I had a revelation last night...Tortilla Man has slowly been making himself more a part of the show. He's not waiting for the band to acknowledge him, he's essentially that guy who puts in a job application and calls every other day to see if HR has looked over it. And I don't think the band has orchestrated 100% of his antics, like coming down and tearing it up with Corey. But they aren't telling him not to either, which means they approve. TL,DR: Tortilla Man wants to stay part of this band and is showing a lot of initiative to the others.
By the sounds of it, according to Corey and Shawn anyway, Tortilla has brought some energy to the band that they didn't realise they has lost till he started tearing it up. Think he's just pumped up and having a blast, which gets the other guys pumped and so forth, leading to an immensely energetic and powerful performance all round.
Honestly though, as a fan who grew listening to the 99-2010 line up, I must say I am very pleased with Jay, Vman and TG's input into the band. Though the original members still have plenty of energy in the tank, the newbies add a different flavour to the sound and performances that allow for the band to have their shift in sound and style that they strive to do every once in a while

Hence the generic masks, hence the various interview comments from clown, hence their 'stick to the notes' performances on stage. Perhaps rightly so; it was the first time they'd had new hires, a massive issue for SK, and it would be weird to let them go nuts and claim their stake as personalities in the band rather than just musicians (if that makes sense.) Tortilla? He's either been given carte blanche to go absolutely mental, or he's taking the #3 spot by force.
Thank god someone else said it. He was his usual self towards the end of last year, but now the official tour has begun he's definitely just going through the motions. He barely leaves his drumkit for the entire set, save for Duality. It just doesn't feel right to see Clown hurting like this.
Massive improvements although I also say this song suits his vocals which is very death metal like. Physchosocial didn't suit his vocals but massive improvements from last year. Loving his energy as always also.

What a night this was, absolutely incredible. My first slipknot concert and I really hope it will not be my last. Atmosphere was insane and the way the band gets fans included is great, favourite band ever and literally an epic night. The whole arena is literally family at slipknots concerts!!!
Been listening to Slipknot for over 20 years, and they just keep getting better. I wish I had been able to get along the road to Glasgow and see them last year! This is just epic.....and Nero Forte helps me concentrate as I wade through data during the day. Hope to see them back in Scotland soon.
when I saw the vid of Tortilla Man in Ireland singing this, I was blown away, but after watching this video...I'm still blown away. He got so much better than when I saw them in August of last year. Absolutely amazing.

I saw them on the 22nd in Sheffield UK! Such a great night! I screamed and headbanged until my neck hurt and my voice was going! It was Sid's birthday and we all sang him a happy birthday! Haha They were wearing different clothes than this though. Saw them back in 2016 too.

Then joey left and I didnt know what the fuck was gonna happen but luckily they found the perfect fucking fit in jay and he has more than stepped up to the throne. Then chris leaves. I was hurt by that one because the element of the backup vocals and energies was just amazing especially when they were all vibing together. But seeing tortilla man, it's crazy to see that he actually breathed some new life into their live performance. You can see his energy. Not only feel it. You cant help but love and enjoy it. Inlove slipknot. Till death.
