- The ONLY 12 SUVs Worth Buying in Europe 2025 (Everything Else is GARBAGE)
The European SUV market is full of overpriced disasters, reliability nightmares, and ticking financial time bombs - and your script exposes all of it. In a world where 147 SUVs are fighting for your money, only 12 truly deserve it, and this video cuts through the lies, marketing fluff, and dealer nonsense to show viewers which SUVs will actually last, which engines won’t explode, and which models will save them thousands in repairs. This description captures that energy - the frustration with modern overengineered junk, the praise for simple bulletproof engineering, and the urgency to avoid being scammed by “premium” brands that crumble after warranty.
This video walks viewers through real ADAC data, Which? reliability results, TÜV failure rates, and brutally honest mechanic opinions to reveal the SUVs that WON’T bankrupt families in 2025. From the unbeatable Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid to the shockingly tough Dacia Duster and the overbuilt Korean hybrids that embarrass German rivals, this is a guide Europe desperately needs. If you want to avoid exploding timing chains, failing DSG gearboxes, broken air suspensions, and catastrophic depreciation, this is the only list worth trusting.
The 12 SUVs ranked here aren’t perfect - some are boring, some basic, some expensive - but they all share the single trait that matters most: they won’t ruin your life. No overcomplicated software, no fragile turbo-diesels, no luxury badge headaches. Just honest engineering designed to last 300,000-500,000 km without drama. These are the SUVs mechanics trust, taxi fleets swear by, and smart buyers quietly hunt for before the masses wake up.
If you’re tired of German “premium” illusions, fed up with French ticking-time-bomb engines, or done with British reliability disasters, this is the video that finally gives you the truth the industry refuses to say out loud. Let the neighbours brag about their broken Range Rovers - you’ll be driving something that actually works.

Okay , so basically every single vehicles on the market that is also not an SUV 😂
Thanks 👍
Doing God's work 👊
I love when AI generated video states “spent months analysing”
When youtube started monetising videos, suddenly every youtuber became an expert, doctor, professor, mechanic, engineer, surgeon you name it.
That's why I unsubscribed! Where I live, you see all makes of vehicles, but Subaru are a popular SUV due to a number of factors, including the ability to cofortably cope with our area's potholed roads!
ONE:- There is no such thing as AI. UNDERSTAND THAT. Do you use a GPT, you don't use the best, you use the one everyone else uses? Ask it this question, "Why do you claim to be AI, when all you are is a 3-level, cascading, processing software package". Then come back and apologise. AI is, scientifically, described as Autonomous and capable of making decisions in priorities and results. There is ONE AI machine in the whole world, and it isn't in the Ultra Secure Asylum, nor Asia, Africa, South America, North America, Australasia.
@Demun1649bro easy one the pills
The smartest car buyers aren't chasing prestige they're avoiding repair bills.
Ive had the karoq dsg for 3 years great car no problems at all
You have a good opinion of the Skoda Karoq manual, but what about the Kamiq automatic? Particularly the higher powered 1litre? Im looking for a replacement for my Yeti automatic
I guess the same combination would apply to Skoda Kamiq with manual box and 1.5 tsi engine
Suzuki have confidence in their own products. Every year you get one serviced at a main dealer you get another year's warranty up yo a max of 10 years. Plus the dealer where I got my Vitara picks up and returns the car from my home for servicing. The charge for this service; £10.
Neighbour runs a car scrapyard. They have only ever had two Dusters and both were accident damaged. They get loads of Jags, and Land Rovers though, some are just a few years old because parts are hard to get and they are too expensive to repair.
That's good to know, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
One should compare cars with similar specs and prices!
You need to state the braked towing capacity on these vehicles..
The 2026 Rav4 is gonna be plug in only in the UK 😢
for me the car industry want to go in gaming mode, pay premium account and season boosters if you want to drive or some intentional update might mess up you computer and sensors and the fixx will be extreme
Tell us which ones on 26 to buy
Lol, I was lucky to get a dpf free diesel. It nails and nails...
you need to have 0 understanding of how engine wear occurs to recommend mild hybrid car.
Honda actually uses it quite differently and also when all are blind then one eyed is king. That means it takes just OK to be the best today.
Drive test with RAV 4 and Corola Cross 2025. Seems to be great cars but ....
from this list the Mazda would be the first I would buy or....maybe.....the Hyundai Tucson.....But still remain as much as possible with my 2017 Subaru XV 2.0 simple natural aspirated petrol, 150hp boxer engine and 6 speed manual. Just a simple, safe, easy mechanics on it, no useless complicated technology on it, not very expensive to maintain and just a reliable car on all terain and weather condition with an average of 7.3 consumption.
What about the 1.2 puretech with the timing chain on the 3008 2024/2025? It's not the same engine as before?
dont get rid of the Yeti
What about Nissan quashkai ?
