    What a terrific video!! I did run to get a homebrew to sip while watching this, but I also wanted to get on jeans, black t-shirt, and a baseball cap, but had to draw the line somewhere, lol. Felt like I was right there with ya. Yeast has vitamin B not D, unless I'm mistaken, but what the he**. I wish they had Festa Brew here, I'd sure try it, looks great. Fo, I was dying for you to pet that sweet doggy, thanks for finally giving in, LOL! Take care guys, this is what it's all about! Cheers!

    @casualtiesofpunk Basically what your buying is a food product at this point. So you get taxed on that. There is no alcohol in it (yet) so the huge taxes don't apple. 3 cases of craft brew would cost like $120 - $140. So this is a good buy.

    Awesome vid! Early on when I was researching into starting brewing, I actually looked for the FestaBrew kits here in the US but had absolutely no luck finding them. I really like the concept of a brewery-made wort for an awesome, quick brew. Cheers guys--great video as usual!

    Hi guys, I am now drinking my Festa Brew Red, which was brewed thanks to you guys and this review. It is excellent at 4 weeks. Can't wait for it to age a bit more. Just fantastic. Keep up the great vids...much appreciated. Will try a Coopers Kit next either dark ale or IPA. Cheers guys. Rob in Moncton

    @tnm140 Well, figuring the equivalent of a 5 gallon kit you would get about 640 ounces, divided by 12 ounces equals 53 bottles. So figure 2 cases for 26 bucks, vs 5 gallons for also starting around 26 bucks. Also figure no need to carry them (some of us walk to the store), and no need to carry empties back (some of us live in states with container deposits). And considering that homebrew tastes so much better and I think it's still a money saver in the US.

    @ACTeslaMachineDC This Red Ale came with S-04. The yeast in the video was for an actual lager I made. Craig was just showing the process. It was fermented probably around 65, but at this time my basement is 68 and I expect it to stay that way until fall starts up. With the A/c on in the house, the basement has been 68 since early June.

    Brewers yeast is high in B complex vitamins guys. You can buy it at any GNC or drug store, or you can drink it :)

    The old beer professor that I get my grains from makes up a similar thing. 23 liter (Maybe 5-6 gals in american moon measurements?) AG wort that you ferment up yourself. Kind of takes the fun out of it for AG folks like me, but its a great way of cheaply getting really really good beer (The guy makes a MAGIC brew) , and yeah here in australia we have ridiculously expensive beer. Here in perth its like $17 for a six pack of coopers, which is waaaaay too much. $9 a pint at the pub!

    I have made a few of these like Brown Ale , IPA , cream ale and other festa brew kits and they came out great. Cheers and 17

  • @hoopztube
    @hoopztube 14 лет назад

    @CraigTube Yer he is not wrong. Average case of beer here in Australia which is usually in 345ml bottles is between $40 - $55. Funnily enough, when I go out I buy some of the imported Gernam beers, as they are usually between $10 - $15 for a six pack. Most of the price of beer here is Alcohol tax.

    @ACTeslaMachineDC Its pretty HOT where I am right now. Craig took that clip with the S-23 from another of my videos. That wasn't the yeast for this Red Ale, but for an actual lager. This beer came with S-04. But my basement has been a stead 68 for the past 2 months. I fermented the lager around 55 degrees in my cellar at the end of winter. I have no fermentation temperature control so I'm all laggered out until Oct - Nov prob. But with the A/C on, my basement keeps at 68 so its ok for Ales.

  • @weirdbeer

    @emiliano17ar Well he took that video from my channel of me making a lager. Just showing the process of Festa Brew. That wasn't a video of this particular beer.

    Hey Len. I was just wondering what kind of esters and flavorings the Festa brew that Fo made would give off, given that the optimum fermentable temps can't be attained in Canada right now...

  • @tvtoms
    @tvtoms 14 лет назад

    @tnm140 Even on a 1:1 compare, it's a savings even if marginal I agree. But it's so much more added value. How do we quantify that?
    After all, the price we'd pay for a masterpiece is not just the cost of materials, hehe. Lets go have a mona lisa homebrew!

  • @fearthevictor
    @fearthevictor 14 лет назад

    Craig, is there a way to modify these kits? If you wanted to add an additional flavor whether it be honey, fruit, etc., is it possible?
    Thanks for all the vids.

  • @weirdbeer
    @weirdbeer 14 лет назад

    @duckmonsterX Wow that is expensive. Its only $12.60 for 6 Coopers here. Which is still expensive, but it did have to come across the Ocean mind you! Sheesh!

  • @CoolVIguy
    @CoolVIguy 14 лет назад

    Here on Vancouver Island ( west coast Canada) I pay around $12.50 for a cold 6 pack of almost any decent IPA. I have friends in CA. who pay 15.99 for 24 cans of Bud Light.....The difference is absurd. So yeah, no bloody wonder we brew our own here.

    What was your ferment temps fo? that saflager S-23 is a lager yeast, that best ferments between 59-68 and even lower than that I've heard. I dont think it is that cool in Canada still is it?

    Just a little friendly advice to a Fo. As I see You Fo like grolsh bottles very much, as I am ;-)
    Tap them on the sink in water (no matter cold or hot) for about two-three hours and easy take of these ugly grolsh labels off with sponge... The bottles then will look great with your beautiful beer! ;-) Cheers!!!

    what about the taxation on the kits? I think the only way to get around the taxation would be to go to an actual grain distrobution and grow your own hops, yeast that is a no brainer. If only I could do it that way.... Oh well I found a great supplier only 45 min from me! cheers and beers craig and fo!

    It's actually B complex vitamins that are in yeast, not vitamin D. Again you guys are not doing research and giving false information. This is especially painful as I've just released a new track entitled, "CraigTube," that was going to be a bridge to relieve the tensions of the anti-arts campaign I thought you gave up.

    how much is a can over there ? I'm in the UK I get the Beer when it is on offer ie: 30 cans of carling @ £15 that's 50p a can

  • @sausage4mash
    @sausage4mash 14 лет назад

    @CraigTube £1 =$1.6001 so 50p is 80 cents for 440ml so your bottle is 341ml (bottles here in the uk usualy more than cans) so... my can is about 30% bigger so I would be paying about 56 cents for 341 ml of Beer , lol my head hurts ,oh carling is an English Beer, cheap lager 4% , its ok made from 100% English Barley , guess you have a different Beer by the same name .
