Thanks for this. You made this simple and not complex like a lot of the other videos I've seen on this topic. I'd like to see you make a video on how you organize all of your business, resource, and client files. I'd also like to know what your view is on storing files and folders locally vs the cloud
I personally store everything on portable SSD's and back them up onto a large hard drive that lives at home. I do back up final edits to the cloud via Google Drive, but I do not store footage or RAWs via the cloud because it would simply take too much time and storage for the scale of projects that I am working on. Hope this helps! :)
Thank you for sharing us such good information for organizing the folder structure......Please share for windows PC also and for project folder management
@@stephanhungnguyen1117 Not sure what aspect you would consider professional, but the main things I focus on when I am making a video are composition and color grading, I make sure the background and space around me are how I want them to look. I color grade mostly manually. This video gave me some trouble cause I found out I was working with a VERY contrasty monitor so my image ended up being color graded a little too contrasty, but I have been working on something to speed up the process and make it look better (like in my most recent videos) and it may be dropping soon for everyone 👀
Such a great way of organizing things. Subscribed your channel 😊 If possible make a video on how you organalize personal life in folders, example -> Paying tax, travels, insurances , bill payments, family pictures etc. Would love to see a video from you on that.
Unfortunately, my personal life is not as organized lol. I will say that I tend to keep all photos on my phone and backed up to a cloud service (I use iCloud, but Google Photos is just as good). As for bills and taxes, I keep business purchases in a certain folder for the year and I always use paperless billing so I can just save my bills in a label on Gmail.
@@HardcastleCreatives Thanks a lot bro for your reply and sharing your personal life organization . It was helpful as well. And no worries. You have helped a lot in your video. Appreciate your time in helping all with organizing . The best video in youtube in saw in organizing of photos and videos so far. Have a good day !
Great Question! This ensure that the folders stay in the order that I created instead of alphabetically. This way, January is fixed to first instead of half way down the list. Hope that makes sense and helps!
@@justingiovanetti mostly just to keep things in the same spot if I add more. For example, clients - new clients get added below current ones just so I can keep track.
@@HardcastleCreatives Thanks. That’s interesting. I understand now. In practice, I couldn’t see it being that valuable past a small set of folders. Thing x is top, bottom, middle-ish, second, third, fourth from top or bottom.
Thanks for watching! Here is how I have those folders divided up. :) Resources are divided up by file type. So in that folder I store any LUTs, Titles, Overlays, Sound Effects, etc. The Business Folder is broken up into Branding, Invoices, Estimates, Contracts, and Taxes (receipts, gas, etc)
Thank you for this.
Sure I'd love to see an in-depth video on how you organize your business files, resource files, and client files.
would love to see that in depth video, this already is immensly valuable
REALLY NICE! EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR !!! My caps lock was on but I love it like that, adds to the excitement :)
Thanks for taking the time to make this.

Thanks, minimalism is the way to go...
Not many of the "behind the scenes" videos on here. Good thing to start with a good basis for collecting client files etc. Great video!

Coming Soon!
Why does every folder, regardless if it’s following a sequence, have prefixed numbers? The months, arguably make sense, but why everywhere else?
Great Question! This ensure that the folders stay in the order that I created instead of alphabetically. This way, January is fixed to first instead of half way down the list. Hope that makes sense and helps!
@@HardcastleCreatives Yep, the months make perfect sense. It was the numbering on all of the nonsequential stuff that seemed odd.