Can you give half price subscriptions for pensioners ?
It seems that ADAC never saw a Subaru... 🙂
exactly. No subaru? No nissan?
How about Hyundai!?
didn’t you slate the Mazda CX5 on a video not long ago? 🙃
RAV4 should've been no.1
And I say this as a CX-5 owner.
I couldn't afford the RAV4 GR so got the Mazda equivalent.
But I love it. Amazing handling and despite what many say, the infotainment has a touchscreen. But I have one of the later models. The pre-facelift ones didn't have it.
@usernamechecksout My 2020 model has touch but only when the car is not moving
@Futures62mine is touch all the time. It's a 2024 model
Nice car, I never regret buying mine
@Futures62absolutely!
When I'll change mine I'll probably go for another Mazda. But this will be a few good years from now.
What about the Nissan qashia hybrid.
Good car I’d say.
According to this video the Mazda is better than the Toyota Rav 4 despite the later having much better fuel consumption and holding more of its value after 3 years .
another thing i couls see is You tube has become full AI generated content
The majority of SUV vehicles are chosen is; HIGHER DRIVING POSITION ROOMY and practical fammilyvehicle . The bonus is SUV makes a distinguished statement of presence .TOYOTA is worlds number one seller because built with integrity not just profit. HONDA and MAZDA also outstanding vehicles of integrity reliability and resale value. JEEP LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER PLUS MANY OTHERS are HEART AND POCKET BREAKERS as well a questionable reliability and life span . High maintenance . Ask any owners they will tell you the facts
But not for city driving .Most of the rest I agree with.
My diesel XC 60 is the best car I have ever owned- and I have owned LOTS of cars
The first one says the VW TRoc but show a TCross?
What do you expect from a lazy human working with FAKE AI?
😅 No. It’s a T-Roc if you’re referring to the light blue one.
@Und@Und@UndTips 100% it’s a T Cross it’s too square at the back for a TRoc which is more slopping and the distance from the door window is larger to back of car on a T Cross.
@malcolmstarkey1062 I hope that you would understand that videos are made with stock images as it’s not a direct review channel. I will paste here the link for the image used from Adobe Stock that states clearly it’s a T-Roc. I do agree they’re similar but it might also be due to the colour it looks more like a T-Cross
stock.adobe.com/ro/images/volkswagen-new-t-roc-allspace-suv-car-german-automobile-manufacturer-parked/504852413
@U@U@UnderTheBonnetTipsot only does it look like a TCross it is a TCross, completely different shape at the back end to the TRoc.have a look and see. I don’t need any link to see the stock image I own a TCross and pretty sure I know what it looks like.
I have the Yaris Cross 2025 and the Rav4 2025. Best cars I ever owned.
After a one year experience ?
also i need manual transmition, the ecars and hybrids are full of electronics and sensors and bugs makeing life a nightmare for the mentenance , to many things to fail and all come in blocks together so you need money for a new car to fix it also they are way more dangerous and annoying with all notifications every few sec. I need a car for me to drive it not the car to drive me
Mostly nonsense 🤷♂️
Has the Yaris Cross on there (fair play excellent car overall), doesn’t put its Lexus cousin the LBX on there )so considers it garbage) despite is being as reliable and as well received as the Cross.
AI generated slop 😂
Peugeot is Stellantis! Most models presented here are CUVs, not SUVs. The real comparison is money value over ownership confort. Reliability is just one aspect…
Sorry, but i prefer my Lexus UX 250h over any other brand, reliable, efficient, comfortable... fun to drive oh and yes ZERO issues 2.0 petrol/hybrid 2023 bought it new and happily cruising above the 62k /km mark
Chery Tiggo ICE 1.6 TGDI
15 years official warranty !!
zeop and company will vanish in 2 years
@peternahalka7234😂
why woul anyone buy a suv with 1,5 l engine ?
no power , no refinement , old people cars to drag in the city, SUV normaly needs abouve 2 l engines to push all that weight, i really cant understand why would anyone get a small suv with small engine when station vagons/limousines have more internal space and more power to move the weight in a decent manner
Jaecoo phev 7😅
Corolla Cross?
Seat ateca 1.5
I’ ve got the 1,5 petrol Skoda Karoq. I do have the 7 gear DSG and love it. Had it now for five years and not a single problem. Of all 14 cars I have had the last 42 years, this is the most problemfree and nice car I had. The ”start-stop” mecanic with the manual gearbox was not nice in my Skoda Octavia (motor stopped easily when I often shifted quicker than the motor started up again). Therefore I bought my first new car with automatic gearbox. Never an issue anymore. The Kia Sportage was another contender when we changed car. Happy with our Karoq.
@TheKentaurion thinking of getting a 1.5 petrol Karoq 4x4 with DSG. But unsure of its reliability. Is as good as you say it is?
