love the colour, not too bright and deep and rich. :) that sliding door fits nicely indeed. :) I had no clue about the wheel variations. I'll try and take a closer look next time I go hunting for castings. ^^
And here in the States we pronounce it Ness-lees. So many ways to say it! I can’t keep track. Nice job on that one. Definitely looks better with the chassis flipped.
That a very nice rich burgundy colour l. The chrome on the rear bumpers added a highlight to what would've been a very plain look on such a dark colour model.
The driver's door is flat and has a barely discernible inwards taper. The off-side door carries through the slight bulge along the waist line of the body. This little model is one of Lesney's most appealing commercial vehicles and it's great Jason traced the make through to reveal what followed. In the 1950s & 60s no one could have foreseen the treasures these toys would become - let alone restoring them with skill and care - the way Jason and others do now. Every one is a little phoenix.
While I knew that Nestle’s had it’s share of controversy, I didn’t know about it’s broad range of products. As for this van, it’d been great if you gave it glass and an interior…. Next time, perhaps ?
The genius of vintage Matchbox models is their simplicity yet fine details.
Very nicely done.
Beautiful restoration Jason.
I love how you give a history on each of the restoration subjects, class and well spoken.
