Thank God it worked... I was almost losing my mind from constant failure of my circuit... At least now I know that the ir receiver isn't at fault...

Yes because the remote gives a pulse of square wave so it will only remain on when the trigger pulse is given this circuit is just wrong..

Probably the same as a tv, the IR sensor is really simular to the ones in tvs and that is a tv remote, so if there's even a towel in the way it won't work as well

TSOP sensors give out a pulse when it receives an input signal
So the LED should blink by pressing the remote button.
@@daniloosorio6666 Scheme? What's with the scheme? According to the scheme, the assembly should work as I said. It seems that you do not master even the most basic notions of electronics. In order to work as in the video, a flip-flop should be inserted between the TSOP sensor and the LED
@@franktrue8672 Exactly, how it hold switch on and then off for another press.. its not possible..I tried to check the assembly, it did not work, I did knew it will not work.

can it replace the on off button?
no it cant this is not working on/off he just need to get lucky. IR-receiver circuit like he uses in this video only read remote IR signal and send digital signal on that pin he connected let to. So sometime you get on sometime off there is no rule depends on how long he holds the button, also depends on remote controller used. Some remote controllers send command and stop some send continuous stream of data while pressed. So depends on many factors, to be able to replace on/off button you would need some kind of digital logic behind it to filter out data and make it useful, some low end mcu would suffice or combination of logic gates