We had one of these and it was fantastic and 100% reliable. If you can stretch to an Enyaq of Elroq, they are amazing
@derekr1113won't touch electric 👎
The DSG gearboxes in these cars are rubbish, they start whining at 32,000km and cannot be serviced so need replacing costing £1,100. The Karoq review above emphasises this problem and is 100% correct..
VW Garbage cars
Cant really disagree with you, I am also a Japanese car fan especially Toyota. I think your view is pretty objective and not status orientated. I think the german and English brands relie on status, swedish on classiness, the Japanese and Korean brands on reliability, the Italian brands on sportiness. The French brands on fancy unreliable cars. And so you can go on and I think we base our deciosions on these stereotypes. I prefer reliability. And now the Chines cars are invading, its even somebody’s car of the year, the Chery Tigo. Last mentioned is way too expensive , but they sell like hot cake in the UK?
Guess I'd better scrap my 6 year old VW T-Cross that has not given me any problems in the 3 years I've had it as a second user. I'm not a high mileage driver but have had VWs for years without any real issues. Have I just been lucky I wonder?
Generally self destruct 8 to 10 years old majority of German cars..We've got 23 & 25 year old Toyota in the family and never skip a beat. Usual maintenance servicing, suspension arms which ALL cars fail on..but engine gearbox nothing comes close..39 years working on all car brands, my experience is genuine real world 🌎
Don't, this is about new cars. There is also a video on used cars. Just need to navigate the junk, whether new or used.
@ElleyElley-et4ky Got a TOYOTA? Got ZERO street cred. Don't hit a tree, they are made out of kitchen foil.
I had a Škoda Fabia II estate for 3 years, a Škoda Roomster for 5.5 years, and a Škoda Karoq for 5 years. All DSG, I am a cripple, cannot use a manual because I cannot change gear on the steering wheel, while breaking and using the clutch with my other hand. I have had NO DSG PROBLEMS AT ALL. I have a policy that if a country has illegal tariffs, or laws, that keep their markets protected, I refuse the cars. Japan and Korea both violate International laws, the WTO Regulations. I don't buy cars made from kitchen foil or milk bottle tops. Dacia are all manuals, the last time I looked. I have considered Renault again, since they no longer have Nissan engines, but have decided to go for a new design of EV vehicle from China. When I get my big Lottery win, I will have a Maserati.
Having Duster for 4 years i had 4 issues, and not all was covered by warranty. In 2 occasions car needed to be towed. My mileage after 4 years is 40k km. So i would not recommend.
I hope you wore dark glasses and a balaclava when you were driving it, so nobody could recognise you
@georgeparker7838 currently trying to get rid of the car
No Lexus on this chart?
When you see Dacia on the list, that’s when you flick to the next video
Duster start at 25000€
I love the zero-filter honesty in this title! You're right-in the crowded European market, only a few are truly worth the money.
Thanks for cutting through the 'garbage' and giving us the definitive 2025 list! Essential viewing! 👏
I’ll share some stats to this point.
There are 326 likes 👍🏼 vs 29 dislikes 👎🏼 at the time of posting this video. That’s an approval rate of 91.8% which is below channel average.
Now, my wife’s car is a Kia Sorento 2016 cuz I needed a 7 seater and didn’t want a mpv, minivan or van.
I’m into saloon, hatchback, limousine or cabrio…
But you have to be as impartial as you can when doing these videos.
Although I see comments like “I’ve unsubscribed because AI slop”, “where’s the research?” and many more, you have to understand it comes to cars there will always be people agree and opposing.
I stop people and ask them about their car, especially the Chinese ones while parking, or doing shopping, even in traffic or when fuelling. I’ll be completely honest, majority of them I believe 99% so far said they love their car, which I can’t say about BMW or Mercedes or Audi anymore and it’s sad because I grew up wishing one of those badges.
Appreciate the feedback
No1 is a Subaru Outback. Unbelievable you act like you know what your talking about and you ignore the most reliable one.
Lexus easily number one
I've an IS300h. Bought 2015 The only money I've spent on 115k miles (apart from servicing) is tyres and new brake discs and pads.£20 a year road tax and still looks good.
Very few of the vehicles you review are SUVs. If you cannot drive it down a deeply rutted, muddy farm road without problems or concerns, it is not a SUV. If it has "fastback"/coupe styling, it is not a SUV.
Comparing crossovers and estates and traditional hatchbacks would be more useful. But you would need to compare them on the basis of comparable interior space (which means your crossover will be usefully shorter than your estate).
So... Dacia Bigster, Honda HR-V, CR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, Skoda Kodiaq, Kamiq, Seat Ateca, Cupra Fromentor.... are just garbage? 🧐
Suzuki vitara is my choice.
