@Xighor What is gonna take for them to just stop this separation. You dont even have to get the band back together. No one is saying you need to be best buddies and hang out every other weekend. Just sit in a room. Lockthe doors. Each let out the frustrations over the years and realize you both have been assholes to one another. At the end of it all, you're still blood and you're still brothers. This world needs people to come together. If Liam and Noel can come together, I have hope for anyone with significant problems to face them.

@@lucasoheyze4597 there's literally not single before them that they sound like. They've got small amounts of T-rex, beatles and stones plus some of the attitude of the pistols but they were a very original band. You can't show me a song before 94 that sounds like Columbia.

This is a good song especially for this trying times. I managed to go outside, run, walk, and feel the city. And, especially talk to my high school friends. I love the aesthetics of the video because it reminded me of one of my favorite contemporary artists, John Baldessari.

@talkingstone6308 In 1994, following a disastrous gig in the US, Noel left the band and basically disappeared. In that time away, he ended up in San Francisco in a relationship with a woman named Melissa Lim.
Noel hasn't spoken much about her in the years since, even claiming he doesn't remember much about her, but many fans who know the story believe that a bunch of songs Noel wrote for Morning Glory and the B-sides of that era are about or inspired by her and Noel's headspace in that time away from the band
"Talk Tonight" is a particularly notable one. She is likely also the "Sally" from Don't Look Back in Anger.
