I wanted to say I’ve been using your dark interior mod since you released it and never gets old. One of the best mods in the game. Good work. I do have questions? Is it possible to make a mod that allows you, to change the color inside your habs? Much like in ship builder? But interior?
@treyart1 I've dug into it a little bit and and the issue is the ship interiors are linked differently because of the generation they need to do for doors and such, when I have some time I'll try to spend some more time messing around to get it working but yea, the issue is the interior links and the materials files not being connected to the shipbuilder color system at all. It should be possible but will take some time to iron out
Thanks for the review @CrimsonFlyboy! I was really excited for these habs. I love building small ships and 1X1 habs like these are really useful. I too would've liked to have seen a bit more storage in the habs but aside from that these are really awesome. Props to the MA!
These living spaces are very well thought-out, and the one with the moving planet target is very cool. And I'm reassured by your professionalism, since you even go so far as to sit on the toilet bowl to make sure it's practical. We're in good hands.
Been wanting to use these habs in a build so thanks for showing them off. They’re awesome. Edit: I really like that the mod author disabled snap points for certain spots. It makes it way easier to figure out the appropriate layout for the habs. Smartest way of doing that I’ve seen so far
The thing I love about this mod is you can really tell the mod author thought through the design of the habs for use in an actual ship. Certain other mods that add habs look great until you actually try to use them, and the way the doors and ladders interact is really messy. These habs are beautiful, very functional, and look like they were always in the game.
Actually, having everything in that Workstation hab would be great for an Isolation player: bed, galley, research station, pharma station, weapon and suit stations, and the industrial bench. And, because the 'front' of that hab is just a basic table you could attach the Taiyo cockpit and maintain a microship build.
Great walkthrough. Thanks for all of the work you do. I like the 1x1s too. These would be great to make a small explorer or fighter without giving up interior spaces and features you want.
Many ships end up with dead end storerooms and I like that these could replace those like modular luxury habs designed to spice up your space truck. That said, it's also realistic that most of the space inside a ship be devoted to storage and machinery and everything else gets crammed together. This mod is good for all of that.
I was going download this cause it looks amazing but i really appreciate you going through the mod and all the habs cause this plus stroud premium habs mean my ship is perfect now! Thank you!
Thanks to @GrafPanzer for the mod and @Crimson for the commentary. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the use of ladders. That being said, this is some phenomenal work! Also, there is the option of placing doors where some less than necessary stuff is deleted. If you wanted to play where there is no artificial gravity, then stacking these on top of each other would harken back to the NASA days of the very near future where constant thrust would supply your pseudo-gravity. This is a definite download tonight!
Now I'm curious lol, do nasa and the various agencies put ladders on their space stations. It seems useless unless they somehow ended up in a gravity well
@@CrimsonFlyboy for a station like the ISS, no ladders are required. If you build a station like in 2001:A Space Odyssey, you’ll need ladders or escalators to move from 0g in the hub to whatever g (centrifugal force) you have on the outer ring. If you build a ship that is going to use the thrust for your downward motion, you’ve gotta climb up some way.
I really like this mod. The workshop will end up on most of my ships as the only hab. I don't like crew members, they get in the way and even with mods they are way to chatty. I end up using small fsst ships with vanguard weapons. This is true even if I get bored and build a fleet of giant ships. That workshop 1x1 has everything needed. I got the mod on Nexus and looked for a way to donate the the mod author. This mod is better that 90% of the paid mods on Creations and 100% better than the crappy scam-cash-grab-mods Bethesda allows.
Can I make one suggestion? Stop "squirreling"... Pan around more slowly, and give people a chance to actually look at the details when showing the habs... It's all well and good to discuss how great the habs look, but it's really hard to judge when you're only seeing flashes of them... Having said that... These do look amazing, and are arguably the best custom habs I've yet seen...
Some great habs. I tend to build everything including the kitchen sink ships, with several thousand in storage and plenty of crew slots. If this is on xbox, I should be able to reduce my ship size a fair bit and still have some great crew habs. Going to play later (just started an NG+). I also like some of the things put out by Matilija, such as stairwells and some of the cockpits.
1x1 habs are actually 8x8m, that's 64m². The trouble with them though is always how much you lose, no matter where the doors are. If you don't want that, you pretty much have to connect from below or top.
Was contemplating getting this when I first saw it go up... Been wanting some cool 1 by 1 ever since I boarded a UC ship that had a 1 by 1 crew quarters....
One thing I don’t understand about doors when building. Most say you can enter from either side, but when snapped, some of them have one side is blocked off. Is that because there’s things on the blocked side that’s unmovable?
Just something about ship buildings : which parts can we only have in one exemplary ? I have this mod but i haven't use it yet to modulate my army of ships.
Yeah, but he's just following Bethesda's example. If it were up to me I'd replace the guns with security bots, the ones that love blocking doorways even when they aren't guarding prisoners.
As always great new mod review. I was going to suggest that you review this mod because I was really interested in checking out all of the hab interiors and you just did it. You are on point Crimson, kudos to you!
I literally just released a dark interiors overhaul of these habs. Thanks for the content crimson!