What a BS... wife bought new Volvo v60 b3 mild hybrid.. nonstop electronic problems(engine stopped in middle of ride)... returned to dealer after 1 year. Volvo never again
Volvo aren't European so what's the babbling about Swedish comments. The Chinese bought Volvo out long ago.
You having a laugh🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a wedge of money and ordinarily would be looking for a new or nearly new car about now. I can’t find a good one, not one. I had BMW in the late 80’s and 90’s but wouldn’t even touch one of them now, not one. Most modern cars are garbage designed by boys that I wouldn’t let near a design studio.
Whats funny about this? AI voice? Apart from the voice the video is pretty much 100% accurate.
@JamesKrell-o3ojust buy a Toyota and be done. If buying new or almost new in 2025 Toyota safest bet 100%..almost 39 years working on cars, it comes from GENUINE experience
Thanks for your feedback.
However even the voice is not AI
AI generated content, against german cars!
Prefer a sedan, looks way better, decent space, better drive. Choose well, and you exit the SUV white goods appliance NPC club.
The sedans are elegant, but the least practical, except for the Skoda Octavia, which only has the sedan shape...
Apart from the Volvo and the Mazda they all ugly
Lexus NEEDS a shout.
OK, LEXUS IS CRAP!
@MrWombattyare they? Again a clueless comment coming from someone who clearly has NO idea on cars. 39 years working on ALL car brands in the UK, talking cr4p? Look no further than German or most European cars. Sh1te
Lexus is Toyota with leather.
@abc-ye2ecanother absolutely PATHETIC CLUELESS comment..I owned a 2009 Toyota Crown hybrid 3.5vy 340BHP. Had more leather and kit than ANYTHING out of Germany. Please stop making yourself sound stupid with CLUELESS comments
🐒
Suzuki the best in Europe!!!
Some of the Suzuki cars are made by Toyota/
If you don't know how to drive especially stickk shifts and corners best to stay in the US with all the kiddy drivers in there stop go cars,it's like bummpers in a fairground attraction.. boring, safe but zero fun,
...its a mindfield :🤣
Did I see a Renault Steering wheel on a Dacia Duster? 🤣🤣 utter AI bollox
:))))) what a garbage list
So where are Subaru in the list ? LOL. Get real.
It appears the author set out to knock German cars and Tesla at every possible chance. At the very end, the list is limited to "the best *hybrid* SUV". That limitation is not mentioned in the title. If that were not a factor, I'm guessing a Model Y would have won, hands down.
Probably because German cars are sh1t? 😂. 39 years working on cars, German and majority of European cars are absolutely woeful. Anyone thinking different is either clueless or delusional 🤔. I'll leave that choice up to you 😊
Tesla ??? Are you having a laugh .. geez
You talk way too much and say nothing. You completely missed the point.
It's AI
I‘ve got it, you don‘t like german cars 😂
Dacia Duster is Turbo when equipped with 1.3 TCE engine. All Renault TCEs are Turbo made. Volvo XC40 je pretty plastic and far away from real Volvo!
First To Arrive Here🎉
I live in the US and most of the cars you give as shining examples of mechanical wonderfulness are not sold here. Another 1/3 were sold here at some point but left the market with their tails between their legs because they made CRAP. For example the Suzuki who's doors would literally fall of the car because of RUST. Then there are the Hyundai/Kia's whose engines fail and spew oil all over the exhaust and catch on fire as a result. It is laughable to hear you go on about their OMG wonderful warranty when they have offered for years when they were really JUNKY. While it is probable that Americans don't maintain their cars like Europeans do I can imagine that most of these vehicles can't stand up to the driving we do here. And BTW, don't they sell Subaru's in Europe? Not a one on your list! I wish that I was familiar enough with these cars to know just how much of a crap this video is.
In Europe Subaru ,Honda and Lexus are niche brands, because too expensive. Toyota and to a far lesser extent Suzuki are top tier but not necessarily best sold.
I have extra sound proof on my Suzuki S-Cross, so heavier doors, and still no sign of rust and no fallen doors yet...🤷
SUVs are a con. A bog standard estate car does the job far better.
IKR , SUV's make 0 sense for 95% of ppl . If you drive city and highway it's absolutely madness to get an SUV
Only if you have a winter, the freesed snow gets high.
less visibility, less space inside while occupying same space on parking, worse off road performance, worse overall versatility... you need to be brain dead to say estate car does the job far better.
@alessandroh10 it does, if they would sell them, SUV's would die off fast, the only real redeeming quality of suv's is that they retain better value, and if you buy a car to only drive it for 5 years might as well lease
@alessandroh10 Mebbe. But the space is more vertical than horizontal ...?
So everything is better than German cars ? Yeah right, maybe someone will actually believe you. When you insult German cars 10 times in 1 video, you have some serious issues .
This AI video has something against german cars. Rubbish
Too much talk and awful voice. Goodbye
