  • Julie and Phillip are like ships that pass in the night as she works on shifts in an emergency unit. They have £3,000 available to convert their garden, currently surrounded by brick walls, into a wildlife-focused space to spend more time in when they do get a chance to be together.
The first challenge is to make the budget go as far as possible, so the team source patio slabs that match the current ones to produce a bigger social space. A timber, curved path is another clever budget-friendly feature. But with wildlife the key to the garden, Lee’s rabbit out of the hat is a set of amazing bat boxes. Flo builds three custom boxes for the lower part of the garden, while Lee puts up a four-metre high freestanding 'bat post'.

Wow, it turned out beautiful. I really feel for Flo, her designs don't seem to hardly get chosen, but I haven't watched all episodes that Flo features in. I love her designs so much. Let's hope that this lovely garden helps Phil overcome his TV (The Square God Box) addiction. Not an easy feat...

She was too honest drawing the walls in the garden. Lee omitted them, creating an unrealistic illusion. The seating area in the back is marvelous!

@@roelienpostma2367 Yes, I can see that now, it makes sense, Lee was very clever in disguising them in his design as that was a major dislike they had.....

At least for a new build it's not overlooked, love the end result. Definitely a fan of natives and attracting wildlife.
Even the smallest spaces can be hugely beneficial.
    Well done garden rescue 😊

I think the dogs will love to spread the wood chips all over the place. Perfect for digging 😅

Lovely garden...I would love an update on the king fern with the seeds on the leaves 🍃 which propagates by seed! It is very invasive...enjoy.

I think flo needs to talk more about her plant choices in her presentations. And i think she has a special eye, maybe she needs to verbalize her estetic more. I love her designs generally.

Oh no, they should have unwrapped the rootball!!

You should have removed the burlap around the tree ball and the wire or ropes so it wouldn’t impede the tree growth. Burlap acts as a wick to keep moisture away.

Seems most of these new gardens aren't for gardeners. 😢 Mostly garden rooms instead. TFS miss Charlie

Do like the finished garden. Not sure how it's going to hold up with three dogs. I think I might have stuck to shrubs and trees instead of plants. Wonder where their furniture is supposed to go? TFS ❤❤😊😊

Such an improvement. Funny but ‘old man’s beard’ is a noxious weed in NZ and must be removed from gardens. ❤

these new builds are never really wildlife friendly because there is no access round the perimeter .. no wonder hedgehog numbers are at rock bottom...access should be mandatory.