Love your dark interiors mod! Makes everything in my ship match up thematically way more easily

Yeah, it is. Some people might not like the parts only facing one way, but I'd rather have it this way and not lose cool parts of the interior
Thanks for highlighting this mod. This mod is definitely a new favorite of mine.
Coffee time. Yeah. Sold. Thanks for posting. Great video.

Love to see it when a modder comes through with an amazingly useful mod that stands out! 1x1s have been very under rated. Getting it later today.
I do love the 1×1 habs tho! It makes making smaller fighter style ships easier
I was going download this cause it looks amazing but i really appreciate you going through the mod and all the habs cause this plus stroud premium habs mean my ship is perfect now! Thank you!
Totally awesome!! Since I tend to build a lot of Nova ships, this is great! I'll be getting this one later tonight.
Best Habs mod so far.
It is at least a heavy contender with the OwlTech "do work" habs. But they don't have to directly compete, since they're going for different goals.
"..You're safe this time.." lol
Great coverage as usual Crimson!
I was looking forward to this one, thanks!
I have the PDY patch so I could put doors where it made sense for my desired layout. Really great habs! Thanks for the review
Been using these since they launched. So much for such a small space. Must haves for smaller ships
Nice I was waiting for you to review this mod.
They are awesome habs, can't wait to build a ship around them
@ lol yes agreed. Same here n

I really want an alien creation where you can find grey aliens on the moon and you have to take them down.
p.s. those are stackable washer and dryer!
Awesome mod thx for showing
It's such a good little hab mod
1x1 habs are actually 8x8m, that's 64m². The trouble with them though is always how much you lose, no matter where the doors are. If you don't want that, you pretty much have to connect from below or top.

Now I've watched the whole video no longer contemplating, I'm definitely downloading this awesome mod!
I wish you could get rid of the large round doors and just use the smaller side hatches all around.
I wonder if place your own doors work that way. In my limited time messing with it, I did notice that It had a few different door types
One thing I don’t understand about doors when building. Most say you can enter from either side, but when snapped, some of them have one side is blocked off. Is that because there’s things on the blocked side that’s unmovable?
Yeah. In this case, the mod author doesn't want the player to be able to enter and remove a specific item or feature
Just something about ship buildings : which parts can we only have in one exemplary ?
I have this mod but i haven't use it yet to modulate my army of ships.
What do you mean by in one exemplary
@CrimsonFlyboy there is ship parts that can be included just one time in the building of a ship but don't remember what are they ?
Oh, you mean the armillary from the main story ?
@@CrimsonFlyboy no : parts like astromotor , cockpit , reactor.
Theres a new free spacewalking mod. Adds new doors and triggers 0g when activated. They only open in space
Very cool, but I'm NOT sleeping next to the head. ;)

Sticking the bad guy in where all the guns are isnt the best idea, if he got out he could come shoot up your ship 😂
Yeah, but he's just following Bethesda's example. If it were up to me I'd replace the guns with security bots, the ones that love blocking doorways even when they aren't guarding prisoners.
@XoRandomGuyoX I understand I wasn't critzing just noticing it.

its 1x1's... not 1x1 s's lol
